  1. http://i46.photobucket.com/albums/f127/bjhines/V8%20240Z%20project/roll%20cage/bumpermountremovaloutside.jpg More lightening! Yay! Iron oxide is lighter than steel! : ) This project is mad. Keep drilling and cutting!
  2. Looking good - and bad - at the same time : ) Keep it up!
  3. Thanks : ) Sounds good enough for me to use then : )
  4. By the way, someone should buy this pair of EVO 2 (EVO L) and mount them in their Z so I can see if they even fit ... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Sparco-EVO2-Competition-Class-Seats_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ133209QQihZ006QQitemZ160003692909QQrdZ1
  5. No, but I got an email about a month ago (from the guy running the forums over there) where he asked me wether he could post the videos. I told him, no problem. So - they're on part 4, or something now I think : )
  6. I uh... figured out I was a bit too tall for the seats from Raidopower. The holes in the back, for the seat belt, wound up somewhere along the top of my shoulder blades. I want to keep being 6 feet tall - even if (god forbid) I crash while wearing a 4/5/6-point harness. So. I got some new seats. Crappy picture - yes, I know. Consider it a paparazzi pic of the new Sparco EVO L seats chillin' in the sauna... Seats: Black Dash: Carbon (black) Console: Carbon (black) Carpets: Black, or really dark grey Roll cage: Um... Have to give that some thought. Either black or the color of the car. Whatever that turns out to be. Interior panels: Originals w. draped carbon? I dunno. Otherwise black, like stock. Engine bay: Black, probably. Oh, you guessed it - I like black : ) Edit: ...And I wanna see that painting of yours! : )
  7. Ever consider smoothing out the fenders with some bondo/filler? : )
  8. Thanks for all the feedback and paint suggestions! : ) I think I'm liking Gun metal more and more by the minute. Uggh. It's gonna be one hard decision. I like bright colors, as well as dark. I want the car to stand out from the crowd - and not. Lucky me painting isn't here yet : ) Anyway, to give you a little update: the rear fenders (type; TABCO) have been wrapped up in a nice li'l package. Waiting to send them to the guy who is going to hook me up with some nice custom metal flares. I only need to figure out how wide I want to go ... Near the end of july, the Z is heading south to fit a custom made 12 point roll cage. I'm really looking forward to that : ) Probably going for regular steel and not chrome moly in order to cut costs a little. There's a weight saving of 7 kg or so according to the guy building it. I can downsize myself that much instead : )
  9. The wires are labeled every 4 inches. I assume there's some schematic included. Fuses - not sure. They're not that expensive anyway : ) edit: Included: • 20 Mini Fuses • 21 Circuits • Horn Relay • 2 Flashers • Dust Cover Ah' date=' that's what I thought... No worries! : ) I just thought it seemed a bit weird that a guy who rolls paint, uses the curb to work under the car, etc, etc, would pay just to get a "Painless Wiring" sticker on the fusebox : ) Thanks for that additional link. Price is about the same as Summit's universal 18 circuit harness. It's [b']SUM-890020[/b] if you wanna check it out! http://www.summitracing.com
  10. Saw where? Everywhere I look (Summit and eBay) they cost ~$300. Cheapest I found was the 8-circ @ $239 and the 12-circ @ $275. Fill me in. Edit: Why would you go for Painless?
  11. I found the ZZ-20 universal kit, and compared to Painless wiring's universal 18 circuit kit (priced at $310) it seems like a bargain - costing only ~$130. And considering it's got 21 circuits - all the better. Not that I'll be needing all those circuits anyway... : ) So... Anyone know if it's OK? Is Painless quiality really 280% better? Let me know : )
  12. I'm nooooooooot listening .... : D That is, unless you mean a 2-tone without green? : ) Nice blue's • http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-1930-1939/1934-Ford-Blue-fa-ho-sy-1152x864.jpg • http://www.planet42.net/photos/barrett-jackson/blue_cobra_side_800_framed.jpg Gunmetal • http://www.cpdserver.com/elisetalk/pic/color/othercolors/gunmetal-019.jpg I'll quote the game Command & Conquer (Red Alert) intro on what color I'll settle for: "Time will tell" : )
  13. How are you going to mount the car onto the rotisserie arms? The way it looks now, it seems like the car should be mounted higher up (nearer to the pivot center) if you are to mount it up like mine (attached to the bumper mounts)?
  14. Green is totally and utterly out of the question I'm afraid : ) My ex kept nagging me about British racing green and such, so I'd rather paint it pink if I had to choose between those two.
  15. I was thinking blue. Really dark and lots of metallic, maybe some pearl as well. Think very-metallic black and mix in Porsche Iris Blue meets Nissan Bayside Blue ... edit: I'm open to suggestions : )
  16. That's using the original seats though? What if you stuff a pillow under your thighs and tilt the seat back a bit? : )
  17. Yeah, I hope they can fit though. Since the chassis is still in the rotisserie, I haven't been able to place a seat in it and jump in to check if there's enough room (for having a floor mounted set of pedals). It's been a year and 7 months since I last sat properly in my 240z. Can't really recell if there was enough space to fit the tilton setup. If the seats are tilted back there should be enough space though. I hope. If anyone wants to report how much space there's left between your heels and the firewall when fully sliding the seat back - please do : ) I'm 6 feet (184 cm) tall. edit: 100:th post. Yay!
  18. I know Recaro seats are comfy as hell - but they're a bit too pricy for my liking. I'd rather buy a two Pro2000 from Sparco instead of one Recaro alcantara seat - and still have cash to spare : )
  19. Wow, you must really trust your handbrake : ) I'd like to see more videos of your car. Preferably driving, and from this angle: http://www.240z.id.au/images/car/street/drive.jpg
  20. Rubin, thanks a lot for those pics! : ) I'll swing by his gallery/album and have a closer look! Umm.... I got some new seats by the way : ) http://www.raidopower.se
  21. Only manifolds I've seen holes in are OBX's and such ... What kind/brand are you using?
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&Item=4651802006 I would love to see this engine put to good use in a 240z : )
