I've got an interesting idea to resolve this type of issue! Install a PHALANX systems on top of the White House and leave it active 24/7.....problem solved. Sure, there will be some idiot that gets shot down because he is an idiot and the passivists will cry foul, inhumane, morally wrong, etc., etc., but quess what....the idiot didn't crash into the White House. Maybe then people may begin to think before doing!!! Most days I feel like I'm surrounded by walking illiterates (just stupid clueless people).

Forrest, I couldn't agree with you more!!! All I will say is....keep your barrel clean and your powder dry, for when the time comes to really defend yourself! Our government is growing closer and closer to a tyranny! The problem, as I see it, is that the vast majority of americans just won't take the time to get involved or just don't care to get involved to actually control the government. However, these same people (sheeple) are the first to complain about what transpires. The people of america are just getting too complacent.....too fat, too lazy, and are a bunch of whinning cry babies.....GO FIGURE!!!!

IMO, it doesn't matter what clutch assembly you use...they will all fail at some point if subjected to countless hard launches.

Tim, you missed your calling....you should have been a comedian. I laughed right out loud on that one. Musta been a reach around......

Lucky find! Congrats to you. If you get a chance, post some pics. I have s/n HLS3002126. These early Zs have a few items that are only particular to the 70 and early 71 Zs....like a speedo that starts at 20 mph. There are others however.

zcarnut, thanks for the correction.....age has it's advantages and disadvantages.

IIRC, the single v-groove balancer is a euro balancer and the accessories (alt. & waterpump pulley) may require a slight realignment of up to 0.125" forward. SFFT! (some food for thought)

I'll second that emotion John! Hey, I hear that if you turn your engine off you'll improve your gas mileage by an infinite %!!!!!

Azguy, that rust may have come from the hood vent. Regarding the cleaning of the Jet-Hot coated headers....just wipe them down (when cold of course) with just about any mild cleaner. The coating is very durable. I friend of mine who owns and runs a trophy truck, his headers still look good after much desert abuse.

Hey John, my tires are certainly not race tires (good read) but I feed my Yokohamas back-top! If I try to feed them too quickly they complain a little, but I think they like it! Thanks for the post.

Anyone have any good recommendations on which products work best for cleaning grime and grease marks out of light tan colored leather. The leather seats that I put in the Truck are in need of a good cleaning, otherwise they are in great shape. Never had leather to clean before and I suspect there are hundreds of products out there in the parts stores, some likely work better than others......
I believe most high grade leather suppliers will recommend mild soap and water....then let it air dry. After it drys, work the leather with CLEAN hands to soften it back up. It works well on my leather furniture anyway! Just another idea.

Under powered and over weight.....and UGLY too! However, If somebody will buy a piece of toast off Ebay....somebody will buy this car for sure!

Still have some if you need any.
BTW...they are good for at least 20 extra Horsepower!!
Yah, I noticed that right away Tim!!! So folks, don't waste your hard earned cash on a TORNADO (air intake goodie) when you can look cool and gain 20 HP by simply installing the HYBRIDZ decal on your Z.....hard to beat at any price!

I'm no expert on this subject but, the RB25DET is an inline 6 and this conversion has been done more often than a VG30DETT, which of course you know is a V6. For sure the RB25DET will fit in the Z engine compartment, as far as engine width is concerned, easier than the VG30DETT. As far as which conversion is more cost effective.....I can't say. Have you taken the opportunity to search the archives here, on the RB conversion...as it may shead some light on the subject. Someone who has done this conversion may chime in with some answers. Just out of curiousity, where do you young guys get the $$$ to take on such an effort?

Sure. Doesn't really matter who the rider is. More an issue of physics.
You are absolutely correct about the physics of it all.......I guess you didn't see the humor in my comment!

Bikes can't pull sustained G's in a turn like a well set up car can.
Of course bikes are hard to beat accelerating out of the corners.
Have that discussion with Valentino Rossi or Matt Maladin!!!

From what I know, the torque of a bolt is based on the bolt design itself. When properly torqued, the bolt (or stud) will stretch a predetermined amount and at that specific torque, provide you with it's maximun safe strength. Going beyond a bolt's design limit overstresses the bolt and can lead to premature failure. If you want more torque on your head, think about purchasing a set of ARP head bolt...and use ARP's recommended torque...and of course a good head gasket.

Ok I haven't seen any money back yet. The seller is avoiding all of our calls and wont return messages. So my question is how do I take this guy to court and do I stand a chance of getting my money back? The only thing I have on paper is the description of the motor from him. I paid in cash. But i do have Tim as a witness of the money paid.
Somehow I think your SOL!!! It's a tough lesson to learn....letting your emotions stimulate a transaction without doing your homework. The guy you purchased the engine from is what I call a BOTTOM FEEDER....lowlife scum SOB. He took advantage of your youth and inexperience and your emotions pushed you into buying an engine you really wanted but ended up with a hunk-O-junk. Salvage what you can and move on. I would be quite surprised if you get your money back. Did you even get a receipt? I think you can forget about legal action....sorry!

I wouldn't feel guilty about it....you certainly didn't twist his throttle for him and you didn't cause him to run wide in the corner!!! And if by chance you do have the ability to control things....I'd love to have you use your gift to magically breath more HP into my engine. Sounds like the guy just got in over his head. Live and learn!

Hey.....stranger things HAVE happened. In Henry's case it may just be the most economical housing he can afford....get drunk and you are welcome to stay for free...what a deal!

Callit a hunch but, I think ole Henry Earl just likes the juice. Down in the dumps and can't pull himself out of it....defintely could use some help!

Quit calling play tolerance! It's not the same thing! Aaaaaaargh.
Good point Drax! Ok, how about....too much tolerance = play! Or, tolerance = the difference between the allowable maximum and minimum sizes of some mechanical part. Or, tolerance = the amount of variation allowed from a standard specification.

Full scale engine in a 3/4 scale P-51....very cool. Nice gear reduction for the prop! Do you happen to know what airport that is?

The description you provide on your exhaust set-up is interesting at best! Are you saying that the two headers feed into a single 4' long 3" diameter pipe and then slits into two separate 2 1/4" diameter tail pipes? If so, you my consider installing a race type bullet muffler in the 3" diameter pipe to attinuate and change the resonate frequency of the exhaust. Typically on Mustangs, to resolve this issue, the pipes come straight off the headers and out the tail pipe, but a crossover pipe (H pipe) is positioned between the two tail pipes shortly after the exit from the headers.
