  1. This week I continued the body work on my Z and painted the valve cover.
  2. This week it was time to start cleaning up the engine block and paint it up ready for the rebuild. Jeff
  3. This week I have chosen to have a big swing at getting the bodywork on the Z finished.
  4. This week I have got myself some extra valves to replace the dodgy ones I had previously, so I get them lapped to fit and then move on to more body work.
  5. This week I learned a lot more about engine rebuilding and I lapped the valves. I then needed to work out my engines compression which meant CC'ing the combustion chambers.
  6. This week I get stuck in to do the final alignment of all the panels and start the body filler. It is a slow process, but if I want it done right I need to take my time and keep plugging away at it.
  7. I finally threw in the towel and I bought a new repro bonnet for my Z. It took a lot of time, but I finally have it all fitting up the way I wanted.
  8. This week I continued work on the head and the got back into body work on the rear end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sRlGpcl7aC4
  9. The Datsun engine is back!! This week I give body work a rest and I get stuck into porting the head. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajBXF5x7Dfc&feature=youtu.be
  10. Parts for Z's are generally reasonable. Parts for Porsche's are insane, I originally thought I would build my 911 as a track/street car, but I soon learned I couldn't afford the maintenance costs. That said, I have even looked at getting an MX5 as a track car, as they are much more affordable than Z's now, and you can trash the hell out of it without worrying if you break it.
  11. This week is all about the rear end and who doesn't like a nice rear end https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YKZUX48vs-c
  12. This week I have finally gotten to primer the inside of all the panels, and I get on to tackle the fuel flap.
  13. This week I get to see how my wing came out, and it was not as great as I hoped.
  14. This week I planned on painting the epoxy on the inside of all the panels, but I ended up getting side tracked by more panel beating and trying to fit a really dodgy wing.
  15. This week's adventure was finishing up the booth lighting. I then moved on to rust treating the whole car and painting the epoxy primer. https://youtu.be/NUitHBWySDk
  16. I have tried adjusting it every which way. It was more the issue of the front end not being straight rather than adjusting the mounts. It is getting there now though.
  17. This week I manage to do some home built frame pulling and then I rebuild the spray booth. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5iZq18gmu4&feature=youtu.be
  18. That is one of the main reasons I am sticking with the one I have. I think the CF bonnet look is getting old these days and I would spend just as much time getting to fit properly (life the FG one on my 911).
  19. This week I get stuck back into repairing the bonnet and then spend a heap of time trying to get the front bar lined up. https://youtu.be/6fjH2aVIhK8
  20. Glad you guys are enjoying it. That is one of the reasons I don't swear in these, as lots of guys watch it with their kids. I think I am going to go somewhere inbetween, and keep the bumper but make it sit a bit tighter and smoother.
  21. This week I finally finish the roll cage. I also start aligning all of the panels on the Z getting it ready for paint. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rs8r-OfKO7c&feature=youtu.be
  22. I am back into the roll cage this week and I finally get it all together. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra-bqBIAMlI&feature=youtu.be
  23. Happy New year guys. I have finally got stuck back into the Z. Continuing to work on the roll cage this week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYvV8Fny_ys
  24. This week I have started to build the roll cage for the Z, but of course in the process I discover more rust.... AAAAaaaarrrghhh!!! https://youtu.be/T0Je59bdHec
  25. This week I have been fighting with the front end, trying to get all of the parts to fit neatly. https://youtu.be/IrmiyR5RYVQ
