  1. I plan on using my oil cooler, but if I find I can't, or if decide on something different, then I'll let you know!
  2. Here's one quite similar and quite Japanese. As well as quite vintage. Kameari GT Seat Although I have to say, I do prefer the one you're trying to ID.
  3. Terrible title, I know, but this is the most messed up Z I've seen on the internet thus far. Check out that engine bay! DAAAAIIIIMN! Only 10,500 estimated dollars to repair it! Dead 300zx
  4. I've been working on cleaning up this intake while there is snow on the ground and not much else to be done. Since I can't really find anyone around town who wants to sell me an N-42 intake, I've been working with what I have. Thanks to BRAAP for his awesome guide. BRAAPs L6 EFI-induction advice and tips. Here are some pictures of my progress... (I marked things so I wouldn't have to keep going back and forth from the computer all day) I goofed up here, and cut a bit too far into the heat shield mount.(at least that's what I think it was, its been a few weeks now.) I used a die grinder with a cut off wheel to remove the bulk of the ugly bits, and will grind the rest of the bulges off later. The EGR will be smoothed out and welded as well, obviously. I just need to get it cleaned out first, which I am unsure how to go about doing. I am having the hardest time getting the hex bolts from the EGR plenum, and don't know who I'm supposed to clean the inside for welding without removing them. Before I go any farther, I just wanted to have some input and be sure that I'm headed in the right direction with this, and hopefully help someone else trying to do this, as I have learned so much from this site, but contributed next to nothing.
  5. No heat=No heater core, which I happen to need. How much?
  6. That last picture just screams of how awesome this car is going to be when you're done with it. Good luck with everything. Your build will be supreme!
  7. I haven't seen this beast for a real long time! Update fool! And did you ever sell that header you had months ago on craigslist??
  8. Well I've had the car since late July, but have neglected to post anything about it because it seems that I never really keep up with my threads. I will however try very hard to update on this car as much as possible. I got it in non running condition with a broken clutch fork. About a week later, it was on the road and running strong, with only a few, easily fixable problems. On my list of things to do are -Replace Clutch Master and Slave Cylinder -Rebuild or replace Diff (it clunks like a mofo when I run it hard) -Update suspension pieces -Rebuild the engine, or rebuild another L28 for it, which I would've started on by now, but some piece of garbage stole my N42 head engine from behind my house. -Replace Heater Core As funds allow, I'll get crazier with what I do, but for now its just going to be what can be done in school, and what absolutely needs to be done. So far, I really haven't done much. The bumpers are gone and I did what I could to get some color into the terrible paint job it has. I think the 2+2 will be primarily a parts car, unless someone who is into 2+2s wants to buy it. There is just a lot more work needed to be done to that car than I had originally thought. The 240 will likely sit in my garage until I figure out what I want to do with it. I'll update whenever I do something major.
  9. Ha! That is a wonderful find. I bet that's one sick Celica. Too bad I don't have any way of getting it to GF, or $300 for that matter. I think I might try racing my current DD. Which happens to be one sick...... I'm ashamed to say it........ 94 Geo Prizm. Outfitted with some superb traction snow tires on the front. Race ready by any standards really. EDIT: After a quick google search, I have made the amazing discovery that Geos can be cool. NOT! http://carphotos.cardomain.com/ride_images/2/4940/1621/24848310083_large.jpg They probably should've just used that car in the music video.
  10. I'd never heard of them until now. When I looked on their myspace and saw that they were touring with lady gaga i just closed the tab. And drum machines are bomb! Well the one on the program I use is cool. I also play real drums though. Like she'd admit if they were fake anyways!
  11. I hate the autotune, but whoever they hired to do their beats succeeded. Sounds very good in that aspect. I highly doubt any of the clowns in that video actually had anything to do with the actual music. Your car looked superb though. Much better than that girls fake boobs!
  12. It is extremely true, take your time. It's hard, (well not for me, I can't afford anything anyways) but the longer you have to plan it out, the happier you'll be, and the less money you'll waste. If I had bought all of the junk for my car I initially wanted, it would've been a huge disappointment. Why is it that people use so much bondo? It makes no sense to me. My car had an inch thick shell completely around it. Well that's a harsh exaggeration, but there was quite a bit.
  13. This suit is black (pause) NOT! That's all I could think of when reading your post. If you get the allusion... Borat Good to know that the Cartech is a piece of crap. I really know very little about turbos, just thought I'd post to see what everyone had to say. That ad has been on C-List for months now, I think he sold a wrecked 240 for like a grand. I mean the whole front end was smashed! And who's going to believe that a non-rebuilt L-24 is worth $750? That's just ridiculous $600!!?!?!? I wish I wasn't a broke jobless teenager, I'd be all over that.
  14. http://www.clickspokane.com/z/ Looks pretty interesting. Not sure about the price, not that I could afford any of it anyways. If it is actually a good deal, hopefully I can help someone out up by posting it on here.
