  1. Guy's, Thanks for the updates! I have mine towards the front. Good to know you can mount them front or rear. I wanted to mount them towards the rear.... when the car is raised the brake lines (steel braided) are fine but once on the ground they are bent like a squished S. The first time I put the wilwoods and went for a test drive, the lines where hitting half shaft. Had to bend the hardline. I'm thinking since the lines are squished to a tight S, they might be putting some load to brakes so I when I brake, there is more pressure in the rear. I noticed my rear brakes are a lot more warmer then my fronts and the rears squeal really loud after braking. I did have the new rotors turned and made sure rotors where clean and no brake fluid or cleaning fluid got on the pads. Your thoughts please
  2. I have the single piston wilwood brakes for the rear. Does it matter of the placement of calipers? Should it mounted in front of the rotor or the rear side of the rotor?
  3. Once you get to 170hp at the wheels, you'll want more
  4. This is how I had my adapter made. I wanted the wheels closes to the edge without sticking out. Basically almost flush with the fender. It makes the car look more agressive (to me). I had to roll my fender for extra clearance. 30mm spacers is what I would get - incase you decide to go with 0 camber and oversize tires. I'd get the rims first, do the measurements for the adapters.
  5. Your Z is SICK! Definately one of the best before / after projects I've seen. -R
  6. I mainly use mine for the weekends. You'd be suprise how much of a pain not having a parking brake. My clutch started slipping not to long after I started putting in gear when parking.
  7. Same here. When did my first turbo transplant, I could not get my Z started. It wouldn't even fire up for a half a second. Once replace, started right up. Coil, plug wires, or even the wiring? Worst case the computer. What have you tried?
  8. FYI... I have wilwoods front and rear. Just wanted to let you know you'll lose your mechanical emergency brake. They have hydralic but you'll have to route brake lines inside your car. I think my clutch started slipping because I was putting my car in gear while I was parked in the driveway or hill. All because I lost my emergency brake.

    On3go

I'm worse... I just figured it out last month when I was checking out Mike's website. I said to my self "Oh ****" that's what it meant "on 3 go" LOL!
  10. Saw a white 240z in Vallejo @ the Sonoma / Mini Dr. intersection heading towards Napa. Passed him up in my blue 240z. Don’t think he saw me. I was going to give him thumbs up but never looked my way. Btw I decided to start this thread because I rarely see Z cars on the road. When I do I wonder if he’s a hybridz guy / chick and if he is, who is he / she? Let us know if you get sighted or if you know that person

    bg synchromesh II

Damm... want to prostreet and found out they were out of synergy. They had Royal purple. After talking to the sales person for awhile I ended up getting the Royal purple. Their high horse power supra's and the M3's customer swear by it. What I like the most is Royal purple was half the price or more of BG and Synergy. $6.xx per quart. Sales dude said BG works great for DSM's... Royal purple for rear wheel drive. Found out synergy didn't shift well when cold. I guess you got to figure the most mentioned synthetic brands must be better then stock none synthetic fuilds?
  12. Please post your Z sighting here. Thanks! Saw Orange 240z Monday 9/26 at the Pacheco Exit off of 680. If you remember a Silver Audi in front of you after the 680 on ramp, that was me =). Also saw a white 240Z in Oakland, 1900 Embarcadero parking lot.

    bg synchromesh II

I've read good stuff with GM Synocromesh. I also read more stuff on BG Syncromesh with more positive feed backs but found this today.... Synergyn SynGear II http://www.prostreetonline.com/buy/synergyn_syngear_ii/ I think the AWD tranny's take the most abuse on launches. It must be a good oil if the tranny was taking the abuse and BG Sync wasn't. Interesting that it say's it a thicker oil but coats and protects better then tinner atf and synchroshift. I think I'll try it out and let you guy's know. -R

    bg synchromesh II

    Thanks. It's transmission oil. -R
  15. Has anyone tried bg synchromesh II on their 280z/280zx tranny? I've been highly thinking of switching. I've had good results in my 91 Awd talon and my Audi quattro. Noticeable difference with those 2 cars. -R
  16. I was watching TV while I was on the computer and saw really quickly a image of a 240z. I rewind the tivo and could of swore I saw a 240z, the car flashed quickly so I had to put the tivo in slow motion, then paused. It was a 240z, from what I saw, the Z looked clean. It had some nice wheels with knock offs. My wife liked the rims too. When I played it in normal mode she said how the hell did you see it. Funny how you spot things your into even if it was the corner of your eye. It will be airing tomorrow Thursday 9/22 on CBS 10pm - pst time zone. This is Direct TV so it might be a different time in your area. The show is about 4 women getting kidnapped. It showed one of the women getting into the 240Z and riding in it when it was raining. -R
  17. Just incase you stop comming to this site, I want to get a change to say Thank You! for all your help in the past. From giving advise when I first got into the Z cars to helping me tune my SDS engine management. I think I got your very last downpipe for the L28et, I remember you saying it was one of your prototypes. Can't believe you letting it go. But can imagine why... sometimes I just want to put ear plugs when I drive my Z. Because of the thread title, I thought you blew your engine or crashed it. The word Dead sounds so bad. "Retiring From The GNZ, Long Live The GNZ" - sounds better =) Good luck with the new project =) -R
  18. I think you may have damaged your ecu when you had the wiring hooked up wrong. Also the best way to test for leaks is using one of these http://www.stealth316.com/2-pressuretester.htm I got my parts from home depot. I think your using this method but posting the link just incase.
  19. This is the lowest price I've seen for a Fidanza flywheel. It's for the 240z, 260z, 280z and 280zx including turbo. I'd thougt I post here and the forsale secton because such a good deal. Shipping is only $9. There's on 3 days left and 3 available. Hope this benefits someone. Here's the link. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fidanza-Aluminum-flywheel-Nissan-240-260-280zx_W0QQitemZ7997328700QQcategoryZ33732QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem If the link doesn't come up do a search for 280zx flywheel on ebay. It will be the first one listed.

    Haltech base maps

Call Haltech, they have map now. My friend was working with them on getting the haltech to work with the z motor.
  21. If the car was rwd then I would say yeah really high mph in the quarter mile. With those big tires and all wheel drive, I doubt traction will be a problem. It would be ridicules for a super car to not be able to put the power to the ground. Probably the only thing that makes that car streetable is the awd and probably the engine has lower compression but the turbo's make up for it.
  22. RacerX, Thanks for the emails and post. -Ron
  23. J260Z, they are 18 inch rims. RacerX, Sorry no other pictures other then the album page. I've been wanting to but have not found the time. Thanks alot for looking up the rechroming places. -Ron
