Not much power just a wider rpm range to have a bit more to work with when drifting 6400 is kind of short unless you are making 250-350 hp then its ok not to rev high but when your working with a stock engine probably putting out like 150 at the wheels the extra 3k helps id have to say if i would have actually upgraded the bottom end and just replaced the bearings the engines would probably have lasted longer usually the rod bearings always spun the mains always survived. Swaping to clevite 77's is the optimal choice but i just never did it. then again i was picking up engines for 100-250 tops the bearings themselves go for 75-90
  3. your going to need a 240sx KA if you plan on doing the swap. you can buy a blown or spun KA out of a 240sx for less then 150 you need to transfer the heads and everything including the 240sx timing sprockets and chain tensioner's ect. accesories sensor's besides the shortblock onto the altima engine and wala you have a good engine that will fit perfectly into an s30 with minor clearance issues on the front crossmember. tranny bolt holes are the same This is actually what i do when i blow a KA its a good way to get a non abused KA to just pull an altima engine that was an automatic break it down to a shortblock and just keep swaping out shortblock's also you get a leakfree engine in the proccess =) No more little drips/pools in the garage =) engine mounts are the same

Any car can be set to rev higher then normal my stock KA when i had it only rev'd to 6400 or something like that i had my ecu tweeked and had the redline reset at 9400 car was run NA like that and i usually got about 6 months off the engines. I doged the engines out though so i never expected them to last long and they all had stock internals and most of their life running close to 9k rarely every had it pinging off the rev limiter but 9k was deffinatly better then the stock cut off. i know of a few people on florida drift one in particular 8-12lbs of boost on stock bottom end that the rev limit is set for 10.2 k some engines that you get are just freaks of nature and last forever then again sometimes you get a lemon. Sorry to bring up an old post but that post about ka's not being built ok for high rpm kinda pushed my button when i ran my car daily and hard at high rpms. if i didn't dog it out i could say that engine would have out lived me.
  6. I have a 74 260z and a 78 280z and im running the tail lights off the 280z on the 260z they bolted right up so i dont think fitment is an issue they were a perfect fit.

I had an accident in my s2000 where someone hit me at a stop sign i belive it was farmer's insurance they kept giving me the go around and trying to just patch up the front bumper straiten out the hood and bondo the fender at one of their repair shops when i had a completely original 2002 honda s2000 with 44,000 miles ended up having to hire a lawyer. End to the story was me getting my car properly fixed with Genuine honda bumper head lights fenders turn signals ect. and got a nice little settlement to pay for the depriciation on the value of my car since it was in an accident and was no longer an accident free car. got 5200 aside from getting the repairs done properly and getting the entire car resprayed to color match it properly. Id say if the car doesn't have any accidents on its history get them to pay for ruining the cars resell value. when it comes to insurance companys i used to get screwed when i was first driving but that stoped now i make sure i get compensated for everything. My time is valuable and my cars mean the world to me.
  12. Is your bleeder valve tight? brake line? mabe it backed off a little at the track I've had this happen before.... expecially after a recent fluid change. Little tip when working alone trying to trouble shoot put a camera in different angles around the car and start video taping and press the brakes until you find where its leaking from. little tip i learned when i started living on my own...
  13. ive blown many engines in my 240sx usually one about every 4-6 months ( i dog the SH** out of them) i've always gotten the difference between a rod knock but never really heard one at idle like that only under a little acceleration idk thas just me

  15. Sooo... who is a good supplier to get weather stripping from ive gotten the drift on Black dragon so MSA is the only other alternative? the datsun restore page has everything spread out and almost all seals are 80 and up PER pair... kind of pricey...

  17. Well ive decided to work on the 260z and get it driving within a month with temporary patch panels. I was hoping i wasn't going to get a car this bad but now to test my skills i guess i have one bad and one HORRIBLE. But hey everyone has to start somewhere right? Ill be trying to pick up a 240sx some time within 3 months or so when i manage to find a job.
  18. it would take me like idk whenever i get a job to get the money to buy 2 right now ive been looking for work for 2 months with nothing and ive even applied at wendy's and burger king... still no work things are rough in Fl. im about willing to take any job as long as it pays