  15. I like the way the front air dam looks, from the front. From the side it it much too large, I think anyways. The rear just throws me off and confuses me. I don't know whats up with it, but it just bugs the crap out of me. And good luck with the grinder. Hopefully you don't run into any too unpleasant discoveries. As you are bound to find something. People seem to enjoy bondo way too much. It was over an inch thick in some areas on my car. Like on one of the fenders. It was nice looking with primer on it. Got through that, found about a half inch thick coat of that stuff covering almost the whole thing. Only dent i could find was about the size of a quarter. Just doesn't make sense to me. Alright no more of my unrelated rant. Good luck man.
  16. Good luck on your Z. My first car, still sitting in my garage stripped down, is also a Z, only it's a 200 dollar beast. I hope your project gets on the road faster than my will, its been the most agonizing thing I've ever experienced, not being able to do work on my car because I don't have the funds. Hopefully I can bug my dad enough to loan me the money for my floors. Anyways, I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. If you need any help finding parts, I know all the sites, just let me know. Good job getting rid of that atrocious body kit. I don't know why I used to think those kits looked good.
  17. Just take any part that's not totally useless and try and sell it on here. From those old pictures it looks like some of it may be salvageable That's what my undereducated mind says you should do. That car looked vicious though. Like it was ready to eat a crowd of unsuspecting people.
  18. Diggin the beats. FEM's got a gnarly sound. Never heard of them until now. Appear to be pretty famous though. Maybe this video will increase the value of Z's. Ha!
  19. After almost a year of waiting, the project is starting to pick up. I had a thread on it before, but it was in the wrong place, and many things I wrote were pretty naive, so I decided to start up a new thread in the right spot on the forums. I've been doing plenty of reading on the site, at least an hour a day on here, so don't let the low number of posts fool you, I'm not as big of a Newb as you might think, not to say I a lot about everything. Alright then, enough rambling. I've been sanding the car down, breaking through the surface rust to see what's underneath, and I must say that I'm pleasantly surprised with the condition. Looks like it should be on the road within a few months. WOOHOO!! Under the bondo and surface rust i found the quarter panel to be in better shape than i had anticipated. I'm not entirely sure what to do with it though. I know that I want to put ZG's on it eventually, so I don't know if it would be best to buy a quarter replacement, make my own fender to bolt the flair onto, or just cut out the rust and place a flair on. The dogleg is rusted out, so that will need to be replaced, but overall I'm not too sure where to start here. Same with this side, it isn't as bad, as it was protected through the years with an inch coat of bondo, but still not sure what my best option would be. Floors are shot, big surprise there. I'll be getting new pans, just not sure where from though. Anyone have a preference between Zedd Findings and MSA's floor pans? Well that's it for today. I'll upload more pictures as a find interesting things to photograph.
  20. Two80z4me, Fairgrounds this weekend, you going to be here? I'd love to say that I was prepared to "throw down" and "whoop" you, among other things, but unfortunately both cars are not in a state of running. I'm beginning to think they never will be. Or at least not until i get a job... Anyways sorry for the off topic post. Hope to see you there!
  21. The front seats of 2+2s are different? That sucks because the ones in there are pretty trashed. The backseat is however in great shape. It looks like its been folded down for the majority of the car's life or has been replaced before. As for other parts, i haven't gotten to look yet. It had just cleared up the day i started this thread and was going to take some more pictures and stuff on Friday, but it decided to snow 8 inches overnight, so that didnt happen. And I dont mind that the back seats are tight, its not like i'll be the one sitting back there.
  22. well as a 2+2, i see it as more of a cruiser, and i'll race it only until i have something else. and i really mostly got it because i wanted a 2+2 so i can drive more people around when i need to. and how exactly do you know? i suspect something's broken?
  23. My second Z-Car was purchased sometime late last year, and i feel i need to show it some love because it has been so neglected, i mean i dont even remember the month in which i bought it! I took a few pictures from when i got it, but haven't had the chance to post them. The car was purchased from a craigslist ad, and just as my 200 dollar 240, it lacks a title. Things have been holding me back on doing anything with it, such as a garage filled with my 21 year old-still living at home sister's stuff, 2 feet of snow, and newly discovered rodent nests in the glove box and mouse crap all over the floor. The snow has cleared and i hope to clear out the garage and break out the shop vac for some interior sanitation procedures. Along with the car came a seized up L-26 and a supposedly running L-28 that appears to be in good shape, neither of which are in the actual car. Plans include a SBC swap and eventually to be plum crazy purple. But thats to be a long time from now. This will be my car to drive while i work on the 240, because i like 240's better and i want to spend more on it than this. And a whole lot less needs to be done here. I havent really had a chance to check things out very closely, which is unfortunate, but managed these pictures. When i get to doing anything, i'll update.
  24. nice find! cant wait to see what you make out of it. nice s30 by the way. i like what you did with the back bumper. keep us updated!
  25. i did go and take a look at it and im likely to get it. just having to talk my parents into loaning the money. the guy selling it is a really nice dude and he took down the ads until i make a decision. in the next week or two its likely i'll have z car number 2 for 200 dollars. this ones much much much much more worth it though. worth way more than 200. and a 2+2. so yes i'm pretty excited for it. i would've taken pictures but it was pretty dark by the time i got out there. alright enough talk for now. i'll post when and if i get it.
