  1. The bidding is up over 500k. For that much you could start your own prono buisness and have a trailer skank every day for 15 min. of fun, sell the videos and make your money back.If someone really pays 500k+ they are one desprate fool.
  2. `71 240 with full interior and no after market lite weight stuff; L28/E31; added MSA strut bars and 1/2 a tank of gas = 2340LBS. I wonder why the 73's are 100 pounds more than the 71 and 72's? I have heard that the 70's are 1oo less than the 71's, is that true?
  3. If you give the bank a fraudulent casheers check you can be held liable and even face fines and jail time. I read an article about a woman that got scamed tring to sell her car. She took the check to the bank, they gave her the money, she handed over the car then a couple of weeks later the feds came after her! She never went to jail or paid a fine but all the money had to be paid back and she lost her car and had to pay a lawyer a lot of money. After reading that I stay away from money orders and cashers checks. I would go cash, paypal or bank transfer.
  4. I bought a set from JDMwerks on ebay for $355. They were shipped immediatly with no problems. You cuold try them as well.
  5. I am using the flywheel and clutch from Arizona Zcar. I paid $450 for the two together and received all the parts I needed. I have never had any problems and recomend it to anyone. I am not familiar with the flywheel you are looking into. I could not find a weight for iton the web site; do not go too light or the car will not be much fun on the street. IMO I would not go any lighter than 11 LBS. The flywheel I have is the 250mm size and weighs 13.5 LBS.
  6. I called them rims; I am 34 and probably wear my pants too high (like a nerd). I do see your point with the baggy pants crowd, and I guess technically they should be called wheels.
  7. I have been very close to being bitten by one. I was attacked by a nest of hornets once when I was in the top of a tree. My head was huge, I got stung on the lips a few times, I thought they were going to pop they got so big.
  8. I have been an arborist climbing trees for the past 11 years now. The techniques are similar to rock climbing only you have a chainsaw attached to you and do a lot of rigging of heavy peices of wood. I have enjoyed my time in the trees and have been extreamly scared at times too. The tallest tree I ever climbed was a 110 foot tall Pondarosa Pine. After 11 years though my body is worn out. I have shoulder problems, back problems (disk), and am looking at a 2nd surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome. Pace yourself and slow down when you feel pain in your joints or nerves. I did not pace myself and am paying the price, if you do go into slowly you should be able to last a long time. Of course I was climbing 40 hours a week for many months in a row so damage will occure. Most arborist climb for around three years or so then change careers. Amazingly I have never been hurt other than a worn out body, many people get severly injuried working on trees. People have started to climb trees recreationally now, especially in the northwest. Some of the bigger trees are over 275 feet tall. If you like rock climbing you would like tree climbing too, you should give it a shot. P.S. watch out for hornet nest!
  9. I tried guitar strings that were cryognicaly treated and the sound was not any better at all and they did not last any longer (like the label said they would). Strings are not the big producers of tone on a guitar anyway, the tone of a guitar come from the fingers of the player first and formost.
  10. 265's will fit on all four corners with zg flares on rims with a negative 19 offset and a stock suspension. The front clearence is very very tight. I would not run more than a 245 on the front for the street though. John Coffey had 275/45/16 Hoosier's which are 11.6 inches (= to a 295) wide and 25.2 inches tall with zg flares. If you search you might find out his specs. He used coilovers with that size tire. 225 on all four corners with out flares or coilovers on a 0 offset rim works. That is a lot of tire for a light weight car.
  11. Yea the job oportunities suck around here. If you can get a good job you keep it. I work for the City of Missoula as an Arborist. Now that the city has purchased much of the surrounding land I get to go out there and work, mostly forrest thinning projects. The pay for my job is about $5/hour less than the national average but $5/hour more than most of the people around here + decent bennies. I have not heard of that bar, there are tons of bars here. The great thing about mountains are the mountain roads. Some of the roads have made it into magazines like Road and Track. Highway 12 is one, it runs west from here. When you get to the top of the pass (Idaho border) there is a sign that says "winding road next 77 miles." The road follows the Lochsaw River through a very narrow canyon. I drive it quite a bit in the summer, you just have to watch out for elk, moose and logging trucks.
