Wheel Show! Post your pics of you wheels
DarthZ replied to k3werra's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I am not sure either. Nice wheels are nice to have, but what really matters is getting as much (usable) tire in that fender as you can with out rubbing and hopefully keep the unsprung weight down in the process. -

1.) Not mad...confused 2.) The site we are on is HybridZ- an LS2 Miata belongs on HybridM?? 3.) My comment really has little to do with this car specifically, but does have to do will all the stuff I see posted on HybridZ that is not about a Z. I guess I just see it as one more thing I have to wade through to get to more Z information. For Example, however perfectly fit those wheels are, and that Miata's wheels do fit really nicely, it in no way helps any other person in this forum figure out what wheel/offset/size/etc would best fit their Z. While it does look cool and to your point it does demonstrate what proper fitment should look like it doesn't help any Z owners. 4.) We all want as many people contributing to these forums as much as possible. The gentlemen with the Miata should post all he can about his Z. I am sure it is really nice. No offense was meant to the guy with the Miata, they can be great cars and his does look good. If I have in any way offended any Miata owners, I apologize. -

I am not knocking the cars, but why are Miata's being posted on HybridZ? I get when someone posts a Nissan or Datsun of any kind, like a 510 or a skyline, but what do Miata's have anything to do with? If it was a Miata wheel on a Z that would make sense... -

Yeah, i was hoping to find a member that had already purchased a kit, but decided to go a different direction. I will talk to John and get specific pricing dependent on price breaks and specs/pics on the doors and start a new thread.

it is a nice car...looks like you have some extra fender well space...can i have it? -
it is a hollow shell, but i am pretty sure all the regular door hardware can be installed in them. latches, hinges, window, window frame, locks...... Hit John with an email and post back what he says. Oh and anyone that buys parts, tell him I sent you.
-
Oh, i forgot to say that i already talked to John about it and he knows who... I am not disclosing; as the person knows who he is and so does John now and that can be the end of it.
-
Nope, I had actually read that forum and went to check after i got the offer. It was a different guy looking to rip John off / get his money back from his own purchase. I understand the desire to do it, but the Golden rule stops me. I could maybe see someone making molds so they could make their own replacement parts if they figured the originals might get broken while racing......maybe......thats about it.
-
just email John at reaction research. He can get parts out quick and does awesome work. FYI... to all... MODS I don't know how this plays into the rules of this site but a guy PM'd me earlier offering to make some 280YZ knock offs. I guess he just got a set and is going to make molds. 1. Has anyone ever heard of intellectual property? 2. Why would you want parts of unknown quality, when the real deal is available and priced pretty well? That said, if anyone has any real 280YZ parts for sale, or wants in on a group buy let me know and i will keep track of what everyone wants and get back with John about making us some good stuff.

http://www.reactionresearch.com/pricelist.html#280yz click ctrl F and then type "door" and hit enter a couple times, it will take you down to them. They are quoted at $345 each. John Washington, the guy who makes these parts, is willing to work a better deal if we can get a big group together to purchase body parts. I have already emailed with him some about the idea.
-
I would like a full 280yz kit. I know where i can go to buy a new one, but wanted to see if anyone here had one they might want to sell first. I will also be looking for new doors. If any one has any fully-functional fiberglass doors, i might be interested in those as well.

Thanks....Definitely not a stick figure... Maybe a stick figure with a pot belly? I knew the leg room was definitely available as my Dad (Phantom) is 6'4" and he fits a Z. I figure on putting the seat in its full back position and leaning it back a couple notches to find the optimum floor position. Do you have any pictures of the area under the seat? There are lots of good pics of the installed seat, which looks great by the way, but i am curious to see the brackets you made for the seat to attach to. I was mainly worried about there being enough room for my back and rear end. I shopped the C6 corvettes last year and one of the things i didn't like was how tight the seat was on my rib cage.

Hey guys, i know this is an old post, but it has been really helpful to me. Basically i want to know if i will fit in this seat. It looks pretty large. I wear a size 34 pant and am 6'2", 220 lbs. I see a couple people have posted here and am wondering how well you guys fit and your approximate girth . Thanks for any help guys.
