  4. i took my turbo off yesterday (280zxt 1981) and three metal things came off. the Big one, is the main manifold to turbo gasket, but can you name these two? i think they might be a type of washer, im not sure where they go, or if i even have to use them again, help me out.

  11. I'm trying to see if anyone knows of any good deals this year. This year, I'll be waiting for a craftsman compressor from sears, 33gal, 150psi max, dont know any other specs, but you get a free impact wrench, and an air ratchet, all for $300. they also have tool sets for cheap. im also getting a craftsman creeper and mechanics seat for $20, new screwdriver set for $10 (over 15 drivers!!), new 1/4 or 3/8 ratchet and standard socket set for $10. this is ridiculous. http://www.black-friday.net/sears-ad-scan.html# Keep this post going. I want to go broke this Thanksgiving!

  15. Hey guys, I'm currently going to Cal State University of Fullerton, majoring in business. I hate it. I have no idea why I'm doing this, besides the fact that business majors get nice big paychecks. I recently thought about switching majors, and decided that I wanted to operate CNC machines, or weld. It seems like it would be fun, and I heard they make pretty good money. I wanted to see if there are any CNC operators or professional welders on this website that can show me the path. If I choose this career path, what should I major in? Should I major in Mechanical engineering or something?
  16. i did, the noise is pretty loud, and is the same loudness when i listen to the water, and oil pump. hrmmm. i wonder what MSA is going to say if i tell them i bought a water pump a few months ago and i think its bad? theres only about 75miles on it.
  17. i have an 81 turbo setup in my 77. I am hearing this weird, "Whoop" noise coming from the front end area. Its not a fast pace noise. I am thinking that its the oil pump. has anyone ever heard of an oil pump going out, and making weird noises? I also had an N/A setup in the car previous, that made the exact same noise. The ONLY part i switched from engine to engine was the water pump, and that was brand new from MSA. also, they both had deleted fan clutches. I am hoping this isnt a bottom end issue. anyone have this "whoop" noise? btw, it occurs about once every ten seconds
  18. ok, FSM from xenon tells you to disconnect the connector and test. When i test it with the connector plugged in, i get a reading, which seemed to be in spec. Am I doing it wrong if i leave the connector plugged in?
  19. i dont think i have a short anywhere, i followed pin 23 all the way to the ecu. the "other wire just connects with afm, and goes to ecu. im lost.
  20. im looking at the wiring diagrams. the yellow/green. is pin 23. it goes directly to ecu. the other wire on the CHTS harness T's with the AFM and then goes to the ecu. i cant understand how it would be getting ground?. im testing pin 23 and ground, and get no reading.