  12. My Grandmother lives in Blythevile now. She lives on the old airforce base that has been turned into housing for older people. Tyr Montana for winter weather. The summers are awesome though. If it gets to hot just go up. If it is 90 in town it is about 60 on the mountain tops. And the air is always dry.
  13. Magnum Rockwilder, He lives by the St. Frances River, not to far from Marion about 70 miles to the south, south west of Memphis. Blue Oval was right, he lives in the delta. The Mississippi is about 5 miles east of his house. The pumping station is just before the St. Frances River dumps into the Mississippi. They have 10 huge diesel motors that can pump hundreds of thousands of gallons of water an hour. The motors have 2 crank shafts, one on top and one on the bottom and each cylinder has two piston that travel towards each other, one from above and one from below. When they are at tdc and bdc the fuel is injected between the pistons. Each motor is about 15 feet long and drives a prop that is 10 feet across. My father's side of the family is from Arkansas, mostly Brinkly and Wheatly. My Grandfather farmed there most of his life.
  14. My uncle lives in Arkansas, he paid around 80k for a 3000 sq ft home on 35 acres with a pecan orchard and several large out buildings. He lives in one of the more depresed areas though. He works at a pumping station for the corp of engineers so he makes a lot of money but most of the people around there are poor farmers.
  15. That is awesome Larry. I love the color of the Guild top, it has that aged yellow look. I never have bought a Tele but it is on my "to do" list. I wish I had pictures of my guitars to put on but I don't I have 6 right now: 1999 Heritage Super Eagle, 18" , single cutaway jazz guitar just like a Gibson super 400CES. It has super curly AAAA flame maple back sides and neck and AAAA spruce top, incredible guitar. 2002 Heritage Jazz Delux, 17", single cutaway jazz guitar with a floating pickup. The wood is rather plain, no figure, mahogany back sides and neck and a spruce top. GOING UP FOR SALE SOON. 1938 Kalimazoo (made by Gibson) archtop. Mahogany back sides and neck and a spruce top. It does not have a truss rod so the neck is very thick but it still plays great even though it is nearly 70 years old. Fender Strat, with Seymore Duncan pickups for clarity, old school country sound, it gets a great blues sound when it is cranked. 1981 Gibson ES347, sunburst, I bought in 1992, it was in mint condition when I bought it but now after 13 years of bar gigs it has finish cracks, the finish on the neck is worn to bare wood in spots and the binding has turned yellow, it has age perfectly. When I open the case it smells like stale beer and an ashtry, I love it. I play this guitar the most. 1980 Gibson Flying V II, a very strange guitar with pickups shaped like Vees. It is hard to play because of the shape and balance and does not sound very good but it is so odd I will never get rid of it. I play through a Carr Slant 6V amp only. They are the greatest amps IMO. Hand made all tube circutry with piont to piont wiring, no transistors or circut boards. Made like an old amplifier (50 early 60's) but with modern technology blended in. Extremely flexable. I can play a dinner gig (jazz) and pack up go to the bar and play nasty agressive rock then go to an after hours party and play country all on the same amp. Check out the web site. www.carramps.com I play all the time. I started in 1982 when I was 12 and never stopped, I nearly failed high school playing the guitar and not doing or even going to school. I play a lot of blues, fusion and jazz gigs. I also play for theater productions for our community theatre and university. I love those gigs, they are old school, every thing is live. The band plays in a pit infront and below the stage and autitorium, with a conductor that will give you a hell of a stair if you F#!K up.
