  1. Hey, here are the specs. 280zx motor p79 head flat tops 280zxt dizzy MS2 Extra 2.1 GM CLT / IAT Stock 280zxt Injectors Stock 280zxt Turbo Walbro 255 fp Stock Boost 9.3:1 Compression Looking for a tune to get it started, post table pictures if you can or PM me. Would be awesome! thanks. Sean.
  2. Yeah, I had to sit back and think about that for a minute. I felt really dumb afterward haha
  3. Went back to the drawing board and fixed the wiring! Sam280z, thank you! I installed a spare GM starter I had and voila, we have life.
  4. so I removed the two 12v constant wires and just let them sit where they wouldn't get any power what so ever, went to hook the battery up and same result. So I'm thinking it could be the Black 16 gauge wire left over from the stock ecu, on that terminal there are... +Battery Cable +Power for Fusible Links (converted to fuse boxes) +(assuming) the black wire is power from the ignition, but could it possibly be getting tripped out by having nothing telling it what to do and free power?
  5. Could it possibly be because I don't have the tune installed yet on megasquirt ECU? I have it hooked up but I was just going to test all the wiring and such before I put the tune in and tried to start it, just to make sure the starter and the power wires were hooked correctly, as I found they are not lol
  6. Nothing was changed in the install, I simply wired my two 12v constant wires to the post on the starter that the positive battery cable goes to. I did not change how the ignition was getting power, nor did I change any wires over other than the simple megasquirt install.
  7. Hey, so when I hook up the battery as soon as I touch the negative cable onto the battery the starter starts going, nice to know it works, but not how I want it to lol. So, here's how I have it wired. 12v batt to the megasquirt board from the same port on the starter that goes to the positive battery terminal, and the fuses. The other 12v constant from the same point goes to the 12v on the dizzy. the key on 12v goes to the same one I have radio hooked to, so that shouldn't be a problem since the key wasn't in either. Thanks, Sean.
  8. careful now, Tony D might make something you don't want.
  9. Now, as much as the JDM vendors who want me to pay $300 and up for their fender mirrors will disagree... there has to be another way? I found some 300SL Mercedes chrome bullet fender mirrors that had very similar dimensions to the "Z" specific ones, but at a fraction of the cost. Would these still be a option?
  10. Great news, the pulley arrived today. I spoke to sticky finally and he was out of town due to family (wife) issues where he didnt have a access to his email. I guess I should've called his cell in the first place. Thanks for all of the help everyone, specifically JSM and Nash for the great deals if it had fallen through again. I'll be donating the money I was about to send to Nash for the 4th pulley to HybridZ. Have a great one guys, this pezt should be alive and well soon.
  11. I 2nd that first post, I've been jonesing for a pullover hoodie like evilC has
  12. It was way beyond that, the thing legitimately shattered.
  13. I'd check out technotoytuning.com , drifting is their thing and their parts are top notch.
  14. alright, and that works because I want to give it a couple more days if it does manage to get here... I really appreciate all the input from you guys, thanks a lot.
  15. Datsun "ThE Butler" This was pretty well done, was effin hilarious too haha. Enjoy.
  16. yeah, since I'm making custom rails I could always swap the seat back and forth between stock and these. Till I can buy Corbeau's that is...
  17. This could be interesting... I've drifted my Z on pavement for a little while, nothing competitive because only about 6 times out of 10 your going to get a clean pretty drift. Because of said angle lock its kind of a P.I.T.A... In order to build a turbo motor, I reference people to corky bells book. In order to build a drift car, I reference people to the internet... back in highschool my senior project was on drifting, and since doing that I've learned alot to help not just my driving but how to set up the car. I suggest you do the same. I support your journey, regardless of dumb luck and money, or the ability to learn.... Good luck! It'll be nice to see another joining the few of us who drift S30's. (PS, be prepared to have your neck take a beating, this isn't your buddies S13 or FD)
  18. I thought it was placed in the rear of the motor in the flywheel area? maybe I'm getting confused with my old saab 900 turbo, its been a long day...
  19. Considering the auto parts stores could barely get I didn't think to look at the ebay stores. Some of them worry me though because its not a damper, the damper is internal on the L series motors. If they can't get the term right, can they send the right part?
  20. How did you like them in your car? They sure aren't going to be nearly as comfy as the stock Z seats on my road trips to seattle, but hey its a sports car. haha
  21. Hey, I picked up a set of these Summit Racing PolyPro Highback Seats for free, I'm going to order the leather covers for them here soon so they aren't so plastic looking. Any of you guys running these? For what they cost and how much they weigh you really can't beat them for bare bones track seats, and with the covers I think they'll look pretty sharp. Perfect for a Datsun, the shape is almost identical to that of the S30 stock seats, excellent dimensions for the Z Cock-pit. Just have to fab up some kind of rails... but then again it wouldn't be for a Datsun if you didn't have to make it. the covers I'm ordering expose the 5 pt harness holes however.
  22. The 240 crank pulley has a different diameter belt that it utilizes, the 2 row from an L16 I'm not sure. @emerald he seemed that way on the phone, by saying he had one out and ready to go could very well have meant "I have one I can pull and send to you eventually". All things work out in the end, its just very old considering this has happened to me 3 times now, the other 2 had legitimate reasons and refunded my money, but I find that this time the $80 + $12 priority mail I sent will not be refunded in any way shape or form. Should've just sacked up and payed the $300 for one from O'Reillys.
  23. Thank you, you know me oddly well. A 2 channel crank pulley. Mine shattered in the -20 degree weather.
