  1. aux.. i was looking at that same cell! let me know what you think, and how are you mounting it?
  2. juan... i've heard about those setups... that has to be a friggin' rocket. i'd better not let my wife see those... i might be starting my next project before i finish this one! she had an older 3-series and wants another one bad. shoot me an e-mail or pm... need to hear about the convention since i didn't go ..............bob
  3. those cars are amazing. excellent pickup. how strong is that engine? i've driven one, and let me tell you that thing moved .
  4. i gave centerline a really good look today and i was impressed with the configuration options. prices were a bit steep, but as far as i heard you get what you pay for. summit actually has some nice deals on those. as for the diamonds... a bit too unbling'n. but if i decide to race my car much i'm getting some to mount track tires on... those prices are just too good. but the good thing about centerline... they have our bolt pattern available so i'd only need to run an adapter more so as a spacer in case i (probably) need one. ignore what i previously said about 245 rear... i'm going to take your advice, topless, and go wide. you really do need some meat under that quarter as i've seen from searching around for pics.
  5. check out http://www.wheeladapter.com .... that's why offset and bolt pattern don't hugely matter. they're fully custom adapters/spacers so you can tailor them to the pattern/offset that the situation calls for. i know i'm ging to need width with the yz's... but that's the price i pay for setting the car up the way i want to. besides, the fringe benefits are extra traction for the torque my engine will be putting down. thanks for all the suggestions... keep them coming!!!!....bob
  6. mike... you're a lucky man. not everything the wife will con you into comes with hidden benefits for yourself!!
  7. oh, my god! what a bodykit! and recyclable too!!!
  8. that ultima gtr is sick, sick, sick. i want.
  9. here's a couple sweet ones i found in road and track: http://www.superperformance.com http://www.factoryfive.com http://www.lonestarclassics.com there's a little mag called kit car. i don't know if you can get it where you are but it's like a car builder's bible.
  10. phantom... your wife has the right idea... mine wouldn't want me to half-@$$ it either. i think it all comes down to not wanting to be seen in a shoddy car. . fast z-cars- no confusion whatsoever. i can picture the whole event now and considering my patience for things that don't fit right it won't be g-rated . but i like the extra stiffness that setup has to provide and i might just deal with it for that reason. all i can say is here's to hoping my car comes out half as nice as 99.999% of the members of this forum. if it wouldn't be a logistical nightmare, i'd say we need to do an all hybridz.org car show!
  11. look at it this way... you'd never have to leave the driver's seat to replace a broken belt!
  12. plan b is nice plus it gives you an excuse to replace every 30-odd year old piece of fuel line you have on the car. give summitracing.com a check... the catalog section has a pretty wide range of cells. save that remaining nerve... you'll need it somewhere else on the car.
  13. memory serves you correctly. what a pain in the a$$. at least i'm going with a totally different approach... if i had a hard time manipulating a fuel line i just cut it off. that's the good side of plan b!
  14. i don't think they would have changed the filler, that frickin' thing is huge! i know this because i just pulled mine this afternoon in prep for my work. i got my knowledge from the prez of my z-club when i bought my now-not-to-be-used l28et from him. he had the tank i would've needed and he has done the swap before. however, now i'm going v8 and plans changed just a little. let's just say i doubt sleeper would be a term that will apply......
  15. the '75 and '76 fi tanks, as i've been told, bolt right up. or there's plan b... fuel cell in the hatch, otherwise known as how i'm going to manage to run my dual exhaust.
  16. another thought with getting it around the air cleaner... would a smaller diameter air cleaner help the cause, or is it just too close no matter what?
  17. i got looking into rims basically because i like to have at least a half a plan miles ahead of time. it's a damn good thing that my car needs way too much before the wheels go on, so at least i have time to find something. anyone else have ideas? i have to check out the factory starions.... only hope that with yz quarters they will be wide enough.

    Satire

i was one of the many who responded to the original thread. all in all, it was good to see where people stood and even better to see it was on solid ground.
  19. how about saying down with the bracket and using hood pins? i was thinking about that just because it looked like a royal pita to run plug wires with the latch bracket so close. and i'm really curious about the 2x4 and floor jack theory.
  20. help me! help me! the internet is littered with rice shops selling bling bling on top of bling bling and the widest decent looking rim i can find is an 8! i want to run about a 225/245 or 255 tire front/rear, and i'm having a hell of a time finding a rim i'd actually put on my car with a straight face. i won't go anything bigger than a 17 and i'd like them to have at least a bit of dish. offset and bolt pattern don't really matter as i'm planning on running custom adapters.(wheeladapter.com) any ideas on where to look?

    floor pans

y'know.... somehow i think i don't want to know. :malebitchslap: poor us. we catch so much abuse.... i really used to love new york until they stopped letting us smoke in public. damn pataki.
  22. thanks for the heads-up... i'll use your pic and some trig formulas i learned in the stone age to make some measurements.
  23. well, when the time comes one may have to find out if they have a return policy!
  24. i like!! i bookmarked that one! now you have a fuelie engine, right? what do you think about your front brace fitting over a carbed sbc? because if it works... i'll get that one too.
  25. i'll field this one. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/search.php i think this might've been discussed before.
