  1. Oh awesome, some flywheels have one bolt hole offset to align the flywheel. Thanks for the help!
  2. How can I tell how to orientate the flywheel if I have an extra flywheel ready to go. Just marking the bolt holes won't work in this case. I also saw somewhere that I should have the flywheel ground not turned. Am I right? What's a good way to clean the entire flywheel without damaging the surface?
  3. I've been thinking about getting NISTUNE, however I'm wondering if I can remove the top speed limiter without something like that?
  4. We are getting off hand here. The idea is to get 5-lug versions, not brand name.
  5. The wheels pictured are SSR XR-4 Longchamps, I see two sets available in 14x6.5 and 15x6.5
  6. Awesome, thanks man. I feel this will go great for my first clutch job! Lol
  7. So the throwout bearing just sits on the end of the collar? Just put it between a vice and maybe a few blocks of wood and squeeze? That would mean the clutch fork goes behind the throw out bearing and the bearing and collar rides the input shaft as one part? I do have the manuals, I guess its just the FSM that's odd, crappy pix. So in the picture in the haynes manual, whats the little knob on the collar? Does it need to be orientated specifically when re-installing?
  8. So I am just about ready to swap the tranny and clutch on my 84 300zx turbo but I have a few more questions. I'm seeing some vague instructions on pressing the new throwout bearing onto this sleeve? Also something about packing something with grease. What is this sleeve in the clutch housing? Can I just tap the throw out bearing on or what? Some pictures and personal experience would be great. Thanks!
  9. Ahh, if only, the combined package would have my wheels stick out an extra 3 inches. Not gonna happen. I need something that will fit without much modification.
  10. City: Welches State/Province: Oregon Price: Trade only Item Description: This is what I am daily driving so it runs and drives great, its 4x4 works amazing as well. It is a 1983 Chevy 3/4 ton, someone did a 454 swap and its a 4-speed. Has dual gas tanks, and full tow setup including a gooseneck hitch. It has a custom headache rack with rear floodlights that stopped working and its not the fuse, I will leave that to you electronic wizards. I have no need for a tow rig so I am offering it up for trade. I will be honest, I was told when I got it that it would get 11-14 MPG, I never got better than 8-9, right now its running rich so its getting 6. All it needs is a new alternator and it should be good to go, other than that small things like the window regulators. It has good tires, new fuel pump, plugs, wires, and heater core. What I am looking for: I will consider any Nissan pickup with a manual trans, any 1984-1986 Nissan 300zx, Nissan 280zx, Datsun 240z, Mazda RX-7 any year, VW Jetta or Rabbit or whatever up to 1998, Subaru Brat, or a pre-1970 Jeepster Commando. I only take Manual trans and daily driver condition, don't have to look good as long as its reliable. Text me at 50three-four15-one51six. EDIT: I was driving today and it was sputtering more that usual and then suddenly it lurched forward and ever since it has been running like a dream so I think it had a clog in the fuel system and its now clear. Not sure if that made the gas mileage better yet.
  11. Oh darn, I'm seeing the ones I posted a picture of go for 500 or less for a set.
  12. I'm not sure if they even exist but what I want is a Nissan 5-lug version of the wheels pictured. Preferably in a 15" or bigger with a +20 or higher offset. I am looking for these or as close as I can get or if you know of someone who can custom make one set of rims.
  13. I need either a perfect set of used battery cables or if you know where to find a set of brand new ones. For 1984 300zx Turbo, Thanks!
  14. I jumped the battery on my 84 300zx because it was dead, but when pushing the ignition it barely turned just a bit. I could watch the belt on the ac compressor turn a few inches. If I held the ignition it would turn just a bit and stop and then turn a bit again and then stop. Each time I got it to turn it made a groaning sound like a very weak starter, so I'm wondering if the starter is toast. Any thoughts? Edit: There was also some green goo near the positive terminal, dunno if that makes a difference. I have a feeling the battery is really old.
  15. Got a 1984 300zx turbo, after it warms up it idles at 5-600 rpm and wants to die, I have to give it gas to keep idling, its a problem when slowing down to stoplights.
  16. Sorry for a possibly stupid question, but whats with the metal ring that came with the rear main seal?
  17. Wish you offered me that earlier but I just bought one.
  18. I'm trying to figure out if a shifter from an 83 280zx turbo, the one with the T-5, will work with an 84 300zx turbo also with the T-5.
  19. I'm assuming they are compatible with the actual tranny but is the shift knob thread the same?
  20. I'm assuming they are compatible with the actual tranny but is the shift knob thread the same?
  21. I found a OE replacement flywheel for 70 something bucks, wondering if its any good. By Sachs...
  22. Will any shifter lever for a BW T-5 fit the Nissan Turbo BW T-5?
  23. I need a shifter lever for a T-5, aka 84-86 Turbo.
  24. I was inspecting my new T-5 tranny and I could pull bits of gasket from around the top cover. Is this something to worry about? If I do need to replace, where can I get one?
  25. Hey guys, I need an extra flywheel for my 84 300zx Turbo. I think 84-86 turbo flywheels will fit so let me know what you got. I don't mind if its bad, I can regrind it myself.
