  1. I've been planning a very similar approach to widen my z and everybody keeps telling me i'm going to ruin the cars body lines. So glad i saw this, i was planning on going 3 inches out but luckily i found this post, 2 looks great very subtle. 3 inches could have killed it. Sorry in advance for cramping your style if i go this route. Oh and about the bumper i was planning on extending the center like others have posted, but whichever way you go i'm sure it'll look great.
  2. I'll have to check on ebay, all the local shops in miami want around 3200-3600 for a complete s15 swap with the 6speed. I'd rather pick up a hurt sr20det long block for cheap since i plan to do piston and rods either way but i'll weigh my options, thanks for the advice. by the way awesome build
  3. Nice build thread man, I have a good amount of updating to do on my own build thread but I won't be able to do that until I get back home (currently living in China) to upload all the photos. I also wanna run the 6speed tranny but mated to an Sr. If you don't mind me asking how much was the tranny?
  4. Glad to see people are still watching! Here are some more updates as promised. Installed the bad dog frame rails and repaired all the nasty rust from the leaking battery acid. Sandblasted all bare areas (didn't get pictures) and then hit em with primer. Finally the car is fully rust free! 😄
  5. Alright, so picking up where I left off even though I'm not sure anyone keeps up with this thread. Here she is while she was being stripped. Finally and very long overdue she is down to her original state Driver side wheel well and frame rail were perfect, actually there were no surprises period on the whole car. Gotta love the short vin. Now onto the passenger side (battery side) there are some issues from leaking battery acid.. Nothing to crazy though floors are still solid. And then on went three coats of epoxy primer. Well that's it for today, I'll try and update more within the week.
  6. Back from the dead!!!!! I should switch the name of this thread to the zombie build, haha. ANYWHO... Its pretty much been a year since my last post, buttttttt i do have some updates I had to downsize my work space to a one car unit, so i figured this would be a good time to start working on her again. My Fairlady as i moved her to her new home After accommodating her into the new space it was time to decide my next move. The following morning i started calling around getting qoutes for sandblasting, i found a guy, talked some numbers and struck a deal! On her way to get stripped Turns out i still had a lot more things in the engine bay than i thought, so i headed to the sandblsters and got to work on pulling EVERYTHiNG that i could remove. This included booster, master, clutcth matser, steering, harnesses, brake lines, fuel lines... yeah, pretty much everything. I will be either overhauling and refurbishing the booster and master or just ugrading to new & better parts. We'll see what my pockets allow. Here's the bay stripped of all its guts After finishing with the bay i went ahead and removed the doors for complete teardown & removed all remaining interior. Well, thats it for now. She should be fully sandblasted and primered by tuesday so stay tuned for updates from here on out!
  7. There's a 88 shiro for sale in Miami, go to Craigslist scroll to Florida it's listed under the south Florida area. Search 300zx and you'll find it
  8. I have one that someone started shaving the mounting points for the heatsheild off of it and never finished the job. Other than that it looks good.
  9. I need motivation my fellow z'ers!! Still have a crazy schedule that doesn't seem to be changing anytime soon so that means I have to make time whenever i have it to work on my z. So hopefully if all goes well ill try and start working on the frame rail this weekend and pick it back up from there. Slowly but surely. If you see this thread not updated bump it up! Harass me! Cause I will see the email update and it will Remind me to get my butt back in gear!
  10. Damn... Its been a while since i've been on the forums due to my hectic schedule really sucks to see you sold her. I actually came to the build thread section specifically to see any updates on the manifold setup you were doing, but I'm glad to see you got your asking price. Hope to see another build thread in the future.
  11. great progress! Cant wait till i have the time to start cranking on my project again
  12. Just out of curiosity what's your price range?
  13. My poor z is still sitting. this thread saddens me... hopefully we'll see some updates soon. Work and school full time havent left me much time. However i'm the process of another z build that i will hopefully finish soon, once i finish his i will get back into working on mine
  14. The wheel set up looks amazing, love the look of the car
  15. Awesome, Dude! I cant wait till i finish school and can finally get back to work on mine. My poor lady has been extremely neglected this last year
  16. Woooooooooooow... I've always wondered where this car ended up, I almost bought this car from the previous owner, I meet with him saw the car and everything. Made him an offer and he said to let him think on it a bit. Called back a week later said he got a better offer and she was gone. So I guess your the Lucky bastard that snatched her up, glad to see you've held onto her this long. I'll be checking back to see progress every now and then.
  17. builds looking great, its gonna be stanced nice with those 9.5's all around.
  18. scratch that, just read over again. If she's repairable hope you get her fixed up.
  19. Its great to hear her on! I'm sure she will be a beast at the track. Also what kind of bike did you go down on? I laid down my 05 zx10r race bike at a trackday about a month back, fully geared up and still had bruises and burns. But i got her all back together and ready for next weekend
