  1. nevermind, i found a good site http://www.automotivearticles.com/Suspension_Design_2.shtml
  2. yeah, but if it was an alignment problem, the car would pull to one side even while not on the brakes.
  3. alright, since this place is loaded with people who reallyt know their stuff, i thought i would ask here. What is the best suspension setup for a solid rear axil? 4 link with coilovers? 3 link? i know nothing about suspension and i cant seem to find any good reading material. even a link giving info on a bunch of different setups would be nice. this isnt for a 240z, its just out of curiousity.
  4. i own a 93 aerostar with the 4.0 and 4wd trans. good low end torque, not much top end though. i wouldnt bother with the swap.
  5. ok, a little while ago somone posted a link to a silver Z that was up for sale on Ebay. It has a cowl hood, billet grill, no bumpers, tons more. It was an amazing car but i cant seem to find that post using the search function. Anyone have any pics of this z?

    Rear suspension

What do you have for exhuast on that?
  7. how many miles? a low milage 5.0 w/harness and ECU goes for $600CDN in my area.
  8. i asked my 5.0 buddy and he says they had Aluminum flat-top pistons swirl port heads(E7TE in mustangs) Lower-lift cam (fuel economy, torque) 50mm throttle body stock(60mm in mustangs) 14# fuel injectors(19# in mustang) standard flow upper intake(better breathing intake on mustangs) Factory exhaust manifolds 150 hp (155hp in 1988 only, w/dual exhaust)
  9. 170hp, 270 ft/lb torque(mustangs have 225hp, 300 ft/lb's), 8.9:1 compression ratio, and as far as i know they have cast pistons.
  10. yeah, if you want a high RPM engine you should stick with the OHC import engines(inline 4/6, Infiniti VH45DE) or one of the modular ford V8 engines(96+).
  11. Hey, i noticed that there isnt a nitrous section in the "engine components" forum. i was wondering if it would be possible to have one made? might help a few people out if they were wondering about nintrous intall, best system to use and stuff thanks, tom.
  12. IMO, the best 5.0 engines(if going to use EFI) are the 89-92 engines. The86-88 use Speed density(unless its a california car, in which case it runs mass air which is a good thing) and 93-95 use crappy Hypereutectic pistons. 79-84 -175hp rating -non-roller blocks 85 -first roller block -600-cfm Holley carb -210 hp rating (automatics still used CFI) 86 -roller block -forged pistons -first year of speed density(not a good system) -stiffer block -crappy heads 87-88 -roller block -forged pistons -First year of the E7TE heads which are pretty good for a stock head. -still uses Speed density -225hp rating 89-92 engines(88 california cars have mass air too so they are good as well) -forged pistons -roller cam -mass air(much better than the speed density that came with the 88-below cars) -225hp rating 93 -changed to Hypereutectic pistons -power drop to 205hp 94-95 -HO engine with E7TE heads -Hypereutectic pistons (not sure about power rating) hope that helps
  13. Lex, your car looks amazing and those rims REALLY make it pop. What are the specs on those and if you dont mind answering, how much are you out for a set of those?(not like i could afford it anyway). By specs i mean backspacing and such. Also, what are the specs on the wheels? hat picture is on my desktop, i absolutly LOVE it.
  14. Not at all, i have a buddie running an r302 in his mustang and he has absolutly no problem with cooling issues.
  15. Painlessperformance.com has a "standalone" type harness for the 5L 302. I was going to use it in my v8 RX7 swap before i decided i didnt like the car.
  16. Alright cool. Im going to see what i can do. I think ill get it done professionally because i want it to be safe. Ive wanted my z to be completed for like 4 years now. Its time to get this thing on the road again.
  17. Is it possible? Here is my situation. I have custody of my nephew, and i have a doberman pinscher. I dont want to scrap the whole 240 idea, but if i cant get some rear seats in my 240 then i will have no choice. Anyone ever done this? i searched but nothing came up.
  18. the 94-95 upper intake goes out ot the left and then curves forward.
  19. Well, there are many ways to boost. Some cars make it easier than others. Such as honda's. Their windows come right out of the door jam making it very easy to get inside. Then all there is left to do is to pop the ignition and get going...lol j/k
  20. Nope, 92 was the last goo year for stock 5.0 engines. Im not to sure out van/truck engines though.
  21. I hope you have like $60k+ for a 4 rotor
  22. $500 is quite a bit for a used 5 speed out of an 84. I got a complete 5 speed out of an 92 for $300 canadian(thats how much they go for around here). it came with everything you mentioned, plus a driveshaft and crossmember.
  23. So, how is this going? pics, info, anything?
  24. the turbo is the easy part. Just find a place where it fits and make the piping to work with it.
