  1. I ordered this kit today. I really wanted to keep the original lines on the car, and just enhance them: but I am doing the carbon fiber fenders and the carbon fiber BRE wing in back. It wasnt much more to upgrade from the fiberglass.
  2. can you pm me where you are finding the pan and pick up for? $400 seems like decent pricing to me.
  3. I am looking for a pan and pickup now. The motor shipping has the awd pan still, so I need a pan and pick up I can mod.
  4. Brent Interested depending on price/ quality. I am wanting to find something similar to a tein monoflex. I want it on the edge of a street use/ track use coilover. either way keep us informed.
  5. Oh the Beauty of Forza. Here are a few pictures of how I want the paint to look. I haven't decided exactly how much black there will be though yet.
  6. So I got the new motor ordered today. Yes I studied this one out and it is everything I wanted. Here is the ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380183687281&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT
  7. ^shot him a pm hopefully I hear from him soon. Just ordered a Cluster!
  8. ^Thanks I will keep this thread updated. I welcome positive criticism as well. I got started in my search and sure enough the motor was advertised as an R33 RB26, but in reality was from an R32 So now I am back on the search for a motor/ trans. The guy at JDM of Miami was very very easy to work with through the confusion including a full conversation of 3-6 emails on Christmas day. I was given a full refund within a couple of hours of talking to him as well. I did not have to file a dispute or pressure him. He admitted it was an accident and gave me my money back. Now to find something else!
  9. ^haha have you ever driven with a tall shifter like that? It's actually pretty awesome. We'll see what I find though.
  10. I started photoshoping today as I wait for the motor to ship. I am also getting ready to order gauges so I can install them as I have the car apart / am wiring everything. I want to do an alcantra/ suede dash with baseball stitching. Here is what I am thinking right now: I'm not sure though as I might want to leave the GTR cluster in one piece rather than separating to fit into the OEM Cluster cut outs. Here is a PS of it in the car:
  11. So with the late model R32 rb26's the issue was fixed with where the crank meets the oil pump? What year did that change?
  12. Yeah I emailed him with a list of reasons I do not believe that is a 33 motor. He assured me it is, and I told him if he ships it and it is a 32 I will for sure be disputing it etc. I have all records and emails of it so I should be fine.
  13. I sure hope its a 33 as described. What are the tell tales that its a 32 over 33? I don't want the issues that I have read come with the 32 rb26's!
  14. ^can you pm me pricing/ when you think it could be done by?
  15. What is the best oil pan alternative? I read that you have to change the pan, now is there and oem pan that fits or do i have to mod the stock 26 pan? I searched, but nothing seemed too clear.
  16. first on the agenda is make it run. I need to figure out the oil pan though still.
  17. Just looking for another car to have slide out of your driveway into the street in the snow!
  18. Ok enough clutter, I made a build thread. So let's all go here now: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1105906#post1105906
  19. Well all the local guys with motors were taking to long to get back to me, so I just ordered the RB26 (from a R33) from JDM of Miami. I expressed concern with the fact that I had heard of motors coming with low compression etc, and Carlos over there said he would email photos of a compression test on the motor he will personally do monday before shipping the motor. He also gave me a great deal by paying just through pay pal and not the ebay auction (this way I am still protected by pay pal). Anyways here is a picture of the engine as it sits: Here is the Ad: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180446054398&viewitem=&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D1&category=33615 I also printed out the full add before it comes down from ebay (to protect me).
  20. Picked up a few parts 4runner newly reconditioned brakes with new brake pads 2 Subaru power steering racks. McKinney 240z to Rb26det motor mounts and tranny mount. New. Never installed. Also picked up some power locks, and Power window assemblies. Project is getting started now that I am throwing money at it!
  21. So today i finally sold the STI. Not that I didn't love it, just wanted to eliminate the payment. Anyways along the way I had a guy try to trade me a 77 celica w/ f22c swap and a ton of goodies, for the car plus cash (obviously). I did everything that I could to come up with the cash to buy his car (you can't loan out for a 77 celica), but once I worked my pants off to get the money together, it turned out that he couldn't get financed on even half of what I was asking! I was really ticked as I really wanted the updated classic car, even if it had a few flaws. Anyways this all inspired me. You see his car was supposedly known as "el diablo" basically a super bad a mother sucker. A car unlike any other on the planet. Well I feel the sudden urge to one up him, so I am now going to build a 72 240z and update it as well, but better. I am not only doing this to one up him, I really want an updated classic, and the 240z is one of my favorites. So presenting the beginning of a beautiful relationship: The Virtue: 1972 240z All original with a few upgrades 71k original miles New Paint Just to begin, I am ordering the new heart: RB26 I know this is kind of childish, but I gotta spend that money I saved up! Here is a pic of "El Diablo"

  24. thanks for the observation. I will have to look into that. I am hoping I can get ride of the motor and trans soon as i will feel bad if they sit behind my house and are never used again! heater is a must so i better research.
  25. Had a closer look, I think the original paint was just grey/ silver hence the metal look in the bay. It has chips in it so I know its paint. and there is a little corrosion / rust under the battery. here is a pic of the motor etc.
