You should have done the Q45 swap your self, saved some money and bought a new carpet kit.

I bet Q45 swap would cost a lot more . As far as performance upgrades , you will spend more money too . 4 cams vs. 1 . Probably heavier too .

I think he was refering to the differential swap, not the engine. :)

seeing as you guys seem to have a lot of experience with these LS engines, can anyone tell me what fuel line size and fuel pump you are running.

I'm runninf a carter superpump with number 8 in and out , feeding a surge tank, then a number 8 feeding the suction side of a walbro 255 lph pump,

and suppllying the requlator is a number 6 fuel line.  the requlator is set at 60 psi.  The car pulls hard through to th top of third and falls flat on its face

going into 4th.  It is driving me nuts. Any help here would be appreciated

Is the surge tank being sucked dry?  Seems like an awefully complicated fuel system. I have a single external walbro 255, -6 in/out, corvette regulator right by the tank, and a single -6 feed line going to the rail.

Walbro's are pusher pumps and not pullers, so if your pump is higher than the outlet of the surge tank, it might be cavitating.

pics of your setup?

I don't have a pic, but the  pump is well below the surge tank and almost at the bottom of the 240 fuel tank.

the reason I went to the set up because it was doing it at the drag strip going into fourth gear.  The first thought was

that the stock pick up was too small to I had that increased to 1/2".  That did not solve the problem so I thought it might be

that the fuel was sloshing around so much the the fuel was getting aerated, hence the surge tank. Which fuel tank are you running in your car?

Its a fabricated aluminum tank with a -10 pickup. 1/2" is plenty.  Have you looked at any logs to see that you're not losing spark or anything like that?

Unfortunately no logs yet, when it did it last year I plummed the pressure gauge up so I could see it and it was losing fuel pressure in conjunction with the power loss,so after some research I thought the surge tank would solve the problem, I like to have some track time with the car when it is done as well so I thought the surge tank would also work well for cornering.  Might even be as simple as a bad pump but not sure

I have the exact same setup in the same locations as well.
