  1. alternative rock isnt bad; like linkin park, stuff like that. sometimes rap is good crusing music as long as you dont play it so loud that the speakers buzz, i always hate that.
  2. if i had the money id get a 240 or 280 and put in a new skyline GTR motor and fix that up. then get a sequential tranny and some of those really expensive pillowball mount TEIN coilovers. when u he gets it finished tell him to bring it some shows i would love to see it
  3. i'll be there. ive been looking forward to it
  4. i just plan on leaving the turbo stock or with minimal mods. if i got all the stuff i need from a U-Pull-It lot do you think i could get it all for about $500 bucks?
  5. so i just get the ECU, harnesses, and injectors? would it just be easier just to get a whole intake manifold w/fuel stuff from a turbo and bolt it together?
  6. its the stock 75 280Z head. what does "FPR" stand for?
  7. some falken azenis sports would be good for those wheels. theyre very sticky and best of all cheap!
  8. thanks for the link. since your from the bay area too do you know any place that would do a pretty good paint job and not end up killing my wallet? i only have about $800 to get it painted; or should i just touch up the places were old duct tape had ripped off the paint and buff the rest out ?
  9. i have been to the website http://www.earlscheib.com and i want to get the highest paint job (pro 3 or 6 i think) its on sale for $259. i am planning on doing some bodywork myself (ie. sanding, fixing dents, welding trim holes). does anyone know how well the paint will come out? im not expecting a show-like finish but i want it to look presentable; no runs or lots of orange peel. the paint scheme im going for is charcoal metallic or gunmetal with two 4" light silver stripes.
  10. heres a pic of what i have. its pretty much everything that is attached to the manifold
  11. the turbo is from a 81 1/2 ZX(which was stock) which we bought for $10. i would be adding the stuff onto my 75 280Z NA. could you just get the harnesses and a rising rate fuel regulator? i already have a turbo fuel pump on the car. any technical help or a link for the step by step process would help. even if i cant use it it would be a help because my dad bought a running 81 1/2 turbo for $300 and is gonna put the motor his 280 2+2.
  12. lol. yea i know, its just a consideration for the future. the very distant future.
  13. well i dont know too much about flywheels but i'll tell you what i know. when you get a lighter flywheel the engine will revv faster, it wont gain any power but more of it will get to the wheels. if it is too light the car will have a hard time idling and if it is too heavy acceleration will suffer and you might end up lugging the motor. Motorsport Auto sells high performance flywheels. their flywheel weights 13.5 lbs. and is made of modular steel and aluminum. im pretty sure that they ship out of the country. heres the link. http://www.zcarparts.com click on the online store. its in there
  14. i saw an article in Sport Compact Car where they had put a sequential tranny into a Golf. it said that they were sold by Quiafe America, so i emailed then to ask the cost of a tranny for a 280Z. they said it would be between $6000 and $10,000 depending on how much power you are putting out. thats the cost of tranny plus the adapter, but how much would it be to get it installed? would it be worth the money?
  15. before: after: sorry that the pictures are so big. by the way how much do these wheels weight?
  16. ive seen a V-12 in a Z before so you could pretty much put anything in there
  17. i had just gotten the car running but it had a huge hole in the headgasket, when i slightly revved the car sometimes it wouldn't go all the way down to idling RPM. if i revved it up to 2000 it would stick at 1500, or if i revved it up to 4000 it would stick at 3000. i would have to blip the throttle to get it back down. is there something wrong with vaccum somewhere or was it just the headgasket?
  18. the firebird has a Nitrous Oxide system. when you hit the button and nitrous is sent into the engine the nitrous in the lines vaporize in a few minutes. since the nitrous vapor is much less dense then liquid nitrous when you hit the button again it takes a few moments for fresh nitrous to get through to the engine. to prevent this some people add a solenoid that is connected to a vent tube in front of the main nitrous soleniod. when they engage it it pushes out the old nitrous with new nitrous. they hold the purge button until you can see the nitrous vapor come out. plus it looks pretty intimidating. in other words they eject old nitrous from the lines.
  19. i have everything that is on the turbo manifold, turbo compressor, pop off valve ect. i know that you need an ECU. would a 280ZX turbo ECU just go in place of the stock or would there need to be modifications? i also have a turbo fuel pump on the car already. is there anything else that i need? putting a turbo on the car would be awesome but i dont want to go through a lot of trouble since i dont have much money.
  20. who has that cool OWNED gif? i cant find it anymore.
  21. i had the same question. would 205/15 or 215/15 work?
  22. my father bought a 81 1/2 turbo 280zx. i know that it is possible to put the rear disc brakes onto a first gen Z but what about the fronts w/calipers? since they are vented would they be too big for the spindle?
  23. i have seen the ZG Flares from Motorsport and wanted a pair. would some 215/15" or 205/15" wheels and tires work or would they be too small?
