  1. The Silvermine EPS kit did not offset my steering shaft away from the headers. The shaft is in the same location as stock.
  2. First step, removed stock steering rag joint. Installed new EPS joint to 240Z steering shaft. Not to bad of a job, if I wad to do it different I would have installed before the engine.
  3. I will start a new post on the install of the power steering kit. Pete
  4. I received the power steering kit from Silvermine motors today. I will post install pictures, installing in my 240Z LS2/ T56 with Hoke performance motor mounts. If anyone has questions on the install let me know.
  5. I guess the car is not finished after all. Power steering is on order. I will post when the kit arrives.
  6. Yesturday was the first shake down of the 240Z. I put about 20 miles on the car, this is by far the fastest car I have ever owned. Faster then the Cobra kit I built that had a 302 with a supercharger. Faster then the twin turbo Nissan 300zx. The T56 came from a 2006 with the LS2. Make sure you don't forget the brake pedal Clevis pin retaining clip. I forgot and pedal went almost to the floor.
  7. Finally finished the car. Just finished passenger seat, and front windshield install. After reading issues with after market windshield seal, I went with Nissan seal and the install of the windshield went great the seal fits perfect. More pictures to come when the weather gets better. Next up maybe a supercharger and electric power steering.
  8. thanks Daniel, thanks for fresh air duct. Looks great. Pete
  9. How were you able to have the power steering turn off at 30 MPH?
  10. Hi Edan, is there any draw back loosing the steering coupler (rag joint) ?
  11. Any first hand experience with Silvermine motors power steering kit ? After my first drive I think I will install power steering. Pete
  12. Hi Daniel, I sent you a text, let me know if you have the driver side and how much you for it. Pete
  13. Thermostat not opening solved. I installed a 180 thermostat. The new thermostat opens at 186, the old one was opening at 203, the problem is the computer measures the temperature at the cylinder head. There is a difference between the cylinder head and the temperature at the thermostat housing. I was seeing the thermostat housing 14 degrees less measured with a inferred temperature gun. So with the 180 thermostat it opens when the temperature at the cylinder head gets to 200 degrees. I have the first fan programmed to come on at 210 and the second fan programmed to come on at 217. I think I will lower the first fan to come on at 202. If I would have let the temperature at the computer sensor reach around 218 I think the original thermostat would have opened.
  14. Looking to buy driver side 240Z fresh air duct. This is located in the engine compartment near the inner fender.
  15. Added the 1" spacer, helped with lower control arm angle. Helped a little with the tie rod angle.
  16. Both hoses going to the heater core measure the same temperature. Yes I get hot air in the cabin. I ordered a 180 degree thermostat, I will try this and see what happens.
  17. I tried adding water to the upper hose, this filled the radiator up above the top hose fitting. I vented the steam vent. I ran the car at idle for around 15 minutes both fans turned on. I measured both sides of the thermostat with inferred and there was 40 degrees different. I have a computer hooked up to the OBD-II port and I can watch the temperature rise.
  18. I have a similar setup in the upper hose. I will try and fill from the top hose tonight. I do not think the stat has ever opened.
  19. JHM, who sells bump steer spacers for OEM outer tie rods?
