I'm running a 5 speed from a later Z, but I'm not too sure what I'd need or what the best bet would be from my car. I'm not making very much power and only street driving it. There's no info on the second clutch, so I don't really know anything about it. I'm just running the 2.4 liter with a cam, Holley carb, and full exhaust, so I don't need anything too high end. Also, is there a better place to buy than the ZCarParts website? I need it asap as my car is my daily driver. Thank you. Onion Posted January 20, 2014 Author Share Posted January 20, 2014 The Excedy is $100 more than the Centerforce I clutches, and $200 more than the stock replacement on ZCarParts. I can wait a couple days if it means saving that much money. Would the stock replacement on ZCarParts be enough or should I go for the Centerforce I? And since you're not sure what you need, you might find that you need to return it. You might find a 240 mm set in there instead of 225, for example. If you still want to go internet, even Amazon sells clutch kits. I used mine for 35k, multple autox sessions, several cross country trips, one was towing a trailer, and even 5k miles with it holding stock turbo hp. But without knowing what clutch you currently have in there (betting it's a 225mm clutch, but could be wrong) it would be a gamble. You should pull it out asap and measure it. Is it worth removing and replacing the transmission twice, plus buying another clutch, for fifty bucks? Go with a known quality supplier...and LUK is not bad. I would avoid Zoom or Precision clutch, however, because I've had poor luck with them in the past. I've never had a Napa, LUK, or Exedy clutch be bad out of the box.
