  5. Msa 6-1 headers (So Cal only) Head gasket Oil pan gasket standard bore: pistons (6) piston rings (6) would like flat tops, i prefer new in box, or very low miles, or really good condition.
  6. did a compression check. numbers are 150, 140, 120, 120, 140, 145. is it time for a rebuild?

  8. alrighty. Coolant is good, Oil is at alright level. There is spark that jumps from wire to plug. When i turn the key, and then i stop, the air is rich with fuel. its coming from the exhuast but i can smell it from the drivers seat. anyways. i didnt come around to the compression check but will do that soon. is there any other problems you guys can think of? i noticed in my fusebox im using the fuse for my floor temp. but it wouldnt affect startup would it? btw, i had the wrong fuse in the floor temp slot for a couple months, is it re-routed or is the floor temp not that important.

  13. Hey guys, lets get straight to the point, i need an engine. i am looking specifically for a full l28et with all goodies included such as tranny, wire harness, ecu, things like that, everything that will make my car run smoothly. i am also looking for a rebuilt naturally aspirated l28 that i can just pop into my 280. money is tight right now so im looking for a deal, nothing past $800. Im only 17, so if youre out of state, and would like to offer me an engine, i would happily arrange a roadtrip since my springbreak is coming up (april 3rd- april 12th). Fullerton Ca 92831. Thanks
  14. i was driving my 77' 280z last week and i left it there to idle after a 45 minute drive. when it was idling, it cut off and died. my temp gauge told me that i was over heating. i am running ngk plugs, new wire set, new dist cap, and coil pack. i tried to fire it up yesterday and i was sucessful ONCE. then after that, no go. the plugs are filled with gas, and the oil it pitch black. i noticed that i need a new fan because its not spinning with the engine. when i got it to fire up just that one time, the exhaust just smelled like oil and gas. do you think i might have fried something? is it time for a rebuid? thanks

  19. so youre saying, if i leave it unplugged, it will idle higher when its colder? and lower when its warmer? or are you saying if i plug it in, it will idle the same, cold or hot.
  20. alrighty. this is on a '77 280z l28 a few months back, i took my car to a z mechanic and he replaced a couple of wires to help it pass smog. specificly he replaced a heat sensor. when i went to take a look at my engine yesterday, it looks like he left a wire unhooked, but i dont know what it is. the wire is located above the intake manifold, and right behind the throttle body. can someone help me and provide the info of what it is, what it does, and should i plug it back in? thanks
