  1. Hmmm, I guess you are right! What are the options... Feelpro, or OEM, or ????
  2. the 2 mm are quoted from my Z engine guru... "Dave JARMAN " in the UK My question was really is it safe to re-use the gasket ( 'cause a good one take years to find here in France!). I can have the shims machined here!
  3. I have bebuilt a L28 but it still on my engine stand! I would like to go back to the head to port it and shave 2 mm off! May I re-use the head gasket? The engine had never started and never been runing with coolant!
  4. Ok now could we be more specific So I need : - Megasquirk (wich one) - Is it coming with all the harness ready to bolt - I have a spare laptop used presently as a weight paper! - Injectors (are the one I have good enough to get full usage of MegaS?) - I have my Cam it's a britt one made for Street/track day and 3 carbs, still good? Or FI ask for an other profile? - I have my nismo header - What about sparks??? The ZX dizzy is fine ? It's like learning all over again... this is fun!
  5. I am more concerned by the apparent mods... The one that can be really obvious like my old BAE turbo kit is !!!!!! If I dump the AFM I don't think they will notice it... they just don't know this car. But the NA system is notified on the car's paper! As for gas... I run on 98
  6. So with a Megasquirt I could bypass the AFM ? It doesn't need the info from the AFM ? If I understand, the one from the turbo ZX is bigger... so once it's empty of all the internals, it's like a plain empty chamber? Should I run some kind of PVC tube inside to keep it clean and smooth? Clould I dump it and shorten the air tube to bring the K&N closer to the TB ? I don't think the guy from the MOT would pick-up the difference with and without a AFM, while they spotted obviously the Turbo #^$!§!
  7. Thanks a lot... it brighten my day! Keep the info coming. MERCI
  8. I have a 1983 NA engine, and would like to push it to the limit of the sleeper concept! That is, stock looking but upgraded components... I already have a 60mm throttle body, Rising rate fuel regulator, K&N, I plan on using the camshaft I had for my triple delortho set-up… and of course my 6/2/1 header and twice pipe (for the sound). I am not after 250 hp, just the max of a stage 2 concept. I think my cam would need more fuel than the stock ECU can manage… do you think a MEGASQUIRT could help me run larger injectors, or manage better than the actual one… Has anyone used this stockish route before? I need to have a stock looking engine bay and can not use turbo anymore (too much hassle with the French cops!)
  9. I have seen chrome molding from motorcyle windshield... not as silly lookin' as U might think! A cross-way path
  10. Do it, there is still 1000's of ZX around, so why no try it as long as the ZX kind is not in jeopardy! As for myself I would love to see a 280ZX 2+2 molded after the shape of the ferrari 400... That would make a nice 4 seater!
  11. What kind of spec does your pump have? Do you monitor the pressure?
  12. How do you route the oil line on such a set-up? Is there enough pression to run back the oil?
  13. Ok, what if... one use one (sevral) electric tire air compressor... the pro one make up to 17psi... and run multiple hoses (6) close to the injector in the manifold... Just wondering!
  14. I see a big + It would be easy to start the lubrification before starting the engine... and stop it with a timer... without having the engine runing... not a good idea when your not around!
  15. I have this old BRE kit I plan to fit as soon as I have all the parts... Just miss an other manifold... I am suposed to fit a lubrification system for the turbo, ok! I don't really want to mess with the oil pan removal, been there, done it before and it's just a long pain in the A.. So I was thinking of using an external electric oil pump, and build a close circuit with an oil cooler dedicated to the turbo cooling ? Pro... Con... Thanks
  16. I need a few bits before I bolt the kit on "Blues bother" I need the boost switch, the one that raise the fuel by tricking the cold switch. Where can I find one? Or an other alternative? Do I need to use ZX Turbo injectors? What is the Ø of the oil line going from the oil sender to the turbo, how long do I need? I need to find the turbo "blanket" a place to find it ??? Merci, Fred
  17. MERCI for the pict. Another question: would it be usefull to use OEM or equivalent turbo injectors with this kit? Or is ti a waste???
  18. Any one have a spare copy of the manual? That would help me a lot...
  19. In fact, picts could be useful as I don't have anything but the parts... and would like to save time on the guess and try... One question is about the lubing... the return oil is going back to the oil pan? Right? I dislike the idea of drilling the pan, may I use my oil cooler as a return point? That would save me a lot of swet... Fred
  20. Sunday driver... I am looking for period correct mods for the ZX... I don't need to get 300hp out of it... Have you any pict of you engine bay? Merci Fred
  21. Shouldn't you on your way to the Post office ????
  22. I have this old BAE turbo kit coming for my ZX. Any ifo on this set-up. Improvement? What about BAE are still in business ? Thanks, Fred
