Thanks, so that's one for the P90
-
My bloc is a F54 with flat top pistons, header + twice pice, I have a P90 shaved 0.4 with shims I have a 1972 US E88 std I have a 1973 Euro E88 std Should I shave 0.4 more out of the P90 and reshim Use one of the E88 just changing the seats for steel ones and call it a day, or while I am at changing the seats go for bigger SS valves? If so where on Intake or exhaust? I am running 2 SU TBI modified so I will not starve for fresh air (the SU are just 2 big holes!!!! with any fuel I dare to inject) your 4 cents...

I am trying to fix all the small issues I have during the winter. One is with the brakes. I have 280ZX front brakes and calipers, 280ZX brake booster and master cylinder. I still have the 240Z check valve. My pedal travel is very long but the brakes are good. I had a look at my check valve and it's reversed if I compare with the diagram from the service manual. If I put it the other way the brakes are very firm, no pedal travel but I have almost no stopping power! ????????????

What if you shave the P90 shim the towers but keep the P90 valves?

Sorry, I couldn't make it to Le Mans I tried very hard but this system need a 60A alternator, as I discovered too late, I should have figured it before, but hey that's the fun of it, no? So here it is, fuel injected SU I mounted 1 GM injectors in both SU. I have a GM ECU that's monitoring sensors for MAP, TPS, Water, LAMBADABADA, and Coil. The thing is 100% stealth for the novice I think. My idea is to have the standard looking car but with the driveability of a modern car, good gas mileage or crazy Mapping for the track... Lot of tuning to do but it is running very strong until the battery drains out!!!! fresh air the only thing that give a clue I will hide it later TPS and SU still keeping the SU's dome MAP sensor Pièce de résistance the GM injector under the SU's dome et voilÃ

I am about to fit an electric fuel pump for a custom EFI 240Z. The usual rule is to have the fuel pump near the tank pushing fuel. I would prefer to have it in the front for ease of installation and noise factor On a 240Z is this rule really critical? It's not a limo after all, and the factory one is ... pulling fuel all the same, no? I have an inertia switch for the fuel pump in case of any encounter, so I am not too worried about security.

After thoughts, here's the easiest plan I came up with! I have all the parts minus the injectors, would it work, at least on paper? I understand that sticking the injector in the plenum would reduce the air induction a bit, yet maybe not enough to really hurt the flow that much! I am not looking for 300 HP I would be happy with 200...

Merci TonyD I do not intend to use a turbo, Right? I used the pict only as a ref. for the whole sexy 3 carbs layout! I assume than you did a fair amount of skunk work on this matter So tell me... the easiest way would be to drill the manifold, the thing is a bit longer than a cannon yet, I ma unsure that I could put the injector with any angle... is it a real no-no? AS for the injectors, wich one would be the best? I was at the race track yesterday with a 3,1 monster on the wet... I wish we had a TBI system with a map for the rain... no fun to use onlu 25% of all that raw power

And what injector should I use with this combo????
-
You got me thinking there! I am planing an FI L28 and almost settle for the SU TBI. It's a f54+p90 combo milled 1 mm + rally cam. 280ZX EI. 6/2/1 exhaust. I figure if this combo work well with Ztherapy SU it should perform even better on SU TBI. Yet I also have a spare canon style manifold with 3 dirty Dellortos 45 that I would not trust to use as carb again. I also have a spare 280ZX manifold. Do you think that welding the canon manifold on the zx base and using the Delortos without anything else but the butterfly and TPS would make a workable set-up, with MS of course. A sleeper SU TBI is fun, a sleeper 3 Delortos TBI is awesome

Hello all, I am after a V8 source for a friend in the US CAR business around here... Do you know a serious wrecker that could sell honest products! With 6 000 km between us it's not when the engine is out of the cradle that we want to find out it's crap It's for 8-10 engines a year...

I was working on a rear spoiler trick... I just love the clean-deck look with the Datsun and 240Z logo. I also like the rear spoiler on a 240Z...? So in order to use them both on my liking, I took off the badges and glued them on thin a magnet base, that way I can put them on and off like I want, it's strong enough so it wont move, and it's quite hard to take them off, the trick is to slide them out! And I shaved the bolts from a spoiler I had in my barn, filled the inside of the spoiler with foam in order to hide 4 verry strong magnets in the foam... Then I closed all with bondo for a clean look and a thin sheet of anti-slide rubber on top to protect the paint... and voilà ! So I just have to pull the badges ans stick the spoiler when I want it! I tested it up to +-100 mp/h but I need to see what it does at full speed! Photos ASAP I need to find my camera... Hope it's not in the foam

Is it a direct bolt in? I have this rebuilt l28 auto in my barn, I would love to use it in my 1972 240z auto... (I save the 5 speed swap for later). Is it a direct swap, what parts should I need? I am only referring to the tranny there in order to have all the parts I need BEFORE... The L28 is set-up with 3 delortos, a fast cam and a 6/3/2...

I have a leaking 1983zx... the leak is coming from the 2 steering boots. I have changed all the seals, it was fine for a day, then this morning it's leaking all over again? Any thought? Help, thanks, Fred

nop, nada your side of the pacific... you would have to go to Japan... They have only the 82-83 one... It's not as good lookin' as on a S30 so, for me the shape is too busy VS the clean s30... here you go... http://www.restored.jp/130Zparts.htm

250 euros... and I can bring it to Le Mans Classic... You're coming, right? One 240Z should race this year...
-
I am putting my spoiler for sell again, due to a time waster buyer! It's the real thing, made of steel not frp... Samuri look anyone? Make me an offer, the thing is France, so you need to be creative for the shipping...

Thanks, I will try with a good alternator... the battery is OK
-
Nothing????? If you cannot give me hand... maybe a finger?
-
Worse and worse, or maybe... Now it's the battery that doesn't charge enough, so it caugh, then the wipers go on????????? and it dies! If you plug a booster everything goes well, then after a while caugh, wipers... Could it be a faulty regulator? Could all this be related to the alternator???? The car is sold, so I must fix it ASAP or I will have to give the cash back

The comp is in the lower 10.x For HP, the engine will give a few pony for the air-cond, but I don't care for numbers it's more a whole thing I want... and I will improve more the drivetrain&brakes than the engine bay! My coilover are going back to LEDA for 5 more years of abuse... I have ZX brakes with a ZX master vac (not the best but lotta better)
