Gen
Could someone please help me to identify these senders on my motor. I've read the FSM and could only figure out that I should have a Thermotime switch, sender to gauge, sender to ECU and something for the EGR. I just would like to know what is what. Thanks, Gen
NewZed
Pretty sure that the one on the lower left is the thermotime switch, lower right it is the coolant temperature sensor, upper right is the EGR switch or the top gear vacuum advance switch, upper left is gauge sender. Looking at the picture, not position on the car. There's actually a drawing somehwere in the FSM that shows and labels all of them.
BluDestiny
I agree with newzed, but the the top right in my 280zx is actually a temp sender to my cold start injector. I know there is a picture of all of these labeled somewhere. I found it once when someone asked the same question. It may have been on Zcar.com though
LanceVance
I know there is a picture of all of these labeled somewhere. I found it once when someone asked the same question. You may be thinking of a thread I started a while back. Unfortunately the labeled picture was for a two bolt housing, not the three bolt which he appears to be using. Here is the link anyhow, perhaps some part of it may help! Thermostat Housing Sensor Questions PS: Those three bolt housings can clean up pretty nice! Edited December 10, 2012 by LanceVance
BluDestiny
That thread is also pretty helpful, but the one I'm talking about was on Zcar and it was much older, it had a picture and labeled the sensors on the picture and talked about what position they were at using time (the sensor at 1 o'clock etc). I don't think the picture made it though since I found a similar thread but the pic link was broken
