  3. my buddy had a brand new never use or opened f-body oil pan sitting around. I paid $125 for it and the gasket.
  4. I have a set of stock lsx coils. I just want to know what they are worth. I want to sell them but i have no clue what they are worth. I know the msd ones are $640 so i was thinking 200 for the 8 of them.

  6. Im having trouble finding one. Everyone wants an arm and a leg for a stock cast oil pan which should only be worth $60
  7. I have my eye on a 3phase 400amp tig welder. Has anyone ever heard of powercon and are the welders any good.
  8. OK my K member is going back into the car some time this week. I will be placing the motor in and i would like to know what oil pan will give me the best clearance. I have a truck oil pan right now.

  10. it will run 7's if you can get them 60's down to the 1.7 or quicker. Try launching at 3500 to 4000 rpms if your clutch will handle it. Also you might want to look at some Nitto DR. You have got some good MPH but you need more traction just like everyone else does.

  14. thanks monkey. I will be making it out of steel sense i dont think nhra will allow aluminum floors plus if i hit something in the road i dont want a hole in my foot because of a weight savings of 10lbs aluminum floor.
  15. Ok here is the deal. By the end of next week i will be done rebuilding the front frame rails, sub frames, and the extra ladder like system with the sub frames to make the car extra stiff. I am also going to rebuild the transmission tunnel to accommodate a 4l60e with room to spare. I will make and out line around the tranny with 1x1 square tubing and then build over the tranny with the same 1x1 to give it strength and i will add a back bone out of 1x3 that will go up to where the hood latch is and make a suport there to make a triangle around the engine bay. The hole system will tied in from the front frame rails the the rear frame. I do want to know, do you think this will be a good way to go or should i rethink the hole thing. I am open to suggestions. I for got to tell yall that there will be an 8 point cage in the car.

  17. Is that a Drive by wire TB? Those only came on ls2's and vettes. There is no egr witch rules out early ls1's but the later ones came with out egr. Wish we could see the oil pan.
  18. ask him for the head casting number and the block casting numbers. The ls1 and ls2 are almost impossible to tell apart with out casting numbers. Also ask him what year GTO it came out of. The heads should be 243 or 799. I not sure what the number on the block should be. Unless it is stamped LS2. That would be a dead give away.
  19. i have notice that it does make up some rigidity. I will have the full sup frame structure built be for the tunnel comes out to be rebuilt. Under the the seats it will look like a ladder almost. Then there will be 3 ribs and a back bone in the tunnel not to mention that there will be almost like a frame that goes along the floor around the tranny. If i get some way to draw up my plan i will show yall.
  20. Here is some of the work i have done on the car. This is just 5% of the work that i need to get done before October roles around sorry for the quality of the pics but its the best i got.
  21. I do plan on a new tunnel. Alright this might work out how i planned it. Thats a first.
  22. Well after gutting the car and finding the rusty areas that i know about. I started looking at the transmission tunnel and how banged up it was so i have decided to rebuild the tunnel as well. This is going to be a DD/weekend drag car. I want to car to go 7.0 in the 1/8th. I am not the greatest at banging gears so i want to go auto in this car. Now my questions. How many of you have put an 4l60e or 700r4 with your lsx motors and how well did it run down the track. Will the 4l60/700r4 fit in a stock tunnel size so i can use the stock Z seats or will need to go out and find me some different seats. I will post pics of the car once we get the sub frame built and the frame rails in right now it looks like any other car with out floor boards.
  23. What all mods do you have. I know you said you have h/c but what heads and is it still a stock bottom end? Car seems to be making some wicked power.
