  1. That's the JTR web site, but you can get their manuals at other sites as well. I got my JTR manuals from Summit Racing.
  2. Very cool! I am also planning on leaning my radiator back like you did in order to install an SLP Firehawk Ram Air intake on my LT1. I was thinking of going with the JTR radiator on my install, why did you decide to go with the Summit unit?
  3. From the other thread, someone posted a spy video of the stang in action. Turn up the audio and you'll hear the sound of a V8 rumble.
  4. You're half right...maybe this swap was done to piss off both the domestic guys and the "ricers". In fact it pisses off a lot of people (as evidenced by this thread), and that is part of what makes this car cool to me. I made my car the way I like it, but as an added benefit I piss people off too. Some American Muscle guys don't like that I stuck a muscle car engine in my jap car, and japanese car purists don't like that I stuck a V8 in a Z. Somewhere in the middle, most people just think it's cool.
  5. I would think that more HybridZers would appreciate the engineering and uniqueness of this swap. I enjoy cars and everything that goes with it...and I would enjoy seeing and hearing more about this particular vehicle. The Mustang looks pretty beat up in the first picture of this post, but the other pictures look like the car is pretty clean. Maybe the first picture is an after shot that shows what happened to it during the movie. Whether it's an American engine in a Foreign car or vice versa, it's still interesting and if you understand the builders needs and desires...maybe it makes sense. Maybe if you think it's WRONG your not to far from thinking putting a V8 (or v10, or v12, or inline 4, rotary, etc.) in a 240Z is WRONG too. Just because it's not what you would do, doesn't make it wrong. Viva le Difference
  6. Thanks fastzcars, I'd like to take you up on that offer. In my searching for brackets, I did find many brackets for the Sanden, but not one that would work on an LT1 in a 240Z (too high or too wide). Is there one that will just bolt up to a bracket made for the stock LT1 compressor and allow it to bolt up to a Sanden unit?
  7. I just called Old Air Products, and this bracket will not fit on the stock LT1 compressor. The LT1 compressor is not a York, and they don't have one that will work on LT1 compressor's.
  8. That York/Sanden bracket is a good find. I was looking for something like that a few weeks ago. I'm wondering if I can use this in conjunction with the Bowers bracket I already purchased. I already got a used stock LT1 compressor for $50, but maybe I should get this bracket and switch over to a Sanden unit. Is the Sanden unit a lot better than the stock LT1 unit?
  9. Instead of going with a fuel cell, I used a nylon tank from a 2001 Trans Am. Here's a link to a thread about it. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101232
  10. I was there with my LT1 powered 240Z, but I didn't see any other Z's with V8's in them.
  11. Gollum, The original Picture is at Jason's web site, and I have a link to it in one of my prior posts. ZOwner, The picture that we're starting with is probably too low of an angle to allow a carbon fiber pattern to show up good on the hood, but your last image still gives me a good idea of how it would look. Thanks again for taking the time to work on these images for me.
  12. I used the last image that ZOwner posted and made a couple of crude additions. I think I'm going to go with this scheme.
  13. Thanks Mike' date=' anything that will help me pick the right paint scheme for my car is appreciated. WRX Blue and Black are the colors I'm interested in. I'm thinking the line between the two colors would be just like the BRE 240Z, but since I have the stock headlight buckets the inside of the buckets will be the same color as the side of the car. I don't have photoshop, but I played with the image that ZOwner posted for me using MSPaint.[/size'] I'm still interested in having the colors reversed with black on top and blue on the sides.
  14. If blue on top looks better, then I will do it (even though I did paint my engine bay blue already). I'm not sure yet, but I was thinking of a silver pin stripe between the two colors. One of reasons to put black on the top would be to use a carbon fiber hood. I like carbon fiber hoods, but would prefer the hood to blend in a little better with the rest of the car. If black looks better on the side, then I won't go with a carbon fiber hood.
  15. I don't have PhotoShop and I was wondering if one of you PhotoShop experts out there might be willing to help me out. I'm thinking of painting my car two tone black and blue and I'd like to see what it would look like. I'd greatly appreciate if someone would post up shots of this paint scheme. I was thinking of using the body line that runs the length of the car to transitions the two colors. Like the way the red and white is done on the BRE car below. I haven't quite made up my mind if the top should be black and the sides blue or vice versa. My first thought was to have the top black and go with a carbon fiber hood (with the lip painted blue like the white lip on the hood of the BRE car). I also want the air dam to be the same color as the sides. The blue I'm using is the Subaru WRX World Rally Blue Pearl that I've already shot in my engine compartment (you can see it in the link in my signature). Here's a couple of links to pic's of my car that may be a starting point. http://home.earthlink.net/~laurieannezzz/images/frontview.JPG http://home.earthlink.net/~laurieannezzz/images/rear.JPG If it would work better with a different shot...just let me know.
  16. Thanks for the part numbers fastzcars. I have some of the other parts I need, and I will start installing this weekend. I'm redoing my intake and putting the stock tensioner back on in conjunction with installing Bowers low hood compressor relocation kit. I will have new pictures and updates soon.
  17. quick240z, I didn't even make the one I have, so I'm not a good candidate for making you another one. I am seriously lacking on fabrication skills...at least for now. Stevej, Nice looking mount & very nice looking underside in general. Very clean, you have more pic's of your car?
