  1. I'm sure they will have a recall on the E46 engines. If this is true and to many people complain I'm sure will hear it in the News. That was very shocking but I believe it. Over all BMW is an excellent car company. Very good service. They treat you like a king when your car is being service. Usually you get what you pay for but in this case it's a different story. At least I noticed they all got good service with no hassles replacing their engines. Would I still buy one? HELL YEAH!!! if I had the money and as long as it was under warranty They out performed the cars in there same class - streetwise that is. BTW, this only problem is only on the new M3's not the old one's.
  2. Scotty Thanks for the kind words. Looks is the easy part, I wish my car was fast as yours. Currently my car has problems in the higher rpm and sick of diagnosing my problems and not finding the problem. I'm waiting for Mike (SCCA) to confirm on the SDS system price and his paypal address. It's going to cost me $1355 shipped with the options needed. Damm, I feel sick in the stomach. I don't need more CC bills. Anyway when will we know about the fuel rail
  3. It might be the tach itself. A friend of mine got me a 280Z tach and it was dead until he rev the engine. At idle the needle sits on 0. Replaced the tach with a different one and works great.
  4. Ok, I won't bash on Honda's for Godspeed sake. But I will say people in Japan don't think there high performance cars. Check out this post from an email I got from someone that is currently in Japan. Also another person from Tokyo, Japan backs up the post. http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=4;t=000457
  5. Most of or all the T3's has the same exhaust flange. From what I remember the 280zx turbo has the same flange as the Saab, I would try to find a 280zx or 300zx turbo, it's bigger then the Saab. The link BEN99 put http://www.homemadeturbo.com/t3.html is a 84-89 300zx turbo which is exactly the same turbo as the 280zx turbo except that it doesn't have the watercooled section. There both set a 5.5 psi of boost. BTW my friend's brother had a Honda Civic with a decent size turbo doing high 11's. To top it all he his gas mileage went up also. I would defiantly get a Honda Civic for a commuter car and do the same mods but on the outside it would look stock except for the bigger tires to support the power - basically a sleeper. Oh and since it's a turbocharged the car wont sound like tin cans coming out of my exhaust, the turbo quiets the car quite a bit.

    Diff Strap

Did you turn the picture over and show your welder that the other side is also welded. I really don’t think it will snap unless you are pushing over 700HP. Of course Jon's welding is going to be crappy compaired to your friends welding, that's probably because your friend does it for a living - LOL. I've never seen anyone who has been welding less then a year and has only welded a few times doing prefect welds especially with a inexpensive welder. Don't forget when you see Jon's car in person, you crawl under the car and point out the crappy weld job because no one else is going to notice it. Scottie was using a thinner metal and was running 11’s all day; he never had a problem with his. I think if this were an issue someone would have had this part for sale in their catalog. Some of the Z guy’s are still using the stock strap which is not even metal – amazing. BTW, he didn't weld extra pieces on the mustache bar, that was the first strap he tried out which was a thin metal welded to the diff mount. I think he said he made the current strip because the first strap started stretching because of the thin metal. Just my 2Cents
  7. 1: The turbo will come with a 3" compressor inlet and 2" outlet. What is the best way to connect the AFM and J-Pipe? The inlet is a 3". The J pipe connects the sameway as it did with the stock turbo. As for the AFM hose, some cut their hose. I used a 3" mandrel pipe. 2: Will the standard T3 waist gate actuator work with the T4b housing? It fits exactly as the stock t3 did. I'm running a .57 trim with a .63 a/r so I had them make the wastegate hole bigger and put a bigger wastegate flap (I forgot the anem of the flap) =) to prevent boost creep. Currently I don't get any boost creep. 3: Will I need to add a spacer between the turbine housing and the exhaust manifold? No, not with the T04b housing. Scotty was lucky that he had to do only a little shaving. The T04E housing I had needed a 1" spacer. Make sure to get a BOV if you start going over 8 psi. You defiantly need one if your boosting over 12 psi, you'll turbo won't last long. Hope this help
  8. A lot is almost a understatement. I'll NEVER put a solid diff mount in my Z again. Jon I drove by but your Garage was closed so I went home.
  9. Hi Cuong, Look very nice even in it's uncompleted form. What kind of IC are you using. Looks like it fits perfect.
  10. My friend just told me today he was doing wheelies on his wheel chair and fell back and broke something else, I forgot what he broke. He had to make another trip to the hospital. It didn't happen today more like a week or 2 ago.
  11. For you guy's that don't know who Darius is... He's the guy that is known for his 4th gear burn outs and for beating a R1 Bike with his 240Z. He's also known for his crazy bike stunts. The reason I posted this because he's highly spoken of in the Z forums other wise I wouldn't have post this because I don't know him.
  12. Sorry don't have the details but a friend of mine who use to race with him a couple of years ago told me he crashed last month. He has broken arms and legs. I believe he's still in the hospital. Hope he makes a full recovery soon.

    Diff Strap

Ya that's true but then $5-$10 for parts and $25 for your time is not a profit. I'm sure you make for than $25 an hour without the hard labor. I know I would have paid someone that much to make me one. Saves me the headaches of measurements, drilling, cuting, welding and painting it. Not to mention a trip to the store. BTW, Thanks for making mine, I owe you lunch again.
  14. Hey Guy's, I'm trying to find out if Anyone Installed a SDS System in there Z in the CA? I've been highly thinking of getting one.

    Diff Strap

Bill, I think Jon is selling it for $35 + shipping which is cheap considering the strap from the dealer is $50+
  16. Davy, if Dan runs out can I borrow yours?
  17. Scott, Nice time. 12's is just around corner. I'm sure you'll get there before the end of this year. I guess you fixed the problem of No boost until 4k with the t3/TO4E. Just curious what was the problem? You didn't the results on how you fixed it.
  18. My wife's car had Kumho's in this pic. Had no problems in the dry or rain. I put the car in a four wheel drift with out loosing it. In general I think Kumho's are decent tires for the price.
  19. SmackZ, I'd like one. How much do you want for it?

    Pinion Snubber

Check out one's Jon just made. Simular to ScottGNZ but this one allows the diff to have a little play. I wish I had that on today. I was testing my car out and the last run I did slammed the drive shaft really hard. Now my E-Brake doesnt work more.

    Pinion Snubber

    I'll be there, Thanks Buddy!!!!!
  22. I believe they are exactly the same except that the z31 turbos are water cooled (coolant). They bolt right up and it's up to you to hook up the coolant lines, I would.
  23. Tony & Josh, We notice no difference using the trigger wheel from the 280ZXT from the 300ZXT. Both goes to 7000 no problem. Absolutely no difference noticed. That's why I mentioned no distributor mod.
