alainburon
Holy crap man, that car is going to look like a space ship. Just be careful when flying....

texis30O
I forgot to add this to my page. I have replaced the rockers on both sides of the car due to rust, as well as a few small patch panels. I am shaving the fuel door and the antenna hole. Wheels will be to my by mid December ( I hope). I bought 2 more 240z cars 4/72 and a early 71. The 71 will get freshened up and sent off to sale in the spring. https://youtu.be/XjWzKD2CCK8

texis30O
Adding some photos of the rust removal and repair panels. Car has been stripped down to metal. New weatherstripping kit is going to be used for EVERYTHING. my custom SevenK wheels will be in my hands by the first week of Jan. I hoped for a good Christmas but no luck. On another note I have dropped off my 4/72 240z off to get roadworthy. Plans for that car will be coilovers, full motor build, 5 speed swap, Rear diff swap, wheels, full interior, LED lighting all exterior, new paint.... I have a long way to go on that car.... texis30O
More rust was found on the car than I would like to admit. So all rust is being cut out and repaired. I have also opened up the rear wheel well to accommodate a 28" tire up from my current 26" set up.... It should all tuck under the flares.... alainburon
I know the feeling man, mine was the same way except my doors were good and I was able to find a pair of brand new OEM fenders. You would be better off buying a good hatch for it than spending a bunch of labor on fixing that one. Ask me how I know.....LOL.
texis30O
finally on the road. The wife and kids are going to the beach this week so I will have some time to work out some bugs on the car. This is from ZCon this past weekend on Saturday in Austin https://www.instagram.com/p/BVvCxyWhAv4/?taken-by=zq280z
alainburon
Looks good man, glad you went with gloss paint. I can't wait to get mine on the road too.
texis30O
I just want to do some pulls on the highway next to each other.... lol I am glad I went glossy as well. I would have drove myself MAD trying to keep up with the matte finish. In the end this will be better I think. Now to keep working out the bugs.... texis30O
electrical. I have Z LEDs front blinkers, sidemarkers and rear tails that all need to be wired in, as the factory set up doesn't work properly, I need to put in my keyless entry system I bought, I need to make sure my headlights are fully functional with the parking lights on them, I am pulling my front tires tonight to go in the AM and drop off the wheels to be balanced as I had a pretty bad shake at 70+ mph... which means I didn't get out of 3rd the other day.... I need to make sure all of my interior lighting is working, I need to make the spacers for my rearview mirrors and put all of them on the car, passenger window needs to be adjusted to roll up and down properly, passenger lock needs to be adjusted to operate, I need the plastic pull knobs for them so they match, I need a few other interior clips, install the Millhouse gauge pods for my Speedhut gauges..... just a few things..... alainburon
I know the feeling man, we are still trying to get all the electrical stuff wired properly on mine. Re-wiring these cars is no fun and games.
texis30O
after my car started to light itself on fire I quickly realized that it ALL needed to be done on this car. I swear.
alainburon
Holy carp man, sounds like you had an interesting weekend in Austin. I know some give me a hard time about how long it's taken to do my car but I'm replacing every single wire on this thing. It's easy to run a painless set up but that does not change everything. All I can tell you is that I hate wiring with a passion and can't wait to be done with it. Let me know if you need nay help man, after dealing with mine I'm getting better at it. texis30O
So this will make 3 of 3 shows I have entered and taken home hardware. All class wins. I have not once entered any of these events and thought I should win. To me my car has so many flaws still that need to be fixed or changed, but then I own it. More changes coming in the near future. I hope to have the interior done in 2018. That would include HVAC, ele power steering, new interior panels, dash, installing my Mill House gauge pods, and some other things.....
