  1. No one on here can help.. I have read countless articles but am still confused. I just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly and am not messing up the MS since I just saved up enough to purchase it and can't afford to buy replacement parts. Thanks for any help
  2. I am in the middle of wiring my 75 z and I am running into a snag with the igniton wiring. I have a MS 1 v2.2 board with a relay board. I have all of it wired up but I am unclear on how to wire the ignition switch. I am also confused on where to install the jumper into the relay board so I can use the fidle relay to power my ignition signal. All the posts I have read are very vague by only saying to install a jumper. Is there any way someone may be able to post a picture of how they wired the ignition switch and possibly the relay board if anyone is using the v2.2 board. Thanks you guys for any help kevin
  3. I don't believe i did.. but it is possible, i haven't got much experience with megasquirt and am not real comfortable with the tuning aspect. Is there a way i could check if i did load a different version or a way to start from scratch again and erase the mistake, if there is one?
  4. I just finished building my MS1 v2.2 and stim board and have been playing around with megatune and tuner studio. It worked fine all weekend and all my gauges that correspond to the potentiometers on the stim board all work. However today i went and i thought that the firmware i had flashed onto the ecu was older, which turned out to be wrong, so i re-flashed the ecu with the MS extra 029y4 code. The problem i have now is when i open either tuner studio or megatune the tach doesn't work and only one LED lights up on my MS. The fuel pump says its off on megatune and tuner studio, however all the other gauges work like the O2 and TPS and CLT gauges. DID i mess something up or burn out the CPU chip. What could have caused my rpms to quit working when i re-flashed my MS. Thanks for any help
  5. to use launch control does it need to be wired to a switch. I don't understand how it will work and not also limit your free revving or driving rpm's with out being wired to a switch or something along those lines.?? can someone show me where to find the information, I've searched DIYautotune and the megamanual and can't seem to come across anything that explains how the launch control feature works in megasquirt. thanks again for your help kevin
  6. I have been trying to figure out how to set up Launch Control in Megatune, Im just not very sure on what settings to use. Any way someone with Launch control on their megasquirt could explain what values they choose and why. thanks for any help very much. Kevin
  7. I just purchased a MS_1 v2.2 and am curious to how everyone wired their megasquirt into their cars. I am new to MS and could use all the help i can get. Also im not sure how to wire the ignition side to run the MSnS extra code to run my ignition system. Again thanks for any help.. also if you guys don't mind pics would help greatly, im just curious as to how you guys wired up your cars.. thanks..
  8. what model megasquirt are you using MS1,2, or 3 also are you running the MSnS extra code too? i am having trouble with my wiring, if you dont mind how did you wire your motor, what sensors did you use and how did you wire your ignition system to the MS? thanks for any help
  9. the flapper door on the afm will not open at first unless you manually press it open, once you do that you have to keep the car under a slight rev to keep it from closing and dying. what could the head temp sensor do??
  10. its an 82 turbo afm all the electronics are from a 82 turbo car
  11. Look at the swap guide it has a ton of good info and pictures to help... i believe it to be in the FAQ's forum folder. good luck with the swap i swapped the l283t out of a 82 into my 75 280z. its pretty straight forward

  13. can anyone help me figure out how to solve my AFM problems. i have a 75 280z with an 82 l28et swap and i can get it to run only if i push the door on the AFM open and help it get fuel, after that it runs and revs ok. it has trouble idling because the door on the AFM closes and then the car dies due to lack of fuel. is there a way to tune the turbo AFM to allow more fuel or is the unit just needing to be replaced.. any help is much appreciated.. thanks,

I just got done swapping my turbo intake in my turbo 280z with a n42 intake from the old motor. i am not sure if i did something wrong in the swap but the car wont stay running. when i start it it almost immediately dies and if i touch the accelerator it dies instantaneously. i can get the car to run if i squirt fuel in the intake but i cant see how the injectors or fuel system would go bad when the swap only took one afternoon. could air in the fuel line be the problem. i had to empty the fuel line when i moved the fuel rail and injectors over from one manifold to the other.any help would be greatly appreciated thanks..
  16. I am at a loss for trying to figure out my problem. I did the 82 turbo swap in my 75 280z about a year ago and everything ran great for about six months until the turbo seal went out. I then swapped the stock t3 for a t25 water-cooled turbo out of a skyline r33. The problem i am having now is that the car idles and revs perfect, however when i drive the car and put it under a load i drives fine until it switched from vacuum to boost. As soon as it is under boost it kicks and stumbles with no power to be felt. i took all the connections off of the ecu, tps, ect. i cleaned all them and put dielectric grease on the connections but to no avail. the problem still persists and i have read about swapping 300zx ecu plugs for the 280zx plugs. I am not sure how hard this swap is and if there is anyone that can help me with diagrams or hints to the swap. thanks for any help.

    turbo swap

    im in the process of wiring up a 82 turbo motor in my 75 280z and i had a couple questions. on the harness there are 2 plugs on the inside of the car near where it plugs into the computer. i was wondering what those plugs went to. i was also curious if there was anything that i could get rid of from the harness or the motor that i wouldn't need.
  18. im looking for a l283t motor swap for my 280z. really would like to get a complete motor with harness and computer.
