  1. Good to hear--I miss your sence of humor. If you get the time, post once in a while. BUY Z TOO! Davy
  2. Nope 'taint photoshop, but I agree that it looks "wrong" A bit ugly too, but worth a world record if you ask me! Davy
  3. This forum or you can annouce it and put the pics in your personal album Davy
  4. I asked the question to get a reaction, because I last talked to him a month ago. He is working a warehouse job (for the same company he was in retail manager's position, but getting tired of the BS) which he really likes, still rides his Harley, and has a new girl to put on the back of it Dan Juday: His Toyota is dust, his Z was sold to Van, and he now has a life outside of this board, although I do miss the guy and hs humor. SuperDan: Pauli was a cool dude and always had some good things to say. I don't know how many guys remember him, but once he came back after a long hiatus and said "hi" but I was the only person who responded to his post. I'm sure he felt a bit cold from that and he never posted since. Davy
  5. No, they are very elongated and look great. I would love to see side by side comparo's of the same set up with and without that special nut. My guess is that it helps, but ever so slightly... Davy
  6. The brakes are the best part!! Wow, that thing is going to be great when you're finished. Davy
  7. It probably is true, so buy the mandrel bends and have him weld them, just as was suggested--that is the exact way that Bob Lapp at Rio Muffler does his for our cars: he takes 3" exhaust systems he has hanging around for trucks or cars, and then cuts them up and rewelds them to fit the Z car. Voila, instant 3". I have a 3" system, but not installed into the car yet. It came off a Z car, so I know it will fit. It was custom made using premade mandrel bent tubing. Davy
  8. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=23054&highlight=corvette+rear+end This topic has been nicely discussed before. The information is in the archives and can be gleaned from using the search function. I know you will find it helpful! The R200 won't give you any worries--it's the half shafts that you have to be careful of. Usually the U-joints are what breaks in a sticky launch situation. Do some reading and you'll find all you need... Davy
  9. http://www.gmsportssalvage.com/ is a good place to start. Davy
  10. Since you have no job, I would think money would be an issue...at least a little bit. Therefore, if you know something about rebuilding an engine, I would buy a block or used motor for cheap, have some minor machine work done on it and rebuild the motor. This is not your daily driver is it? Hope not. http://www.northernautoparts.com has some inexpensive rebuild kits. Just something to think about. My $.02. Davy
  11. Very well said. All he has to do is a little (very little if you ask me) research to find out he is mistaken. Unforunately he already knows it all... Davy
  12. ...Or Lone, SCARP, and Pauli? Davy
  13. Stupid gland nuts...I have shortened struts just sitting soaking in PB Blaster trying free the gland nut from the rust that has enveloped the threads and everything...grrrr I swear I'm riuning the gland nut trying to take it (them) off! I may have to get a *gasp* professional to do it Davy
  14. SPIIRIT, the stories are great, Bud, but make sure you put them in the Non-tech forum. Be aware that we moderators are responsible for "house-cleaning" the forums to make sure that the topics stay categorized. In a short time, these will end up there. Keep the stories coming! We'll certainly be reading them. ...and do write a book of them only be sure to personally sign mine. Davy
  15. Yes, the 2+2 windows would work, BUT the glass and surrounding metal frame are not the same size as the 2 seater units. The last time I took a look at the 2+2 quarter glass, the pop-out mechanism looked like it could be transferred, but you would have to drill holes in the glass... I plan on looking into it in the future when I can come by another 2+2. Sheesh, Z cars are getting more and more scarce in the yards everyday. Davy
  16. Absolutely hillarious!! Davy
  17. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar...with too much time on your hands Seriously, that is EXCELLENT information and I thank you for posting that. I now know that the LTD unit is the animal to hunt when I'm at Pik-n-pul Thanks!! Davy
  18. This was discussed eons before and as I remembered it, it was necessary BUT very very hard to find. I don't recall what the reason was; I'm going manual so I don't file that info away. Davy
  19. From a book or from your past?? If you wrote it, write a book. Davy
  20. The "before and after" pics show the progress coming along quite nicely--apparently we have similar tastes! Black interiors rule, so do smaller spoilers Nice work Davy
  21. Looking mean! Nice progress; you must be stoked! Davy
