  1. Thank you very much for the replies. So that means I don't need either the IAC or the knock sensor. I won't tune it to the edge of knocking anyway. And yes, I would just use other persons bin files as a baseline, and tune from there on myself. Thank you very much!
  2. I have bought a Tec3 system to put on the 280ZXT engine. Also a 240SX throttlebody. My question is: do you have the iddle-motor that can be bought and used with the TEC3? Is this a necessity for me when I don't have A/C or anything like that? If not, do you route some air that bypasses the TB when it is closed? Or can I just adjust the posision of the TB so that it is not fully closed when the tps shows that it is? (This way I get a cleaner looking TB section, and can shave of everything on the TB) And do you use a knock sensor with the TEC3 (or 2) as well? Could anyone give me a file with the proper settings for my TEC3? Have 550 cc low impedance injectors, a sx fuel pressure regulator and a walbro 255 fuel pump. Want to get as broad a powerband as possible, with maximum peak power and torque and good driveability on the streets. Will use a T3/T04B hybrid with stage 5 turbine wheel and 0.63 turbine A/R. A high fi wheel in the T04B compressor. Will give me a flow of 55lb
  3. Well, I want a really powerfull engine. But at the same time, I'm not just going for maximum power, I want the car to be as driveable at the streets as possible. It won't be a drag car or anything like that, just a weekend streetracer. Thus I want the boost/power to kick in as early as possibly and at the same time, get the best power possibly over the broadest possible powerband. Which combination is the best then? I've heard several times the T3/T04E with 50 trim compressor wheel and 0.50 A/R, stage 5 turbine wheel and 0.63A/R Turbine is the best deal. Is this so or not? Been searching the forum alot, but haven't found any answers. How come I should stay away from the T04B compressor and go for the T04E compressor? My goals: Fast spool up (as little lag as possible) Broad and efficient powerband High power output Earlier I have stated I want to reach 350rwhp etc, well, to clear things up, what I really want is to make a really fast streetracer. Thus I guess it isn't the upper RPM's I'll use the most, so therefore I guess the turbo combo I am looking for should have it's peak performance from 2000-5500 rpm. Can anyone of you skilled turbogurus here help me out????
  4. T3/TO4B Stage III turbine wheel/.63 a/r turbine housing T04B hi-fi compressor wheel (55lbs/min) water-cooled & 360deg thrust bearing Ceramic coated turbine housing $660 for the base turbo with internal wastegate. $75 upgrade to water-cooled & 360deg thrust bearing $60 polished compressor housing $65 ceramic coated turbine housing All new parts of course. Will this make for a quick spool up yet good power? The price, good? 2.75" inlet and 2" outlet.
  5. Would 215 wide tires be better suited? (almost the same width as the rim?) If so, what height? 215/45 or 215/40. If I use the 225's, will they look to big(bulge on the side of the rims), or will they look good? Anyone have pics?
  6. This one might be even better? http:// http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=7941195317&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW This has watercooling, and supposedly ball bearings as well? Has 0.5mm shaftplay though, don't know if that has anything to say? Also, how will this one perform on a L6 engine???? Is this one overkill if I want a responsive turbo that kicks in quite early?
  7. http:// http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33742&item=7941060363&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW Is this something? It's not watercooled though, something I'd like to prolong it's lifetime. Also I'd really like a turbo with an internal wastegate, so I wouldn't have to modify the exhaust manifold and downpipe etc... But how will this one perform on a L6 (When it comes to lag, spool up time etc)
  8. Just wondering what is the best size tires for my new 17x7 rims with spacers? are 225/45's to wide, or are they ok on a 17x7 rim? Anyone have pics?
  9. Well, Clifton, I have tried three times to contact cheap turbos that you listed there, and asked them what the price will be if I also want a watercooled centersection and a ceramic coated turbine on the T3/T04E Hybrid they sell. But they have never replied to my e-mails. So I have almost given them up. Maybe they don't ship to Norway? Anyways, the first time I contacted them is several weeks ago, so I must say that's lousy service. I have heard that the hybrid is better than the pure T04 on the L6 engines because that has more lag and isn't as responsive?
  10. I have been told by several people to not do business with Top End Performance due to them being expensive, bad products etc etc. Well, I got a new TEC3 off ebay for only 1470$, so didn't have to buy that from them. But as for turbo, they offer me a new polished turbonetics T3/T04 hybrid with 50 trim, stage 5 turbine wheel, 0.63 A/R Turbine, 0.50 A/R compressor, water cooled center section and internal wastegate for 940$. For 140$ extra I get the turbine ceramic coated. (for an additional 400$ I get ball bearings, but I can't afford that, and I guess I really don't need it either) I have heard this combination is the optimum hybrid you can have on a L6. I have tried contacting many others, but the prices don't compare. So do you really think I shouldn't buy this? Or, do you know of any other places I can get it cheaper? The more input you guys have on this, the better!
  11. Hi! What diameter(in inches) is the stock crank pulley wheel on the 280ZXT? How big should the crank trigger wheel be? Does it need to be excactly the same size as the crank pulley, or can it be smaller/bigger?
  12. Anyone knows where to get a hold of Autronic engine management systems for the cheapest price possible?
  13. Ok, so now I have gotten a driveline for my project as well. (For those of you who don't know, I am putting a 280ZXT engine in a 1970 240Z, and upgrading the turbo, engine management etc and hoping for 400hp) Have gotten a complete 280ZXT driveline, in good condition. I have also bought the 2880ZXT C/V flange adapters from modern motorsport so that I can use the C/V halfshafts on the 240Z. Now, if I convince the seller to throw in the clutch as well, is this thing any good? How much power can this clutch take if I don't drag race? And also, I can buy a viscous LSD from a S14 200SX R200(Not the whole differential, just the internal part if you understand). Does anybody know if this will fit right in in the R200 from the 280ZXT? Or do I need other inner halfshafts etc?
  14. Take a look at this grounding kit: http:// http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6763&item=7941096154&rd=1 Will this improve grounding, and thus also improve power a bit?
  15. Is this hard to do? Is the viscous LSD any good? I keep hearing the clutch-type lsd is the best? Anyone knows which ratio this LSD have when it comes from an R200 from a S24 200SX?
  16. Hi! I was thinking of buying the clutch that is being sold at arizonazcar.com, as it is very reasonably priced. But I wonder how much this clutch can take? If I achieve say 350hp on the wheels, can this clutch take it? And is it a good, smooth clutch to use? I won't be dragracing my car or anything, only drags I'll pull will be when I stand waiting for the green light in the streets. Also, in another post of mine someone said to me that there was no need for me to get a lightweight flywheel considering my goals for this engine. (I was hoping to reach 400 at the wheels, but I think I should be satisfied with 350 at the wheels, since the T5 probably can't hold more anyway. Or can it? If I don't drag race it?) A lightweight flywheel would be good under any conditions though wouldn't it? Or isn't it worth the money? What's better, using the money on a lightweight flywheel, or using that money to upgrade the watercooled T3/T40E I'm buying to have ballbearings?

    Bergen by night

From the album: Pictures of me and my girlfriend etc

This is a picture of Bergen, Norway. The city I live in. It has a population of 250 000 and is the second largest city in Norway, with the capital Oslo being the largest one with a population of over 500 000. But that's not much either in an international scale!
