notheredave
Your gonna love the throttle response of that supercharger. I have the "112" on a 6.0L LQ4 in my car. You might consider using a second stock hood to fab a cowl profile, It worked with my project allowing me to get the clearances I needed but no more than necessary. I have the stock 4.6 DOHC in there now (waiting for welding) but I have another 4.6 DOHC with "C" heads at the machine shop being bored, and balanced etc. Which has forged pistons, forged crank, and "H Beam" rods...I bought a gt42 for it but I am now thinking of running a supercharger and an custom sheetmetal manifold including a water to air intercooler. jnewby
I had a 93 mark VIII in high school, around that time I also aquired an 280z at an auction, I always wanted to do the swap, but never did because of the wiring, I ended up doing the small block chevy swap, It turned out pretty good, sold that car. Ended up buying an 240z Did another swap, sbc again. I think the 4.6 would be alot more fun though. I do miss the performance of that motor. Your car looks great cant wait to see it running. Sorry about the life story.

notheredave
Here's my stub axles, sectioned struts and Starion Wheels. I got my machined stuff back and it was wrong. So here's some pictures. I will have to machine the struts for the camber plates. I will need spacers for the Z32 Calipers.
notheredave
yah...I just installed the front suspension minus struts and spindles (at the machine shop)and mocked up the wheels to se if I had room for spacers which I will install tomorrow. notheredave
I have it on stands and with jacks to measure the wheel clearances..It looks like I will need flares...I am off by 1-2 inches. I solved the front z32 caliper setup problem with the Starion wheels by adding a 1" spacer. Here are some pictures...I will know better once I have the front hubs and the modified camber pieces and the front stuts needed to be turned down for the camber plates. aaster
people say the new 5.0 coyote motor is an easier swap then the 4.6's but i wonder if its any wider. if it would clear the 240z body i would be looking into buying a brand new crate motor. LMoore56
Look at the new 5.0 from the F150, it is alot cheaper, and other than the intake manifold. It looks real similar to the Coyote 5.0. They probably changed the cams, like they did on the 90's 5.0's that they put in the trucks. Not performance at all.

The 4.6's are usually low mileage and cheap at Pick Your Parts or Ecology. Also they are only 10hp from the Cobra Motors in LSC form. I didn't realize that I had this old account and it's still me notheredave...I lost my password for the other account. Well I have changed my mind on these wheels and brakes for now (because I would have to flare the fenders and more) So I went back to the big 14" brakes and the Mercedes Benz 18"X8.5" rims with small 225's on them now. I put a half inch spacer on all 4's and went long ARP studs and had everything redrilled for the 112mm X 5 lug pattern. I checked the ground clearance which for now will be 5.5" (stock is 6.3") and when I need tires I will be putting 255/40R18's on there. The machine shop has been pushing the work for the last 3 weeks but claims that everything will be done next week...YEAH Also I am either going to polish these or powder coat...Have'nt decided yet.
