Wedge
Hi everyone, Im just writting this to show what i have done to shorten my shifter bracket so it can poke through in the cab its basicly free if you weld. So here are the pictures i took. First we have the original brace marked for the cutting. Then I cut completely the shaft form the linkage. Then rewelded everything at work grinded and painted. You will have the grind a little under the brace so that it doesnt hit the linkage. The linkage shorten and welded. The underside of it all. Top view. Basiclly I just cuted then reweld in between the "legs" easy as 123. I wish i had kept the picture of when I had it cutted Ill search for them and post them later if i find them. Hope it helps some else for a cheap almost free solution to shifter relocation. Edited April 16, 2013 by Wedge

///M3 & Z
Hey after doing this mod does the shifter sit nice in the shifter hole of a 240z or is it closer to the back of the hole? How does the feel of the shifter's throw and everything feel compared to before doing the mod?
Wedge
The transmission is not in the car yet but my guess is that it will be almost the same as 240hoke's adapter so it should be in the back but very close to center. From the measurements i took it should be fine. I measured from engine mount to center of tranny hole and when I removed the center shaft on the linkage it was very close to the center measurments. Wedge
I'm sad to report that the shifter doesn't line up center in the hole its in the back like I measured but not center. Stay tune for the solutions. Edited May 9, 2015 by Wedge
