-
No i dont mind... it is definetly not cheap...i bought a compete drivetrain...motor mission diff and a bunch of accessories for 4500.00. the motor is capable of 600HP with no internal mods. i have a total of about 15000 into the car and im pretty sure itll run low 11s when setup in teh current stock setup (engine). But we'll have to see here are some more pics http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/stonehac?d&.flabel=fld3&.intl=us&.src=ph&start=1

some pics for people who have asked http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/stonehac

oh by teh way the car made it in one piece with only a small scratch on teh rear bumper that will buff out;> running real good. allthough a car in need of an alignment running wrinkle wall drag tires sucks in teh snow ;
-
joe... sorry was in a hurry. ill catch up with you later i have a cable modem now so always connected but may not be at the computer just leave me a message
-
it was kinda undercoated. it will be in a garage most of the time in alaska

no tricks here.. this was a stateside car originally. But anything older then 25 years is exept from any of teh customs and DOT inspections that a newer car is subject to. A friend set back a GTR and it cost him 15000.oo thru motorex

hey teh RB motor will bolt right in if you can get a set of 300z rb motor mount (block side ) and rubber mounts. Youll need to get them form someone in japan as this engine wasnt avail in the states. l8rz stony

Hey i agree it is a readily available engine and its strong. It should fit... overal dimensions are about teh same as teh rb motor but im not sure. AS for better then the rb-26???? Im not trying to start a flaming thing but the skyline powered cars in japan are and have been dominating just about every class. either way you decide to go though should have a very fast Z. Somebody asked me about torque and turbo lag on my rb-26 a while back and all i can say is torque is very good and lag is nonexistant:> im sure teh toyota engine will be the same. Allthough some may say that the cost is too high to justify a swap like this but if you look at teh cost of getting a carb L or turbo L in teh 400+ hp range i think No im positive itll be cheaper. now keep in mind im not talking about any of you guys out there that have a shop and have the ability to build and L engine very cheap. Im talking about the everyday joe that is building his car in his own garage. well ill stop now gotta go l8rz stony P.S. remember im not trying to start an arguement just my inputs. If i had come across a 2jz motor myseld i might have done that. My friend Matt is starting a project soon on a old mustang . he is going to install a toyota 1U V-8 and twin turbo it.... that should be interesting ;> I believe in the states its the v-8 in teh lexus over here they are a dime a dozen

well took the z out for tuning and playing and it runs great. I was totally surprised.... i expected it to run strong but its alot stronger then i thought it would be. It was really easy to setup using SDS and at stock booste i waxed a full tuned 3.1 skyline (old one) that was tuned by a very well known shop here on okinawa. I cant believe how hard teh Z's launch. Being an old FC3S owner wheelspin was pretty much the norm of teh line. Im running M&H racemaster 275x50x15 and the thing is deadly of the line. The car is now on its way to alaska dropped it off at the port yesturday :< But over the next year or so will be installing rollbar and strut bars hopefully stiffening the chassis up. Anyone have any tips for making teh chassis stronger|? Turbine upgrade and upping injectors to 1000cc with some mild cams is being worked now but prabably wont happen for atleast a year or so . in the end it should be up around the 550+ hp range. also have some more pics i will post shortly. Oh by teh way anyone in teh okinawa area needing SDS install or any type of welding i highly recommend Matt Hutchins Of Propulsion Motorworks He's ausome and i think he is the only guy that is straight up and will get the job done right the first time l8rz stony

motorex is a ripoff... i can buy a fulltuned 700+hp r-33 gtr for teh price they want for a stock r-32 anyways here are some new pics car is running and running strong ;> @ 8 PSI it was like riding a dirtbike for the first time... you know when you hit the gas the wheel comes up you hang on which makes you give more gas and and it nearly throws you off teh back ;> well anyways i was impressed and its still not totally setup that is this weekend ;> later stony http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=35383844 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=35383843 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=35383840

wholy cow.....im so lucky ;> went to measure the driveshaft to see how much shorter it had to be and walla the damn thing bolted right up ;> So here is teh bolt in combo for teh rb-26 conversion motor mounts = Z-31 rb-20 mounts. tranny mounts custom made driveshaft = front half of teh r-33 gts-t 2 piece drive shaft diff r-200. im going to mod the gas pedal so it also can use the z-31 rb-20 throttle cable. as soon as i get my injector plugs will be ready to fire it up '>

Id have to agree that much money my rb-26z would stop it and just about everything thing on teh raod for that matter ;> -
should be turning the ket this weekend ;> here some new pics. still waiting on inj plugs fro injectors but beside that teh harness or lack of looks ausome. still hjave to do intercooler piping and upper rad hose http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733466 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733465 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733463 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733462

oh yea dont for get about teh exhaust. twin turbo down pipe was really tricky. fit fine just gtr down pipe dosnt fit and has to be custom made to teh Z stony

Since im pretty much done with teh rb-26 install heres some tips. Youll have to make an oil pan or have the one on teh GTR (Aluminum Diff housing) cut and fabed into and oil pan. for teh z teh sump and oil picup have to be reversed which is a pain in teh ass ;>. as for motor mounts teh z31 fairlady z came with an optional rb-20 in it. teh oil pan and right motor mount get you a good starting point for teh mod. teh left mount will have to be made. for transmissions anything but an r-33 GTS-T tranny would be a serious weak link in teh drivetrain. this mission is exactly teh same internals as teh gtr just not 4wd. If you dont have an r-200 lsd or better youll need to upgrade that. Engine management.... SDS best way to go and also teh cheapest unless you have access to teh wireing diagrams for the gtr to figure how to hook up the stock ecu. all in all i think its a really good upgrade. i dont think you could get a turbo L to 400+ HP fro even close to what i have into my car and mine will be a reliable daily driver at that. Bolt on a t-78 and upgrade injector and your looking at 500+ Hp at low booste settings. BUT IF YOUR NOT IN JAPAN OR HAVE ACCESS TO ALL TEH JAPANESE PARTS YOULL NEED I DONT RECOMMEND THIS SWAP. I would say at least 50 % of teh stuff i was able to do really cheap wojld cost an arm and a leg in teh states becaus of teh lack of parts. anywyas if your still interested here is a couple of links to my latest pics. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733466 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733465 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733463 http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=33733462 oh yea this is a us spec Z teh motor fits fine ;> stony

Hey does anyont know of any z clubs in alaska? i leave japan next month on my way to alaska for 4 years and cant find anything on teh internet ;< i was also wondering if they do any kind of racing up there thanks stony

i understand teh weight thing but why an sr-20? if you wanna do a swap and get 300 hp reliable do an rb-26 dett. I'm about a week from getting my running. teh engine is bone stock turbos too. the only thing upgraqded is injectors (720cc) engine management (sds) and intercooler (Trust 2 core) and at .8-1.0k booste the motor will produce a very streetable and relible 400+HP !!! only drawbake is teh engine is expensive if your not in japan. mine was 3000.00 but ive seen it as high as 7000 in teh states. ive attached a url for a pic of the engine in teh car http://albums.photopoint.com/j/View?u=1278065&a=9886019&p=32569673 have fun with whatever you do stony
-
Great choice.... 400-500hp with stock tubos and motor. im in the process of getting mine running. gonna run either 720cc or 1000cc injectors. but its gonna be real hard if your not in japan. motors are running in teh 7000-8000 range in teh states. good luck stony

if your gonna go for a swap go fro teh rb-26 dett. a stock rb-26 will get you well on your way to low ET's check the rb-26dett thread stony
