Its more then a win/win, its something that's required on a severly lowered early Z car. Without sectioning the car has almost no bump travel and will not handle well. It can even be dangerous in extreme situations with suspension parts banging together.

Not that I know of. Might work but you would have to do some testing to be sure. This thread has a discussion about intakes for the L6: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=100469 You'll also want to make extensive use of the search function.

Im looking for Ideas here/too improve/new tool box

Not true! I didn't say it was a bad investment, just a bad idea. We all know how bad ideas can draw lots of investment money. -
With a Tazer you need the new, electrically conductive KY Jelly. I'm surprised Alex didn't already know that...

Yeah, that's it! Let's take a perfectly reasonable, functional, cheap, and easy to use system and f**k it up with a database. You type in the job and the frickin' SQL query runs so long it times out and the drawers all lock. Got a problem? Make it more expensive and much worse with a computer... -
Yup, Angles are playing the As at 7:05pm. I'll be at the game. I'll also be at the autocross at California Speedway on Saturday and walking aorund at the MSA show Sunday. I'll be wearing my official BetaMotorsports T-shirt and carrying a Nissan Motorsports race oil pan. I'd wear the pan as a hat but its pretty heavy and the oil would ruin my doo.

Im looking for Ideas here/too improve/new tool box

I do that even when I've had the tool in my hand. I'll walk to the tool box, get a socket, walk back to the car and the socket is gone! I then walk around for 5 minutes and find the socket on the workbench next to where I set my Coke down. -

A Nissan Master Mechanic who's a good friend organizes his tool box based on the most common jobs he performs. All the tools needed for a specific job are together in one drawer or on one side of a drawer. He does have duplicate tools but he just needs to open one drawer to do 80% of the jobs he does every day. He claims over the years that this system has made him thousands of dollars and he only has to update annualy when the new models come out. -

Aussie for f***cking like we Yanks say, "F***cking around." Spent some time working with a banana bender and had to use this now and then to understand what the dag was saying. http://www.aussieslang.com/ -

Funny, there isn't a picture of the engine compartment and the links to other photos don't work. Again, treat it like any other used car deal. Be skeptical.

Change the toe out to the setting recommended when you're at the track. You'll have to set it back for the street. It will help but, without being able to change the other settings, you'll just have to live with the understeer at turn in.

No, its right side up for my engine...

This R Tyre Wear Pattern Tells Us ????

Too much air pressure hot. Although its hard to see there doesn't appear to be enough scuff on the outside of the tire. The V700s need to scuff to the top of the treadwear triangles on the outside edge of the tread. Try starting at 26 psi cold. Either that or you're driving like a little girl... What are the tire temps? -
This is so funny... First the ATI Super Damper, now this. Over the weekend I dug out a bunch of Z parts I have on the shelves and was planning on selling them on eBay. One of the parts is a Tabco (made in Taiwan) right rear 1/4 panel that I've had for God knows how long. Here's a picture: Anyway, I'll sell it for $150. Shipping will get expensive. I have a big cardboard box that it will fit in (for the CF hoods I sell) but the box and packaging will cost you $95 and shipping will probably be $100. That's expensive but its the best I can do to get the parts to OK in good shape. Let me know if you're interested.

Absolutely possible and its kind of a normal behavior for the Z. The Z has always had a poor turn-in response. What size and type of tires are you running? What air pressures cold and hot? Do youn take tire temps? If so, what are they? What kind of rear diff are you running? Now assuming you're not causing the problem yourself via driving style (throwing too much steering at the start of the turn, sloppy off the brakes at turn in, trail braking too much at turn in) here are some options: Alignment Front Camber - 3 neg Caster - 6 pos Toe - 1/8 to 3/16 out Alignment Rear Camber 2.5 neg Toe - 1/16 in Rake - 1/2" forward rake Reduce the size of your front anti-roll bar to 1" or 25mm. Reduce the size of your rear anti-roll bar to 19mm or 3/4". Reduce front spring rate to 225 lb. in. while keeping the rear at 250 lb. in. Replace the Tokicos with Koni 8610s or some custom Bilstiens (you're pretty much at the spring rate limit for the Tokicos).

Treat the deal like any other used car deal. Check out the 240SX for the normal stuff (rust, damage, salvage title, etc.) Look at the quality of the swap (driveline angles, parts used, fab quality) and make your decision then. Be aware of the tricks your mind will play on you... You'll find enough things wrong with the 240SX after 6 months of ownership that you'll feel like you got the worse end of the trade. Plus, you'll soon forget the problems you have with the Z28 and tend to exaggerate its good qualities now that its gone.

I guess this is a good a place as any... I'm disassembling the ROD's engine because someone bought the block and all the internals. The buyer doesn't want the ATI Super Damper and Gilmer belt drive setup, so its for sale as a unit. ATI Super Damper for the Nissan L28, Moroso Gilmer pully, water pump with Moroso Gilmer pulley, 280ZX single wire alternator with brackets and a Moroso Gilmer pulley, and a Gilmer belt. The whole setup for $450 plus shipping and sales tax if you're in CA. FYI... Summit lists the damper at $419.95 new.

Where did this rant come from? It was a teenage clerk and a store manager at Best Buy! When big government showed up (the Secret Service) the problem was solved.

If you suspect it at all, replace it. Was car number two in a four car pack and I saw something fly out of the engine compartment of the ITS 240Z I was right behind. It flew over my car and went through the front windshield of car number three in the pack. Car number three braked hard, car number four rear ended car number three, and both spun off the track. Meanwhile car number one started smoking real bad and pulled off the track. By the time the fire crews got there car number one had burned up the entire engine compartment. One failed balancer took out three cars...

There's some terminolgy confusion here. The term "fuel cell" refers to the actual container the the fuel is in. That container is usually a Kevlar or high impact rubber bladder that contains foam, the fuel pickup, and a top plate for all the connections. The "fuel cell" itself needs to be in some kind of container (aluminum, sheet metal, plastic, fiberglass) to support the weight of the fuel, help the "fuel cell" retain its shape, provide a mounting solution, and protect the "fuel cell" from road debris. All fuel cells are in some kind of container already.

I don't think the KYBs will be able to handle the spring rates you list. And, as said above, you'll have to cut off the stock lower spring perches and weld on the new lower spring perch ring. You'll have to calculate where to weld on the lower spring perch based on the stroke of your shocks and the free length of your springs.

Gasoline vapors are heavier then air so they flow down and collect in low spots.

I thought this was a joke, then I realized it was real, and then realized again that its a really bad joke... The UN, in its infinite wisdom, has spent millions of dollars developing a video game that will help children "...learn about food aid, and help us create a world without hunger." FYI... the download is 227 MEGABITES! Bloated just like the UN itself! http://www.food-force.com/ Look at "The Team." If it wasn't such a waste of money it would be really funny.
