  2. Cary, Any more info tyou can provide would be great. I'll start researching this now...
  3. The new heartbeat of Sacha Grey! Little bit of tech info...Callies Compstar forged rods/crank, SRP pistons, L92 Ported heads with this bullet cam: I'll be running a drysump, LS3 intake and a host of bits and pieces. I am re-using my TKO600 trans, and I will be installing my Tilton hydraulic release bearing instead of the clutch fork/wilwood pul style slave I previously used. Mike
  4. I bought a set of mounts from these guys and will be attempting to use them... http://dirtydingo.com/store/index.php?cPath=1_206_305_321 I plan to modify the final product once I get the motor locate ideally in the chassis and the mount tabs welded to the frame. Kit was about $160 shipped. Mike
  5. Picked up the LS3 based powerplant this morning in Hopewell Va. Somehow it didn't reach the depot 20 minutes from me, but hey I'm just glad it is here. Posted in my build thread in the Chevy V8Gen III section, including the cam card. Thing is going to be a beast. Mike
  6. Motor is at the depot, unfortunately 90 miles from me, which pisses me off. Was supposed to come into the depot 20 minutes from me... Ugh... Anyway, I should have it home, unloaded and on a stand tomorrow. Mike
  7. Got the word today. My 403 stroker LS3 is on its way... Let the next version begin!!!
  8. Fn Awesome!!! I just got the word my motor is on the way!!!
  9. As I told you offline, Glad you are OK. I wanted to ring you, but figured you had more important things going on. I'm pretty surprised at your weight, knowing what my car weighed before I dropped weight with the CCWs and the smaller/lighter batter/dash/fuel deliver redesign. Mike
  10. The flares are from ZforceCreations and the wheels are custom CCWs with 11.5 rears (5.25 offset) and 10 inch fronts (5.0 0ffset fronts) Mike
  11. I am down to shifter bolts and a pair of trans mount bolts and the motor and trans will be out. Two hours worth of work today and I made excellent progress... Hope to have the LS3 next week and starting fabricating mounts. Mike
  12. Zack, it appears that we wont be there. We also won't be at Charlotte or VIR due to Charlotte Xmas light display taking the whole infield up, and VIR repaving has relegated them to Patriot course...
  13. Got a message from the builder that the motor will be ready later this week for shipping. Good timing since the check for the 383 stroker arrived today.
  14. Well I will start now... Shipped price of the long block minus "tins" is $5950. Thats the Callies Forged Compstar crank and rods, SRP forged pistons and rings, installed in an LS3 aluminum block with ARP hardware, L92 heads hand ported, Bullet custom cam, top line valvetrain parts, assembled and ready to go. I have $500 in the ARE drysump pan, the headers I bought from Keith for $1200 and that is it so far. Mike
  15. November is shaping up to be really busy for me... I am shipping out the 383 stroker, getting the 403 stroker LS3, Racing at AMP Nov. 2 and 3 with Chumpcar, instructing with DriveLabs for the Helmets off to Heros event for vets and wounded warriors on Veterans day, and then back at Charlotte Motor Speedway November 22-23 with Chumpcar. I hope to get the 403 mocked up by December!! And oh yea, I think I should really start to think about overhauling the chumpcar motor in the escort.
  16. Gang the motor is coming from a reliable source through a friend who has been using them from this builder for a number of years. Can't get into the specifics just yet. Mike
  17. Yup... 403 stroker LS3 has been ordered. It will still require the tins and induction, as well as the rest of my drysump, but it should scoot. The dynosheet shows a wonderfully flat torque curve and 553 ft# torque. 575 HP and 102# less weight on the chassis should be wondeful. Expect the powerplant to be delivered within the next two weeks. Its got a Callies Compstar crank and rods, SRP pisonts, a bullet cam, L92 Ported heads, and ARP hardware. Cant wait to get it in and start the process... I will be using the FAST XFi, the 1 3/4 long tubes I got from Keith, most likely the NickWilliams 92mm tbody and the ARE drysump pan I picked up from Marc Icard! Mike
  18. Matt, I greatly appreciate the kind words. As I advance towards leaving the current career and moving on with the next chapter in my life I hope to make that transition into something related to motorsports. Working with guys like yourself, and assisting in providing such results certainly bolsters my confidence. I am hoping to have my new motor next week. Once it arrives, I will be able to start the process of building out and swapping the 403 stroker into the Z! Mike
  19. Love it love it love it... We took a lot of abuse from others sniping and yet, there you are... 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. I have also taken some abuse for my coaching from some paid well known coaches whose drivers didnt do nearly as well. Go figure.
  20. Matt, It was my pleasure. I posted my perspective in my thread below. I was at a wedding on Saturday and I was watching the timing and scoring via my phone throughout the ceremony and reception. I want to thank you again for the opportunity to work with your team and would gladly do it again! Mike
  21. I have to admit gang, After this weekend working with Matt and his monster, and knowing the directional changes I am making, I am encouraged on what this platform is capable of and just how close the two cars feel, driving one and then being in the passenger seat of the other...
  22. Congrats on the Saturday Results in both races! Cant wait to see how tomorrow turns out! Mike
