In fact the contour of the rail is a bit complex to match the actual contour of the floor itself. Pretty sure I'm not wrong. If the 240 has shorter rails, and you tried to put a 240 SFC on a 280 it would not reach the floor because it is not tall enough. Since there are both 240 and 280 rails being made no one is suggesting you should put a 240 frame rail on a 280. One puts a 280 rail on a 280, they fit better that way.
