Apexi Multichecker L28ET compatibility
Project Z replied to Project Z's topic in Ignition and Electrical
Finally! Well I'm not using a standalone, all I'm using is a piggyback (Greddy E-Manage Ultimate). I figured this would be a good tool and looking at the wiring, it's more like I'm just tapping all the signals but I wasn't sure if it'll work. Oh well, back to the drawing board... and Thank you! -
Apexi Multichecker L28ET compatibility
Project Z replied to Project Z's topic in Ignition and Electrical
Has anyone tried this? I could really use someone's input. -
My search had gone dry on this so I was wondering if anyone can answer my question. Has anyone used the Apexi Multichecker on their L28ET? I plan to use this but wanted to see other users input as well.

WTB performance parts to get my L28ET running
Project Z replied to Project Z's topic in Parts Wanted
I take it you want a pretty penny for those parts. I'm on a budget so I won't offend you with my offers. -
my new rear lower control arms LCA's
Project Z replied to 1 tuff z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Please give us your feedback after you test them out, Gabe makes good parts and I'm hoping these would perform well. -
I'm trying to keep it on a small budget (of course I won't tell how much!). If it gets accomplished then I get a cookie and if not, then I'll get none from my wife

A way to lock the hood?/anti theft.
Project Z replied to 5.Z's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
If you don't want a lock on your hood, I'd suggest using a separate battery for your alarm. Find a battery that will fit in the stowage units behind the seats under the carpet. That would be a good spot. -
The hood is actually going away since I'm swapping hoods with my friend since his has a hole for a top mount turbo. I won't be making a vent or a cover because I love the intimidation that it'll bring But I will have a filter to cover the turbo so no birdies get sucked in.

Thank you sir! It will probably take a good year or two to finish the whole car but the engine should be done in a month or so.

well thanks for the wiring and ecu

I actually still have the original L24 with the 4 speed transmission of which I will end up getting rid of. As far as the L28 in the car, maybe once I finish the project.

I just obtained my Z a month ago with plans to slowly make her presentable with a little bit of kick. The car currently is running on an L28 carbed with 5 speed transmission, MSA Headers, 2 1/4" exhaust piping with a straight pipe, Carb spacers?, Performance coil, NGK platinum plugs and wires. For suspension, it is sitting on ST springs (I believe I got the infamous mislabeled ones since my front sits higher than the rear), Tokico Blues, End Links and front and rear ST sway bars. For brakes, I am using the Toyota 4x4 calipers. For wheels I have some 15x10 Panasports on cheap 205 60 15's. I am planning on getting coilovers for better stance and handling, ZG flares so no more rubbing and fender mirrors. I am also in the process of transplanting my newly built L28ET. My goal is to be around 400 to 500 HP at the crank but for now, 300 should keep me going while I'm breaking it in. Oh and how could I forget, I will be refreshing the chassis as well with reinforcements and eliminating rust. The car will be painted Gloss black. The transformation will be slow but she will get there. Anyway, comments and suggestions are very well appreciated. Engine: L28ET with J.E. Pistons, Eagle Forged Rods, Race Rod Bearings, Crane valves, Comp Cam, Comp Timing set, HKS 2mm Head Gasket, ARP Head Bolts, Euro Damper, Port and polished Head, Bosch Alternator, MSA Billet Alumimum Alternator Adjustment Arm, High Capacity Oil Pump, and all new Gaskets Turbo System: Garrett T3T4 Hybrid Turbo, Custom Top Mount Turbo Manifold, Tial BOV, Internal Wastegate, AVO intercooler 21x8x3 core, 2.5” inlet/outlet, and Custom Turbo 3 inch Downpipe with custom 3 inch piping all the way to the exhaust (Magnaflow Turbo exhaust?). Intake: 240sx 60mm throttle body and Port matched Intake Manifold Engine Management: L28ET ECU, Greddy E-Manage Ultimate, LC1 wide band O2 sensor and controller (still need to purchase one), and 240SX Map sensor (anyone got one?). Fuel: 13 gal. Fuel Cell, Walbro 255LPH fuel pump (haven't bought one yet), 450cc Injectors (will be swapping in some 720's once the engine is broken in and I have funds to purchase them), Hardwired CSI to spray while on boost, Cold Fusion's Billet Fuel Rail (haven't bought one yet) Ignition: Stock distributor, NGK Platinum Spark Plugs and Wires, and MSD Coil.

