y'know phyte... if we all did what you did our cars would get so much faster but then again, i'm 5'11 175 and if i lost much weight i'd disappear.
-
hard call... i'm doing the sbc/t56 thing and so have a good no. of others. so my point as far as that is that you have the chance to do something that is very rare in our world. downtime is a consideration, trust me i know... my 260's been waiting for a year for me to make up my mind what i was doing much less how long the conversion itself is going to take. i can relate... i REALLY want to drive my car!!! so my .02.... do the rotary. then come to new york so i can drive it. in the long run, you'll have something very few if even that many can say they have.
-
man, if i showed you all my car you'd have told me to run away fast too! but i went through and made sure it was solid where it needed to be, and ended up spending 1500 on a 74 260 with a very little surface rust, very good interior, some shoddy bodywork, but a rock-solid frame that just happened to run like a$$. now it's torn apart awaiting it's v8 (ah, poor me,right?). but what i'm trying to say is this...1.i wish i lived on the west coast. z's are so much cheaper out there! and 2. look extensively for rust but if it's tight and you can get it cheap BUY THE CAR! the total of your receipts might seem like alot but over time it isn't quite as bad, and in the end you'll be driving something that you ressurrected yourself. i told myself that when i almost sold my 260 for the cost of a case of beer and almost got myself a running car i could enjoy now. besides, the less you spend on the car itself the more you'll have for whatever it needs.

the national z-car convention is up in new hampshire this week. search the web for new england z-clubs and you can find out about it.
-
i'll be there (z-less ), i read that pete paraska's going.... so who else is making the trip, and which day? i'm going up wed. for the show day, just listen for the sound of a really loud 11-month old. like to meet some of you face to face.... get to know more of our little corner of the web.

that poor kid would've been two weeks older than my daughter. these sick sons of beaches slip thru the cracks of the agencies that are supposed to be there to help kids everyday and decent people everywhere are left to wonder how it could happen. personally, i think it's time that whenever a further incident comes out of a cps investigation that deems "everything's fine," the bunch of monkey motherlovers involved should be held criminally liable as well. they don't abuse the kids directly, but they're just as much at fault in causing the deaths of these children. as for the waste of human flesh that could do this to his own flesh and blood, may the rest of his miserable existence consist of being skewered on a daily basis by the lowest hung inmates in the arizona penile system. an eye for an eye is one thing... this scumbag deserves moe than that.

i'm listening to mars volta now... some of the best new music i've heard in a long time. as a musician i'm totally blown away by these guys.
-
to all you texans out there.. any of the guys on this board making the trip up for the new hampshire convention? there's a club out there that'll be stopping by the albany area on their way and hitting a bbq hosted by my friend chris holmes.... just wondering if it's any of y'all.
-
good point mike... which is why when i move into my father-in-laws old house next year and set up shop (big shop ) my bass guitar and drums are going out there too.... and some cheap recording equipment since i write better when i'm pissed
-
so bushido.... the volta is not lost on everyone!!!!!
-
fugazi, system of a down, coheed and cambria, at the drive in, the mars volta, bad brains, minor threat, etc. when i'm amped up. great for driving in and around town, kingston has enough retard drivers that you need sounds that keep you up. when i look for something mellower, johnny cash, hum, jimi hendrix, marley, massive attack, radiohead, not much rap but a good friend of mine has an ep he did and it's some of the best rhymes i've ever heard. so, basically, a litttle bit of everything. thank you, winmx!!

need a thug? i'll fly down and offer my services.... :malebitchslap:
-

-
oh, if only to have 20 milion and a fifty-car garage...... i'd still drive my z!!!!

i need to be more discreet when i'm online. wy wife saw the post and went back off to bed, muttering something about me not getting any for a while. seems i'll be talking to you guys alot for a while.
-
......and if they do get out of that thing, this time they will be grabbing each other's asses.
-
that really has to be some of the funniest s#&t i've ever seen in my life. i can't believe ebay even let them get away with it.
-
have you seen the numbers on those e55's? they're friggin' insane! but who sells a rocket like that without a stickshift option? if i bought one, well, my wife woud kill me. so i guess it's irrelevant.
-
of course. it makes perfect sense.... the human mind is conditioned to eliminate the unnecessary and process only the pertinent information. how else could any of us hold conversations with our women?
-
michael....speedracer........jason......EVERYONE...... i can't say how much i appreciate the wealth of knowledge you guys have laid upon me. i'm finding myself leaning toward chevy and definitely plan on giving jtr a call as soon as some of my turbo parts sell. thanks to everybody!
-
tim... what years did the lt1 come in? i'm definitely going with a t56 but i'm still undecided on the engine, although i'm kind of leaning toward a chevy. either way, i am doing a carbed buildup so if i come up with a good earlier block it won't much matter because the fi will do me no good anyway. with the involvement of engine, suspension, brakes, body, my theory is i have enough to deal with without having to deal with wiring everything. besides, my brother knows sbc's like the back of his hand and i think him and i can get a carb engine to run just as hard and reliable as an fi, if not a reasonable facsimile. thanks everybody.... i'm getting everything i wanted out of this post. all hail hybrid.
-
do you know how long it took to pick the right girl???? great...10 engines that'll cheat on me with other drivers before i get one that won't. ah hell. what you said makes sense, though. i'll have to check out some of the setups the local hot-rodders have done and then figure out what'll work for me. i don't need something that'll run 11's, but i want the optimal combo of a fast driving street car that'll rock on occasional track days. but with the majority of my driving favoring low-end power like it does, i want enough torque to keep me smiling from ear to ear without replacing tires every other week. so... the quest continues. any other opinions?

any halfway respectable h'ware or autoparts store has pb blaster, and i'll vouch for it's results. my old exhaust was a bolt-togethet job in what seemed like 30-gauge aluminum foil that rusted solid, but a merte few hours after soaking withblaster, it pulled right apart. it's my hero.
