SleeperZ
I have always thought about learning to weld, and a friend of mine is clearing out his garage, and I picked this up. It's a mig, correct? It came with the argon bottle, regulator, spare wire and tips, plus the cart. Personally I think he gave me a great deal, he said it works great, and it was upgraded from 90A to 120A. Any speculation on what it's worth? OldAndyAndTheSea
Nice purchase. Love me a Hobart/Miller. The Handler is a great line. I'd say that setup is worth around 500 with the bottle and accessories. I say this because my new Hobart Handler 140 and 80 cubic feet bottle was around 700. It's almost a shame it came with a cart.... That's usually a real fun first project. Edited September 24, 2013 by OldAndyAndTheSea
SleeperZ
Wow. He asked me for $150 and I paid it. My first project is fixing some steel railing on my porch.
OldAndyAndTheSea
yeah, if it still functions as it should, you stole that setup. Nice acquisition.
78zstyle
Bloz, what welder do you use? Im half considering picking up one of those harbor freight welders for a few things.
Tony D
Skip the HF Welder, go with a brand name. I'm not normally that way with HF Stuff, but on the wire feed welders....."never again"! Buy a Miller, Lincoln, Marquette, ESAB, etc.... Hell, some here have given good reviews on Eastwood's Welders (who knows who makes them?) 78zstyle
Thanks for the advice. Probably best to just buy once.
BLOZ UP
I have a Diversion 165 TIG. There are some TIGs by "Everlast" on eBay that people swear by. Haven't heard anything bad about them (yet). Or, you can get a Hobart, since they're a bit cheaper than the Miller and are pretty much the same thing. Don't know much about MIG, other than I suck at it.
