HCS01
Hello all, I am in the process of a more extensive upgrade than originally planed (1972, modded when I got it), and wanted to know if anyone is aware of any differences in seat mounting between a '72 240 and a '75 260. I found that Sparco makes a bracket for the '75, so i wanted to check with the people who would know best. I believe I saw a thread on this a while back, but my search-fu is lacking and I have not been able to find it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
johnc
Maybe. Nissan changed the seat mounting and seat sliders for the 280Z model but I don't know if that change took place in the 75 model year or later.
BluDestiny
You can have custom seat brackets made by these guys (http://www.wedgeengineering.net) takes some time, but if they mess up, you can return it free of charge and they will make you a new one. Cost me about $100 per bracket, had them made for my my ZX and 260z. Mine were made to use sparco sliders Edited July 3, 2011 by BluDestiny
cygnusx1
Change took place sometime in late 1976 or 77. 1977 is different than my 4/76. 72 is different than both. The 260Z is probably like the early 280Z. Edited July 3, 2011 by cygnusx1
z240
http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?42712-A-Questionl.-240-280-seats Recently discussed over at czcc. There are three different seat brackets. Basically 240-early 260, then late 260' 75-76 280, then 77-78. all seat cushions exchange years and mount to the brackets, but bracket to floor mounting is very different. 240 have studs, all others use bolts just to show how different they are.