  16. Get a set of new 14" or 15" rewinds for less.
  17. I live in Missoula Montana. We have been going through a population boom over the last 10 years or so. The valley is surrounded by mountains so the area to build is limited and much of the open space around the city has been bought and turned to conservation lands by the city. So housing prices have gone way up. My 1000 sq ft house appraises around 175K now. Three years ago I bought it at the appraisal price which was 113K. Thats great for me but for a tiny starter home is way too expensive. The prices are much lower than CA but so are the wages. Montana ranks as the lowest percapita income in the nation. The average family (four people) makes just over 24k a year. In Missoula things are better the average is just under 40K a year. So two working people each making 20k is the equivilant of $10.50 per hour each. Our cost of living is 4% higher than the national average so things are not that great here either. People move here for the natural beauty, the low pay and high housing cost and rent (probably $850 a month for my house) is refered to as the scenery tax. I grew up in the south , Memphis TN, if I ever move from here I will go back to the south because the cost of living is way cheep down there and I can drive my car all year long and not worry about rust, the music scene and musicians are better, fresher fruit........
  18. IMO the Euro springs are the way to go for you. 10-15% is not a large bump in stiffness. You should be ably to go with a softer shock too like the KYB's. A stiff shock will make a more jarring ride than stiff springs. I have freinds that use Gabreil and NAPA shocks and love them, they are looking for the same type of ride you are. With the lowering springs and softer shock make sure you keep the bump stops, new ones would be prefered.
  19. There are many reasons for their hatred of our "western" culture, enough to write a book. Western culture is not reserved for America. Terrorism started in the 30's against France when they occupied parts of Northern Africa. Arab cultures have fought the invasion of Western cultures into their land for hundreds of years. 911 was one of many thousands of attacks on western culture. Yes we have fueld the fire and done many things and broken many promises all of which reenforce their perception of us. So in essence we were attacked because of our culture. We are into the politics and religion of the Arab Countries because of oil, mainly Saudi Arabia. Interestingly though, their religious leaders invited us to their country at the request of the Saidi King. We were invited because they did not have the money or technology to mine the oil from their ground. The money from their oil has made them one of the richest countries on earth from one of the poorest in less than 100 years. They have cars and shopping malls and educated women. In order to sell oil to the world they had to take on certain aspects of western culture. Now Saudi Araba is the receipient of terrorism attacks from some of their own people because they have become too "western," Saudi Arabia lives in a self induced "Catch 22."
  20. The academic population has long been the target of extermination in countries taken over by a police regime, like Kampuchea in the early `70's. The reasoning for extermination lies in the power of amademic individuals to insite unrest in the populous. The "little Eichmanns" speach is a perfect example, he has developed a sharp division amoung many people. Of course in America the government cannot exterminate people (as far as we know); however, America does exterminate people politically (McCarthy trials in the 50's) thus ruining there carrers and altering there lives forever. The fabulous thing about America is the freedom of speach given us all. We can think what we want and advertise it through vocalization. If he is fired, especially on the Governers' say, then America takes a step toward the type of government it combats as I type this. If the guy offends enough people he will sink his own ship, and the U.S. government should stay out of the fray and protect its own constitution. I understand where he is comming from in his speach but his form of delivery is appauling. The 911 victims are not comparible to Natzies in ther every day world of buisness. Though he can write with intelligence, he is mighty stupid to say the things he said. He has some underlying issues only the best team of shrinks could deal with.
  21. Why do think they are not BBS? I could not find a CCW Emblem or BBS in the pictures but BBS does make wheels like that and they are extremly expensive.
  22. I think you will realy enjoy the LSD both on the course and on the street.
  23. Magnum Rock, the LSD differential Carrier does not change the gearing of the differential. The ring and pinion gears set the ratio. If you do not change the ring and pinion then the ratio will not change.
  24. http://www.takumiproject.com/brand.asp?brand=RS%20WATANABE Look at these guys. They should be able to get the size you are looking for. The 16 inchers with the gold lip are beautiful wheels.
  25. The 15x7 Rewinds are designed to be used on a non flared z, they have a 0 offset which leaves the wheel and tire inside the fender with a 225/50 or smaller tire. with a 245/50 they would hit the fender but would not fill the flares enough to look good. To fill the flares you should use a wheel that is wider and has a neg offset like the ones you have read about in the other replies. If it were me I would go for a 16x8.5 with a -12 offset with 245/45/16 in the back and 225/45or50 in the front. You could go wider with 17 inch wheels but they start to weigh more and the diameters get rather large. Smaller lighter wheels and tires feel the best.
