From the album: My 260Z 2+2 turbo

Depending on how much you want for that downpipe, I could always use it, and just cut the flange of and have the right T3 flange welded on instead!!! ? Or even better, if you have a welder yourself, you could do it for me if I bought a flange on the net and had it sent to your adress.

Hi! I am in need of a downpipe for my 240Z Turboproject. It is very hard to get hold of such things here in Norway, and the welders charge very much to do the work. I am looking for a 3" downpipe made of stainless steel, with mandrel bends. It is going in a 240Z with a BW T5, and the flange must be a 3-bolt T3 flange for a T3/TO4B with internal wastegate. A O2 sensor-bung would be nice too. Don't know if it can be done with two 45 degree bends, or if two 90 degree bends are needed? I am more than willing to trim the chassis and the T5 to make a downpipe with two 45 degree bends fit. Please contact me if you have one available, or can make one for me. My e-mail is: pjo046@student.uib.no Paul

Well, I would be very interested in that. How much would you want for it? It has mandrel bends? Two 45 degrees or? What mating flange does it have? I have a t3/t04b hybrid with internal wastegate, belive it has a three bolt flange? Don't have it in front of me right now, it's at my parents house in their garage. But I do believe that it is a three bolt flange that is needed. The pictures you showed me, is that of the downpipe you are using yourself now, or of the one that you can sell me?

Torque specs and valve cleareance on the L28T?
pjo046 replied to pjo046's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Yeah, I have already bought it. But it's on it's way along with some parts from MSA. Haven't received it yet. Thanks for the replies guys!! -
I don't have a manual for the 280ZXT engine I have bought. What tourqe shall I tighten the head bolts to? And in which order? Also, if I am to do a cold valve adjust, what is the clearances to be?

I was thinking of doing the following: Buy two 3" 45degree SS mandrel bends, have them welded together so that it makes for the downpipe from the T3/T4 hybrid. I would use V-band mounting and a V-band adapter flange for the T3 outlet. Then I'd run 3" SS piping all the way back to behind the front diff mount, and there I would have two 90degree mandrel bends and a good muffler at the end. How does this sound? Will my downpipe idea work out, or will this not fit in my 240Z when I have a T5 in it? I coul hammer the chassis in a bit to make room for it, and also shave some of the fins on the T5 if needed. Will this work? And is this a good solution? Is there anywhere to buy a fabricated 3" downpipe that fits in the 240Z? Is it ok with just straight pipes from the turbo and back to the muffler, or do I need a glasspack or something to stop resonance(or will the turbo itself take care of that part?) For the rear muffler, what do you recommend? I was thinking of a magnaflow race muffler, but those are quite expensive. Any cheaper alternatives that are as good as those?

Where to get cheap restrictor, SS oil supply- and return line?
pjo046 replied to pjo046's topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Is it cheap with 70$ for 5 feet of -3AN Stainless steel oil line, two 45 degree 1/8" NPT to -3 AN fittings and a 1/8" NPT restrictor? Also, will 5 feet be enough from the oil sending unit to the turbo and is the hole in the oil sending unit 1/8" NPT???? -
Where to get cheap restrictor, SS oil supply- and return line?

Meaning? Do you mean that -4AN is better? Or to buy from a nitrous shop? -
Does anyone have a recomendation for a internet store with good prices on these things? And they do also have to be shipping abroad! I am looking for a -3AN supply line and restrictor and fittings, and a -10AN return line and fittings. Or should I just use the stock 280ZXT return tube/hose? Will this work satisfactorily?

Well, I changed the bearings and everything in the center section. Then it was time to reassemble everything. I put on the backing plate and then the turbine wheel and compressor wheel. The compressor wheel was a bit hard to get onto the turbine wheel, so I had to slide it down the shaft by tightening the retainer nut. But after I was done, I realised I had forgotten to bolt down the backing plate to the center section. I therefore had to take the compressor wheel of again.. That's when the problem started. Since I had made the mistake of using force to get the compressor wheel on(by screwing it on), I was unable to get it of again. I tried many different methods, but with no luck. So now it has become completely stuck on the turbine wheel shaft. I managed to get it a bit out, but then it just got stuck. Tried using different tools, but it didn't help. So I am thinking that I just have to use a saw and cut it of, and install a new turbine wheel and compressor wheel.

I am in need of a turbinewheel/shaft and a compressor wheel. Was rebuilding my old T3 with a rebuild kit when something went wrong.... So now I have my newly polished compressorhousing, my painted turbinehousing and a center section with new bearings etc. But I am in need of new shaft and wheels. So if anyone has these things lying around, I would be really gratefull if you would be willing to sell it to me cheap.

Hi! I am going to rebuild the T3 from the 280ZXT engine before I sell it. I have bought a rebuild kit, but no instructions were included. Does anyone have this?