Ronal Racing Wheel value?
Project Z replied to Stealth-Z's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
awww man those are beautiful! They look at home more in an S130 than an S30 though. -
I love your Z!

Thank you for the feedback Zmanco and BRAAP, let's get back to the thread. As for as both of your guys' concern, thank you but I will make my own build thread and like I said before, I will need everyone's feedback and opinions to make sure I get this thing running right. 400 at the crank is wishful thinking, you guys read too much into it. CSI as a 7th injector, sorry about that; this was my friend's idea to have it hardwired to spray on boost at which I thought about but haven't discussed with him. "Where is it spraying towards and will it be able to spray consistently?" And I also thought of the capacity of that injector being just used for cold starts meaning it sprays very minimal fuel. If anything, I thought of running 8 450 cc injectors but I don't know where to plug the 2 in. I will make the build thread as soon as I figure out what's wrong with my laptop (I'm at work sneaking a few minutes on the board ).
-
Because all I have right now are 450's so once I have a budget for the 720's or maybe I'll just go with 550's, the car will be retuned. I don't want to clutter this thread, let's get back to the topic and I will make my own thread about my build. There you can give me feedback and advice as I will need it. Zmanco: my mistake, the fuel pressure was set at 43.5.
-
Please note that I am using the Cold Start Injector as a 7th injector. I don't know how Nick is going to do it but it will be hardwired to spray while on boost. Nonetheless, 450cc injectors can actually handle 400 HP at the crank. I plugged in the calculations on the RC engineering website. That's what I will be running but I will be switching to 720cc's once the motor is running and broken in. Turbo will also be replaced later on with a T-66 ball bearing turbo. I forgot to add that.
-
Yes I am using the 240sx Throttle body with Map sensor. The E-Manage Ultimate works with the system. Tuning will be done by 280znick. Like I stated recently, hopefully I can get 400 HP at the crank around 15-20 psi. I don't know that it will but hey, I can dream right?

My set up is not done yet but here it is: Engine: L28ET with J.E. Pistons, Eagle Forged Rods, Race Rod Bearings, Crane valves, Comp Cam, Comp Timing set, HKS 2mm Head Gasket, ARP Head Bolts, Euro Damper, Port and polished Head, Bosch Alternator, MSA Billet Alumimum Alternator Adjustment Arm, High Capacity Oil Pump, and all new Gaskets Turbo System: Garrett T3T4 Hybrid Turbo, Custom Top Mount Turbo Manifold, Tial BOV, Internal Wastegate, AVO intercooler 21x8x3 core, 2.5†inlet/outlet, and Custom Turbo 3 inch Downpipe with custom 3 inch piping all the way to the exhaust (Magnaflow Turbo exhaust?). Intake: 240sx 60mm throttle body and Port matched Intake Manifold Engine Management: L28ET ECU, Greddy E-Manage Ultimate, LC1 wideband O2 sensor and controller, and 240SX Map sensor. Fuel: 13 gal. Fuel Cell, Walbro 255LPH fuel pump (haven't bought one yet), 450cc Injectors, Hardwired CSI to work as a 7th Injector, Cold Fusion's Billet Fuel Rail (haven't bought one yet) Ignition: Stock distributor, NGK Platinum Spark Plugs and Wires, and MSD Coil. HP: Well the engine is already complete but I still need a few little parts before she can run. After the engine gets properly broken in, I will get the car dynoed. I'm hoping I can get 400HP at the crank (wishful thinking right?).
