  1. Color? Copper or burnt orange metallic. The four tip exhaust looks a bit extreme--going to put 3" tips on each one? Davy
  2. I am amazed at how many skilled seniors are NOT taking advantage of all their knowledge and ability and doing their utmost to hire themselves out at being consultants in their various disciplines. I'll give you an example: my own father has worked years and years in the airline industry, but never decided to use all his knowledge to hire himself out. I really think he is lacking in self confidence or something, because he has truly gained valuable experience in certain areas. Anyway, this is an idea and I think you can get contract work as a consultant for short periods of time. The consultants I know make more in a few months then they ever did over years of run of the mill employee work. They have more time and money now. Sounds like a plan. Davy
  3. Probably my oldest daughter Davy
  4. That is a big fat bummer. Grrr Davy

Granted, but this topic has been discussed several times before. The search function seems to apparently not work for some or at least it worked better when the "search all forums" function was still available. We lost a lot of old archives, apparently, when the site was upgraded. Too bad---all that old priceless info... Davy
  6. Buy and install a used coil-over suspension setup from someone who has a Z car. It's fully adjustable and bargain priced--same thing I did, only it came out to being 'free' since I sold parts off of the parts car I had purchased. Davy
  7. I think it is safe to assume that they are very good quality and you never have to worry about them at all. I won't. Davy
  8. No, there sould not be any abnormal things in general, BUT you might want to swap spacers side to side if you go JTR. Remember: JTR kit has different thicknesses of spacers for each side. AFAIK, that's about it... Davy
  9. That $60,000,000 figure is pure inflated BS from the Governor himself and the participating media AFAIC Davy
  10. The blue and the white "diamond" shapes are from the Bavarian flag, where the car is made: BMW = "Bavarian Motor Works." Boobala is correct in stating it is a propeller design, but the colors have deeper meaning then you think. I know, my mother was Bavarian. Davy
  11. Uuuh, Tim, the Japanese have been doing it for years.... You still own a Z right? Davy
  12. Sorry to hear of the troubles. How you handle the adversity will tell you what kind of character you have and what kind of a man you are...your fiancee will see it too... Hang in there, keep your chin up, be a man, and never ever give up. Congrats on the upcoming marriage! Davy
  13. No. Do not try to cobble anything together either---not worth the time or money to do so. Get a 700R4 and make that work instead. You'll need to modify the tranny tunnel most likely and the driveshaft for sure. The rear end is probably not up to the task of the new power, but a lot of it depends on what kind of tire you will run. Look into substituting the rear end with a pickup or wagon diff (solid axel, no?) from a 510 wagon or 620(?) pickup---just a thought--if it will work. A 210 with a V8 would be great IF it will fit under the hood and stay cool as well. A 5.0 Ford V8 might be better choice with the disty in front of the motor instead of behind. Davy
  14. Hmmm, I had not thought about that! Wow, more money for Z car projects!!!!! Actually, I really do need to buy a Suburban in the next month or so for my wife, and that is where the money will be going. Thanks for all the congrats!!! Davy
  15. Wow--that totally made a difference on the unsprung weight of your car. I'd love to see some stats on what just the weight savings alone will do for handling over a variety of surfaces. As for Vette brakes--you must have it all, huh? Davy
  16. The whole front end and just about everything attached to it can be interchanged. The doors cannot, neither can the window mechanisms inside be interchanged. Interior plastic behind the seats cannot be interchanged very well. Beyond that, for the most part. they are very similar. Davy
  17. I agree! This is going to mean a lot to his family--especially his son!! Think about all the other costs--especially travel costs, etc for such a condition, not to mention the doctors bills. Guys, this is a worthy cause. David
  18. She doesn't know!!! lol If I had told her about my Garrett turbo for the V8... Seriously, "Garrett" means "Warrior" and "Liam" means "Protector," so it sounded good to us when we were discussing names. Even though neihter of us is Scotch-Irish, nearly all of our kids have such names--funny how that is. Thanks for the congrats and well wishes, guys! Davy
