  1. I live in Arizona. I own a 1980 280ZX with a stock motor (NA) and want to improve the interior (carpets, dash, seat covers, headliner) and door and window gaskets. I also own a 1977 280Z and I am putting a FI Ford 302 into it. I will be upgrading the suspension, the body (panels, body kits, paint) and the interior (same as the 280ZX) and motor upgrades. Hope that helped. Have fun with the Business Project. Mike
  2. I thought because theres backlash between the teeth of the gears in the transmission it was from the car bouncing off of the front and back side of the teeth of the gears in the transmission.
  3. I'm in the middle of a Ford swap right now here in Tucson. I know of three other sbc swaps here too. There are three that i can remember here at HydridZ that are in the Phoenix area, dont remember their names though. Good Luck
  4. Theres no kit available right now. Hitman47 is working on one, but that will either take a while to complete or never make it to production past his swap. Al Silva (http://zcar.netdojo.com) makes a crossmember for the engine for $125 last I saw and Capt_Zorro has plans online for some engine mounts (Search for 'HELP! Before I screw up again.'). Al's is setup for a T-5 and Capt_Zorros for a C-4 or AOD I believe.
  5. Yeah they are behind the interior side paneling, theyre a real pain to get too. Good Luck.
  6. Thats a great rifle. I prefer mausers but have come close to buying a SKS several times, though I think I'm gonna get a M1 next. Have fun, be safe.
  7. It looks great!! What head light covers are you using?
  8. When ever I bid on eBay I always bid at the last second. My view is why should i try to be the highest bid 6 days out raising the price everytime, possibly getting to my maximum bid days before the auction is over. I just wait, keeping the price down and bid my maximum right before it ends, usually just seconds before it ends. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt but it usually works for me. If you can't do that I don't know how to help. I don't know of a way to 'weed' out the BUY IT NOW from the others, I dont think there is but I could be wrong. mike
  9. My best friend just finished tech school (Sheppard, in Tx) on Thursday. He was there just over 6 months. Its gonna be hot and humid in Tx right now, thats gonna really suck. Well I'm sure your son will do fine. I'll wish him luck.
  10. Glad to hear you had a good experience. I love mountain biking. Been doing it for about 8 years. Upgrade you brakes, gear set, derailer and shifter. Your body will thank you for it and it will be more enjoyable. Have fun! mike
  11. Hey thanks for the responces. I was hoping you would respond Josh, I believe it was your posts that I was reading and I was wondering how you fixed your clearence problem. It would be nice to get an aftermarket intake, but thats not in my budget. I'll try to take pics and post here what I end up doing. Mike
  12. I'm planning on putting a 89-93 mustang 302 into my 77 280Z with the EFI. I've seen some posts here about a year old saying that there are clearence issues with the hood when using FI, but nothing more recent. I know ill have to cut the steering shaft and thats not a problem. My question is has anyone put in a FI 302 with Alsil's mounts without modifying his mounts?
  13. Its been about a year sence i adjusted my valves. The adjuster was still tight when i cracked open the valve cover.
  14. 2005-06-09 01:25:53 EST: 4167 / 502 Your download speed : 4267610 bps, or 4167 kbps. A 520.9 KB/sec transfer rate. Your upload speed : 514088 bps, or 502 kbps Cox Cable through dslreports Pop N Wood is right you need to talk to people in your area. Ask your neighbors who they have and what they think about it. Other wise its just trial and error on your part.
  15. Yesterday while driving i had a valve rocker guide come unseated. The rocker arm then was pushed to the side its cam lobe. The side of the lobe was rounded slightly but the machined area where the rocker arm rides on the lobe and the machined area on the rocker arm were undamaged. The valve rocker guide was also undamaged. I looked around and did not see any damage anywhere. I have put everything back together and the car runs fine. So my question is why did the guide come unseated? I talked with my friend and my neighbor and we came up with either a poorly adjusted valve clearence or a weak valve spring. Could there be others reasons and should I look for or check for other damage that was not visable with the valve cover off? This is a stock 1980 L6 in a 280ZX.
  16. Yeah there are distance limitations. About 4 miles from the CO (central office) is the max distance to get full speed from DSL. The closer to the CO the better. Every DSL company is different so ask them what the limits are for their different cennection types (ADSL,SDSL,IDSL) and at what speed you can get the connection at. I'm happy with Cox. I have a 3 mbit line and it does me well. Mario has a point. The more poeple on the line near you the less bandwith there is for you, but that is the same for both cable and dsl. I personally am for cable, but I have many friends that love their dsl too. In the end what ever is in your price range is what you should get. Also there can be some trial and error depending on how good the line in your area is and the company. So like always buyer beware and dont be afraid to switch ISP's if youre not happy with what you have. All it takes is money to get a fatter pipe. If you do gaming and a lot of downloading of larger files get the fastest line you can afford. If you mostly just do online browsing and email and such I think any broadband connection will make you happy.
  17. My best friend is about to get out of tech school (Sheppard, Tx) in the Air Force. Have your son look into USAA for insurance, its only available to service men and their family. I can use it because my Dad's in the USAF and it saves me a good hunk of cash.
  18. I'm using Cox Cable with out the TV service. I'm pretty happy with them, been with them for almost 6 years. If you can't get any service over land you can use a satellite service. I know Sprint used to not sure if they still do. But satellite service sucks for online gaming, the pings are to high, but you can get good download speeds.
  19. Zhadman i can understand wanting to try it first before buying. Thats one of the reasons I downloaded autocad. Its not easy to shell out three grand for a pretty box, some papers and a couple CD's. Good luck. Mike
  20. Just remember when downloading from any P2P program do a virus check. You should be able to find it on Bearshare. I'd also look at some Bittorrent sites. http://torrentspy.com/default.asp http://thepiratebay.org/ http://www.mininova.org/ I saw 3d studio on all three. I just downloaded autocad 2006 last month to play with. Just to make sure you and others know it is piracy and illegal. If you have any questions or comments just ask. Mike
  21. beautiful collection. Wish I had the money to have those and my cars. What year winchester is that? My friend has a 1902 model 94 and a 1873 or 74 .45 Colt Peacemaker, such sweet guns to shoot.
  22. Yeah a 98 isnt to bad to rebarrel. Just be careful early Mausers didnt have vents in the bolt to vent the gases like the 98, you could get some gases in the face or worse even have the bolt blow back into your face. I have a Gew (Gewehr) 98 and an 1891 Argentina Mauser. The 1891 isn't vented like the 98. I've had some of my Argentina ammo crack like yours. The blow back from the gases was very unpleasant.
  23. First I'd recommend an IR temp gauge and find what your normal temperature range is for your engine. Over heating can quickly kill the engine. A thin trail of white smoke from the exhaust is what your looking for with a strong high pitch whine at full speed. Found this pdf from Team Associated http://www.teamassociated.com/shusting/CatalogHub/engine/AE15_engman.pdf smaller engine but the tuning should be the same. I have a Nitro RC10GT and an electric Losi XXXT.
  24. Dang... Nice collection Dave! Thanks for collecting so many great pictures and for sharing them. They will help me and hopefully others a lot.
