  1. your meth is close to working i think, oh and your car sounds awesome.
  2. these are mk2 seats. the mk5 seats are wider and have a different bases, not sure if they will work.
  3. Took the datsun out to a new BBQ joint and parked infront of this gem.
  4. also forgot to add you need to swap the seats. the adjustment knobs are on the inside of the seats, so i put the passenger seat in the driver spot and the driver on the other side so people can reach the adjustment knobs.
  5. 5-31-09 installed some 92 gti recaro seats in the car
  6. i know.. but im poor and miata seats are so over priced imo. plus i had these taking up shape in my house
  7. Had some extra vw seats laying around so i removed the vw bases and bolted straight to the rails. youll have to use some flat bars and drill some holes but it should only take a couple hours.
  8. Id plan on bolting the seats to the car directly like you mentioned. Just hoping the Miata seats base is thinner than Datsun seats since I cant find any FS.
  9. (First off, I searched but came across nothing substantial) Im a big guy and Id like to increase the cabin size much as I can. I currently have some type of OEM Honda seats in my 240z. Which look nice but are very think both top and bottom. My Datsun is a weekend car, not an enduro race car. I dont need a big ass pad. If I could find seats that are the same size or smaller as the stock seats in base size without going into the aftermarket world Id be happy. I dont want people looking in my car and seeing some fancy ass seats that could peak their interest to what could be under the hood. I was planing on Maita seats but Ive noted a few people said they sit higher to stock. Is there any merit to that claim? Also was looking into 911 seats but I do know I dont want power bases and they are a bit costly. Or I could just use stock seats if i could find any in my area. So what do you gentlemen say? Help a big guy out.
  10. are those an older version of the R100's? you link doesn't work, while i like the 2009 r100's id like those you pictured more. Edit: These are the Sparco Steel.
  11. 04-21-09 Bought two sets Q45 diff's with axles. I had no intention of buying two set ups but one was a great deal and local so I couldnt pass it up. Should be up for sale/trade shortly.
  12. 03-10-09 New air dam installed. Fog lights removed.
  13. Bought the car in March 09. Mostly stock, had a 5spd swap and a hydraulic head and some sort of OEM Honda seats. Car was exactly what I was looking for. A straight bodied car with decent paint. Totaled, I paid 2800. Which, in my eye's was a bargain. The goal is the obvious SBC swap. Although Id love to drop a 3.1 in the car, it comes down to dollar per hp and the small block wins. The build, although id like it to be in asap, is going to be a steady but slow pace build. I am by no way an expert when it comes to V8's, so I want to do it right the first time. I want a block between 350 and 383. That might seem broad but I know my budget will not handle a 400ci at this time. Aluminum heads and a mild cam are a must along with a Victor jr. intake manifold. As for a carb I am undecided at the moment of writing this first post. As for drive train, I am currently at a cross road between manual or auto. I do plan on taking the car to the drags, so a th350 would be expectable. But this being a street car and I being road racing enthusiast my mind screams manual transmission! It would be nice to ride/drive in each respected set up to make my own decision (if you live in the bay area please send me a PM!). The rear end although will be a Q45 r230, that will handle anything I throw at it. On to the pictures.
  14. I was coming back from a group drive few years back in a group of three including myself. There was a woman in a gold accord in the fast lane going a bit slower than the rest of traffic. The lead car signaled to the right and we followed suit to passed her. I hate being cut off, with a passion. So I try my hardest to not do it to others, I like to think im a descent driver. So being the the last car, I gave the accord a left signal and came over with several car lengths. No snap lane jerks or any of that bull. The woman snapped. Im assuming she was insulted we passed her. I take that back im not going to assume anything in that woman's head. She proceeded to ride my ass for two miles. I tried to speed up firstly, then slow down trick and then the brake check. Nothing would shake this woman, she was firmly attached to my tail pipe. So as im brooding I see several cars in the right lane slamming on the brakes and jerking left to right. What do I see? A 15lb mother F'ing wild turkey. In California. I was sure it was going to bound across like frogger and smash into my car. As it jumped across it looked like my car was doomed. Doing the only thing I could, I jerked my car into the yellow emergency lane. The turkey was inches away from my rear quarter panel and i swear to this day I could hear it gobbling before impacting that accord riding my ass. Pink mist everywhere and shards of glass. The turkey went flying into the air and into the right lane. The carnage was epic, the accords fender pealed back and blew out its tire. Couldnt have happened to a nicer woman.
  15. Looking for a cowl for my 72 240z. Color doesnt matter, must be usable condition with no pitting or rust. Its going in for paint so less prep work the better.
  16. I have the same wheels on my 72 which I want to keep. Only decent tires Ive found in 14's have been Toyos T1r's and hankook RS2's. Ive had both and currently have the RS2's on my GLi. They are similar to the T1r's with out the price tag. 14 isnt a popular tire size anymore. 15's are the "small" wheel size now. Thank god for the Miata classes which keep the 14 inch race market barely alive
  17. On my 72 I am missing the screw that goes through the knob and into the lever itself. It is getting annoying when the choke knob comes flying off while driving. Wondering if any one knew the size and pitch of the proper bolt/allen so I could order it. Thanks!
