  1. I am being drummed out of my 302 powered 280Z at 1500 & 2300 RPM under load. Tried softer exhaust mounts- no help. The system consists of block hugger headers into 2 2.25" pipes to a 4' long 3" pipe then splits into 2 2.25" pipes and mufflers.

The description you provide on your exhaust set-up is interesting at best! Are you saying that the two headers feed into a single 4' long 3" diameter pipe and then slits into two separate 2 1/4" diameter tail pipes? If so, you my consider installing a race type bullet muffler in the 3" diameter pipe to attinuate and change the resonate frequency of the exhaust. Typically on Mustangs, to resolve this issue, the pipes come straight off the headers and out the tail pipe, but a crossover pipe (H pipe) is positioned between the two tail pipes shortly after the exit from the headers.

  2. I've got an interesting idea to resolve this type of issue! Install a PHALANX systems on top of the White House and leave it active 24/7.....problem solved. Sure, there will be some idiot that gets shot down because he is an idiot and the passivists will cry foul, inhumane, morally wrong, etc., etc., but quess what....the idiot didn't crash into the White House. Maybe then people may begin to think before doing!!! Most days I feel like I'm surrounded by walking illiterates (just stupid clueless people).

  3. Forrest, I couldn't agree with you more!!! All I will say is....keep your barrel clean and your powder dry, for when the time comes to really defend yourself! Our government is growing closer and closer to a tyranny! The problem, as I see it, is that the vast majority of americans just won't take the time to get involved or just don't care to get involved to actually control the government. However, these same people (sheeple) are the first to complain about what transpires. The people of america are just getting too complacent.....too fat, too lazy, and are a bunch of whinning cry babies.....GO FIGURE!!!!

  4. Anyone have any good recommendations on which products work best for cleaning grime and grease marks out of light tan colored leather. The leather seats that I put in the Truck are in need of a good cleaning, otherwise they are in great shape. Never had leather to clean before and I suspect there are hundreds of products out there in the parts stores, some likely work better than others......

I believe most high grade leather suppliers will recommend mild soap and water....then let it air dry. After it drys, work the leather with CLEAN hands to soften it back up. It works well on my leather furniture anyway! Just another idea.

  5. I'm no expert on this subject but, the RB25DET is an inline 6 and this conversion has been done more often than a VG30DETT, which of course you know is a V6. For sure the RB25DET will fit in the Z engine compartment, as far as engine width is concerned, easier than the VG30DETT. As far as which conversion is more cost effective.....I can't say. Have you taken the opportunity to search the archives here, on the RB conversion...as it may shead some light on the subject. Someone who has done this conversion may chime in with some answers. Just out of curiousity, where do you young guys get the $$$ to take on such an effort?

  6. Bikes can't pull sustained G's in a turn like a well set up car can.

Of course bikes are hard to beat accelerating out of the corners.

Have that discussion with Valentino Rossi or Matt Maladin!!!

Shoot....just read the spec sheets for the differences...they are right there in front of you!

  8. From what I know, the torque of a bolt is based on the bolt design itself. When properly torqued, the bolt (or stud) will stretch a predetermined amount and at that specific torque, provide you with it's maximun safe strength. Going beyond a bolt's design limit overstresses the bolt and can lead to premature failure. If you want more torque on your head, think about purchasing a set of ARP head bolt...and use ARP's recommended torque...and of course a good head gasket.

  9. Ok I haven't seen any money back yet. The seller is avoiding all of our calls and wont return messages. So my question is how do I take this guy to court and do I stand a chance of getting my money back? The only thing I have on paper is the description of the motor from him. I paid in cash. But i do have Tim as a witness of the money paid.

Somehow I think your SOL!!! It's a tough lesson to learn....letting your emotions stimulate a transaction without doing your homework. The guy you purchased the engine from is what I call a BOTTOM FEEDER....lowlife scum SOB. He took advantage of your youth and inexperience and your emotions pushed you into buying an engine you really wanted but ended up with a hunk-O-junk. Salvage what you can and move on. I would be quite surprised if you get your money back. Did you even get a receipt? I think you can forget about legal action....sorry!

  10. I wouldn't feel guilty about it....you certainly didn't twist his throttle for him and you didn't cause him to run wide in the corner!!! And if by chance you do have the ability to control things....I'd love to have you use your gift to magically breath more HP into my engine. Sounds like the guy just got in over his head. Live and learn!
