    check this out

Solid lifters or just really lumpy cam?? Davy
  2. Something always gets in the way of progress...even holidays! lol Due to this forum, there will be a shortage of R230's in the near future, I can bet on it. Jason, when did you get that R230? Did I know you had it?? Hmmm. Davy
  3. Man, they would have to be stronger, considering a Q45 is well over 4000 lbs with big tires and a V8. One of these days I'll have to crawl under mine to see what the heck it really looks like. I have never had a problem with the car so I have never been under it Davy
  4. If it's not totally shot, buy it! A V8Z that runs is fun, even though it may look ugly; but for $500, what do you expect? Davy
  5. Jason, please box up the parts and send them to my mailing address immediately. I wouldn't want you to be dissappointed in any way with your results, so I'll take everything off your hands now for a cool $100. How about that??? Seriously, it sounds like a recipe for fun Davy
  6. Those prices should have you pumped! Welcome to the forum and just read read read while you collect the parts for the swap. Have you purchased a JTR manual yet for the swap, or are you doing something else??? Let us know. Davy
  7. Thomas, that engine should be plenty to deal with the other cars in your neighborhood--don't worry about hp, since your engine makes sick amounts of torque anyway according to Pete!! You'll have problemos just getting it to hook...but when it does, LOOK OUT Davy
  8. I have seen the big radiator in the "mule" Z car and it works really well. However, if you look at the next page, you'll see the 400+ ci Chevy powered Z with the "wimpy" aluminum Camaro unit--no problems reported by them, and there are a number of guys running that same radiator. Just make sure the fan sucks enough (air) to cool everything down. I bought a JY Taurus unit as did some of the other guys, instead of the Flex-a-Lite Blak Magic fan. It was cheaper... Davy
  9. Not running it yet, but I have an upgraded HEI with Accel Supercoil mounted on top and re-curve kit too. Davy
  10. You got it, great!!! Congrats for getting it--they are rare now. Ditto on what you said about getting it to someone that knows what they are doing. Maybe some of the body and paint guys know, like Van maybe?? Davy
  11. yeah, that's right--very hard finding the "right" parts for anything...just have to get lucky I guess. Davy

    HybridZ FAQ

Thanks, Owen I'm taking that as permission to reproduce your information (in some form) with pictures if necessary. Thanks, man. Davy
  13. Looks absolutely wicked, Don. I can't believe the sleeper image your car has, but now with the new wheels, it's showing signs of it's potential I'll be sure and avoid all orange Z cars when I'm passing thru Gilroy lol Sweet wheels, man! Davy
  14. Omar, What you are saying is in effect true, but you are talking about the "Nth degree" of something. In the real world, is 1 or 2 degrees of heat difference worth the work, not mention the sacrilege, of painting a Howe or a Griffin radiator black? I dunno, just a thought. Davy

    HybridZ FAQ

Jeromio, OK, I'll do as much R230 research and faq as I can, and I'll email it to you when I'm finished. Thanks for taking the bull by the horns on this one. Davy

    HybridZ FAQ

    Sounds good too me. Davy

    HybridZ FAQ

Jeromio, the R230 stuff should be together with the diff stuff, not separate. I'll do the R230 in MS Word and send it to you as an attachment in email, is that ok? Let me know... Davy
  18. Ditto on what John said. FWIW, you might want to find out what kit he used to rebuild the carb. Holley kits are the ONLY ones I would use; they are no more expensive than anything else, they have the correct parts, and they are readily available at Kragen/Shucks, etc. Davy
  19. Thure, the guys at gearzone.net raced Jags--they developed the T5 internal balancers, etc. Davy
  20. My brother and I are using 10-3 for a 30 amp dryer circuit, so...I think that their recommendation may be good. I'm not an electrician, but the 8-3 is beefier than a 10-3, yes? If so, it sounds right by the rule of thumb (educated guess). Davy
  21. Thanks guys! I hope to do as little work as possible so don't try anything stupid... Davy
  22. Then the engine will have sweet power for a Z. I don't have a program for computing hp, but I know you must be at 350 hp or higher. Sounds like a very very fun motor in a Z (cam is good for streetability and excellent torque) It'll be a blast to drive Davy
  23. This topic has come up now and again; the 377 seems to be very intruiging to a lot of guys. Here is a link to just one of the threads: http://www.hybridz.org/ubb/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000712 Use the search function at the top right hand corner of your screen. Just type in something like 377, and you'll get more info than you can read in one day. Also, try the AFR (heads) site. They have a build up of a 377 (or 350??) using a 400 block. A smaller crank from a 327 in a 400 block seems pretty cool. You would not be lying telling people it's a 350! Davy
  24. quote: Originally posted by lonehdrider: Maybe try to use it as a auxillary until I can slowly switch circuits over (with new wiring runs for each circuit) to the new box one by one, over time, and then finally get rid of the Nissan one. Any flaw in that logic? Lone, I see no flaw except that you may find it difficult to route new wires from the engine compartment thru the firewall thru the same hole as the present ones. What will you do for room? Maybe this does not even apply, but who knows? It very well may be an issue. Davy
