  1. I am nearing the completion of an F54, big turbo buildup with lots of goodies that will be installed in a road course car. Will I experience any pcv system, "oil dumping into the intake system", problems that my 90TT VG30DETT engine has always been plagued with on track? Should I eliminate the pcv system and or plumb a catch can into the system? The VG engine dumps oil in hard right hand corners and blows smoke big time. If I'm going to experience similar problems with the L6 turbo set up, I would like to address it prior to installing the engine.
  2. Someone posted a picture and instructions with a diagram / measurements of a custom, LSD brace that would allow the use of the "finned" differential cover. I have been unable to locate dimensions and would be greatful if someone could post them. Arizona "Dave" is not ready to make them quite yet and I have searched and searched this site and all the other usual suspects. My LSD is ready to install and I am faced with having to fabricate one so that the finned cover can be unstalled. I know that I have seen the dimensions posted somewhere and hope that I don't have to "reinvent the wheel". mayolives@aol.com.
  3. I met Mike at Virginia International Raceway the past weekend and need to contact him. I don't know his user name. How can I contact him?
  4. I just recd. my Ferrea P90 valves from Flatlander Racing. The exhaust (#F1841) were $21.00 each and the intake(F1840) were $20.00 each. Also, I purchased ARP bolts from them. Flatlander had lgood prices and they were nice to work with. Good luck!....mayolives http://www.FlatlanderRacing.com 24 Elm Street Plaislow, NH 03865 603 378 0090
  5. I am interested in the turbo header and DP. Please keep me posted as you progress.....mayolives@aol.com
  6. I have decided to use the Electromotive Tec3r engine control system for my turbo project and I have talked with a dealer on the West Coast who is very knowledgeable, has installed many Electromotive systems and will supply one to me at a discounted price. The problem is, I live in SC and would like to deal with someone closer to home who could tune the system and deal with any problem that might arise after I install the engine. Can anyone recommend a good dealer here on the East Coast who could help me? Thanks,...........mayolives. PS: This Message Has Also Be Posted On ZCAR.COM
  7. I have checked with Nissan Motorsports and Arizona Z Car. Their ss valves are for earlier heads and will not work with my 1982 P90 head with out some mods. The head will be used on a torbo set up and will maintain stock height. I know the custom valve peaple could make the valves but they will cost a small fortune. Does anyone make a ss valve that will fit other than the custom folks?.....mayolives
  8. I spoke with CV Products in Thomasville, NC yesterday. (1-800-448 1223 Carl Bennett) He estimated the cost of a dry sump system to be between $1500/$2000 depending on which parts you choose. Investment could be small compaired to frying a good motor due to oil starvation...mayolives
  9. I have searched but have not found an answer regarding the difference between VISCOUS and Clutch type LSD rear ends. Could someone give an explanation? Thanks, mayolives
  10. I am ready to order JE forged pistons for my F54 block that will be used for a turbo project. I planned to only bore it .040 over but is there any good reason not to bore it more? I have read posts about of weak stroker motors that have been bored to large and come apart too easy and I don't want the same problem. I am using a P90 head with a schneider cam that has it best power between 3000 and 6500 RPM. Also I want to stay around 8 to 1 compression ratio and will be using a good engine management system. Can anyone provide me with an experienced opinion about how much the F54 can be safely bored? Thanks for your help..........mayolives.
  11. Several days ago I posted a question about a certain West Coast supplier and received a number of replies stating why I should not do business with them. I am in the process of building an F54 turbo motor and will be spending several thousand dollars on internal parts and engine management system. Please recommend other parts suppliers who can help me. Thanks for your input, mayolives.
  12. My F 54/turbo building project is ready for internal parts. Top End Performance offers a complete "engine rebuild package" for $1895.00. Is this a good deal? Can anyone recommend another supplier with better service or prices? I would like to hear from others who have done business with Top End Performance and their opinions. Thanks for your help. mayolives@aol.com
  13. Can someone provide me with a "link" to the L28 engine calculator? Thank you, mayolives
  14. I've searched and found conflicting info about using an earlier intake manifold vs a turbo manifold for my turbo engine build. I have an F54 block, P90 head and will use forged pistons, hybrid turbo, wastegate, boost controller, new engine mgmt system, etc., with target specs of 300 RWHP. The earlier intake manifolds had a lot less junk on them and will be easier to clean up. Which is best for my application? Thanks for your input..mayolives
  15. I have searched but have not found post about "Do It Yourself" head porting and port matching on the L28. Where can I find information on the subject? Thanks, ...mayolives
  16. I am in the process of building a turbo engine with an F54 block and a P90 head. After searching/reading many good pages of information on this site, my game plan is to have 300RWH. I have talked with Rebello Racing and Sunbelt Performance about doing the headwork. I'm sure that both shops can do a real good job but both are very expensive. Can anyone recommend other shops that I could talk with that do good work and might be less expensive? I live in South Carolina and I would like to use a shop in the Southeast. Thanks for any light you can shed on the subject. .....mayolives
