  1. i like the color of the car. just take out what i highlighted and the link will work.
  2. oh really, so can i bolt up the vette heads and intake and pretty much have a vette engine? Man, im so confused with these chevy engines. this is my first chevy engine. They have all been ford in the part. I think i need to do some research before i sell the engine huh oh yeah, i want to see the video too. all i have is the Darius Vid. Man, that car is nuts.
  3. what will my 240z run in the quarter with my stock LS1 and a r200 out back(still in the works)?? i have a ls1 out of a 99 camaro but im going to sall that to my buddy for his project(77 camaro) and i am going to look for a 99+ vette engine. it better run atleast low 13's
  4. i left it for a week so that i didnt get those bubbles in my clear. that is a pet leave of mine. I signed up for autobody so as of next november, i will begining my jouney as a body man.
  5. Yeah, i took it to the body shop and they said it is actually a decent job for my first ever attempt at painting. He said it would take a lot of color sanding and wet sanding to get it looking nice. i also have to sand off the clear. im an idiot, i cleared it without sanding the base coat. anyway, the color i chose is kind of growing on me. i guess we will see what happens. The project will be put on hold for a while, because cash is running short, so i have lots of time to decide.
  6. they are alright, but not to my liking. they look tiny. ill stil with 17's or 18's. Although, those rims would make a good set for a road course or auto cross. im not a drag racer so thick sidewalls arent that important to me.
  7. So hot rods are rice huh? thats the first i heard of that. almost every hot rod has 18" or larger rims and they use it as a daily driver. I could care less if someone snickers behind my back because i choose to run 18" rims. I dont like 18" wheels because its "Tredny". The reason i like 18" wheels is because i like to see large rims and very little rubber(3" max. sidewall). If anything, the anti-ricers are hypocrites. they ALL are bashing them because it is "trendy" which is the supposed reason that the ricers are getting bashed. i dont bash people who have small rims, and i dont see why people bash people who choose big rims. I have tons of friends running 18" tires on their mustangs, camaros, rx7's, ect. and the ride in their car is wicked. the truth is, the only place that 18" rims will hurt performance is on the track, and chances are, if you can afford the big wheels, you have a second set of wheels meant for the track. The 18" wheels with 45 series rubber does NOT ruin the rims over pot holes unless the person is going really fast, in which case, that person deserves the damage they get. ok, thats my rant.
  8. 15's and 16's are too small. they look tiny when they have low profile rubber.Id gladly take a SLIGHT loss of drivability for a set of 18's, but i will most likely go with a set of 17's.
  9. lol, i just read that, and it does sound pretty bad. im still gonn go with no less than 17's
  10. I don't want to get in the middle of this, and I have no real opinion on the wheels....whatever floats your boat, but: I think you just gave a very succinct definition of what "rice" actually is!! but not everyone has a car to be a race car. Some just do it for the fact that they like ther car...like me. Oh well, call me a ricer, but my car will still spank most mustangs and camaros on the road
  11. i think anything under 17" is ugly. I dont see how 18" rims are rice. I personnaly like to see large rims and very little rubber. To me, bigger rims just set the car off. But thats my opinion. It may hurt performance and give a shittier ride, but i love how it looks. I dont like the "Rice" look either, but i hate how people label anything that they dont like as rice. "Hey, you put projector lights on an old car...ohhhhh, thats rice" I think everyone should just appreciate the time and effor that some one put into their car weather it is rice or not. We all do this for the same reason...the love of our car. Thus, we should support eachother with whatever that person may choose to do to their car.
  12. How come its a hunk of crap? I think that car is sexy as hell.
  13. oh, thats your ride? thats wicked man. I love the stance. how much did you lower it and how is the ride? I was thinking of an air ride system so i can drive anywhere, and lower it when im cruisin.
  14. nope, that is the only pic i have. i got it off of car domain though.
  15. maybe ill go with 17's. i want my car LOW...like this one.
  16. the paint is very VERY wavy and had major buildup around the locks. It has about 2 dozen runs in it and the color sucks too. No tangerine for me.
  17. im not sure. I went to a body shop and asked them for enough stuff to paint my car. Im going to leave it to the professionals this time though.
  18. not at the moment, ill try and borrow a camera off a friend.
  19. So, is anyone here running 18" rims? if so, got any pics? i want a set of 18" rims, but i dont want them to look too big for the car.
  20. Finished painting and buffing and it looks like crap. Oh well, ill try again.
  21. YEah, those are some good points. Im going to do it that way. Im just not sure if the color that i chose is going to look so nice on the Z. its a weird color i saw at a custom shop one day. I guess i will know when im done. thanks tom
  22. Ok, well, its time for paint. At first i wanted to paint the whole car the same color(under, over inside, ect.) but then i thought, "What if i wasnt to paint it a different color later...maybe i should paint the underside, inside and under the hood flat black and then do the outside of the body the color i want". The second option would allow me to pull the engine easy if needs without wasting a lot of money on repaint if i nick something. So, what do you guys think...everything or just the outside of the body??
