Is the heim joint on the control arm for the sway bar mount the same size as the joint in your pic? Is there a set screw or soemthing that keeps the slider from sliding?

Mike, Hang in there. Sorry to hear about your Dad. It's hard to watch your parents age.

With percision tools like that, this problem will be solved in no time.

My first shake down was about 10 minutes on the track and then back in the trailer to address issues. Sounds about right. Congrates!! Ask BJ about his shake down.

Just remember, you steer it with your right foot. Good luck and Congrats on getting this far.

Looking good Mike! Can't wait to see it on the track.

Make it yours. Have fun building it and enjoy it afterwards.

Very cool. If its not rusty I'd be very interested.

Looking great! Are those tires Hoosier R6's? That is alot of meat under that car.

Try swapping your springs front to rear. Stiffer springs up front and softer on rear.
-
What headers are you using? I'm enjoying your progress.

Cool color. What size wheels did you go with?

Check the voltage at the pump.

A milestone! Congrats

Sweet! Congrats.

What advantage do droop limiters have over a larger anti roll bar? In the pics Jon posted, the grey car looks like it needs stiffer springs or bigger bars. Aren't drop limiters acting like a large ARB? I'm only on my first cup of coffey, be kind.

Cool car. I spent 4 years at WCU and many weekends knocking around sylva. I've got a kid at WCU now. I'll look for the car the next time I'm up there.

I had to move the fender well closer to the front tire to make room for the tank to fit in that space. It would have been easier to get one of the race shops around here to make a tank. I think the capicity would be close to the 3 gallon tank I have now. It would have to have been shaped very differently and would have taken someone with skill and imagination to make it but I know it could be done.
Just keep in mind you need to have a way to easily drain the tank to change the oil.

Just to follow up. I was at VIR on the north course with the THSSC a couple of weekends ago. I bought a set of victor racers for the rear that were on close out. The production date was 2007. I ran a personal best time on the north course and set FTD on sunday. I'll buy another set if they still have a few left the next time I need tires.
They were half the cost of new. Money well spent.

http://forums.hybridz.org/uploads/500/med_DSC00034.JPG I also had to modify the fender well a bit to make it all work.

I've got the same set up on my ls1. I mounted my tank where the battery went. Had to cut the firewall and set the tank back a bit. If I had it to do over again I would have had a custom shaped tank made to fit the space.. I'm enjoying watching your progress. I hope o can see it in person one day.

Is that an ARE pan?

How fast does it need to be? That's overkill. You'd probably be better off with a much more mild setup...but, since that's not going to happen start looking into an R230 conversion or live axle setup.
You do know this is hybridZ right?

Mike,
I'd mount the bar on the car, see how much length you need between the heim joints, and then either use a male and female heim joint or use threaded ron and lock nuts if a longer length is needed. I bet a male and female heim joint would work there.
