  2. ...ok so the stock lil gauges are 2 5/8th? SO what are the tach and speedo size? Im looking at getting a set of Autometer after looking around but after reading this better double check on the sizes.

  4. Thanks for the info lol once again I am weighting my options and like you have said the more I read and learn the more subtle i think the build is gonna become. I do plan to go pretty all out on the build as far as supporting mods go (fuel suspension etc etc) but want something that is reliable and safe to drive on the streets....so between 500-600 is fine by me. Im located in Savannah, GA but am currently in Afghanistan finishing up a tour here so looking to start dropping llarge amounts of money for the build around Feb. next year. Just trying to do all my research now. I will have to find some decent junkyards as well as most around Savannah have been raided for all they are worth lol. and am interested in the parts you guys have (once I pick one or the other lol) if you are gonna have them when im ready to buy all this stuff.

Damn that is alot of very good info.....Oh and you are right it was Modern not Beta sorry, So IYHO do you think the R200 can handle up to 700whp in a nice gear ratio that will allow the legs to stretch a little? Im just looking for a reliable setup that can handle the power. What kinda LSD do they offer for the R200? Hmm so given your info and research what would be a solid R200 setup? (Sorry for the change of subject but I have been researching the R230 and dont know much about the R200 at all) I would like a Quaife LSD if possible. Hey also the Q45 shafts (if i even need them for a R200 setup) can they be bought anywhere new? Sorry to be a burden with all this seems like there are alot of options out there for the S30 lol. I am just trying to get a solid list together of what I need. lol Gonna be a monster build. Definately gonna save all those links you gave me, I have never dealt with RWD drivetrain componants so alot of this is a learning experiance for me.
  6. Hey so I have been floating around on the forum here for awhile and am trying to gather information on the set-up I wanna run on my 73 S30. Like the topic states I wanna run a 2JZ-R154-R230 setup but I know next to nothing about RWD set-ups (this is MY first RWD car that I have owned) and I am trying to figure out how to get the R230 setup all together I get that I will need a Custom Axle, and have the Beta R230 mounting kit added to the list of things i need, but I am getting confused on what exactly I need as far as shafts go and all the applicable adapters.... Some of the info I find is either from years ago and there are companies selling the parts now / or Im very confused on what exactly i need since different ppl take different approaches to doing it. So any help you guys can provide would help alot thanks.

  8. Hey some general questions....... What will the end pricing be for the wing (CF and FG versions) How soon will they be looking to be produced to be sold is will this be a on-order kinda thing? Im def still interested in a CF version of this wing just let me know how soon I need the cash and how long till they will start being produced...Im in no super hurry wont even be back in the states till years end, but still want one.
  9. Update targeting the 2JZ now lol, after pricing all I would have to replace/upgrade on the 1JZ i have I might as well just drop the cash on the stronger 2JZ and call it good plus its the 2JZ lol.

  15. A alternative not as insanely expensive option as the Defi are the Prosport gauges i gave them a shot in my Corolla and they are actually not that bad...I may acttually get another set for the Z.

  17. Wgat is a good 500hp 1JZ build plan? Rods and Pistons are already on the list but what else would i need (including turbos single or twin) to see 500+? I keep getting conflicting answers i get from stock engine with higher boost to a half fully built block ? So im just trying to get a solid list so i can start buying lol.....oh and its going in a 73 now not a 77 plans fell thru on the 77 but just purchased a 73 from another member here.

  19. Yeah the 1jz won this debate....not as a platform perse to down the 7m but more over the fact that the 1jz is in alot better shape then the 7m that i have.

Hey all I have been reading thru this thread or that looking at aftermarket gauge options for the S30 and have a few questions....down the road ill be doing a 1jz swap into a 73 and notice that the center gauges are dual except the clock.....now id like to run aftermarket autometer digital gauges but am not sure what to cut to use in the centers place. (other then the clock that can go np) Thats the first thing im wondering the second is for those that have replaced the driver two gauges clusters (speedo/tach) what did you do about the little things like the turn signal indicators? My idea is to replace those down the line as well and remove the cig lighter and fab in a shift light about the same diameter since i dont smoke and wont allow smoking in the car as it is, but am just unsure of what i should keep/upgrade and what wont be needed (ie fuel indicator will be a must) So what kinda tips/advice can you guys that have already done this sorta mod give me before i get going in a completely wrong direction? Also I have seen ppl mention this "painless wiring harness" when talking about JZ swaps but have no idea where to get it and what all it is capable of or what all it is used for when doing these swaps?

  24. Buying my first Z (1973) from another member on here set of race seats wheels and other wheel related goodies and sending to body shop for new paint and ZG flares
  25. Hope so lol...now to just figure out the tire size to get that perfect fit with the ZG
