Bartman
So I've been spending the last year or so working on a new makeover to my Z. I Made quite a few changes, and wanted to just make it look a lot better overall. I thought the primary focus was going to be the track, but my plans changed after I found out my daughter loves going to car shows with the Z. So the quality of the body is a little better now, and I made other changes such as shaving the door handles. I spent a ton of time with all the body gaps and the body line - and I think the time and effort has payed off. So what do you think so far? m1ghtymaxXx
Neato! Out here, the Targa Newfoundland Rally's title charity is Autism Awareness. Here's a local competitor's (and coincidentally a coworker of mine) 7 or 800HP Shelby. In 2011 his wife, who's co driving below, entered a matching Mustang Boss. Bartman
Yes, I'm familiar with that car and their organization - and have even contacted them in the past about joining their Racing for Autism campaign with no luck.
RebekahsZ
Looks incredible. I wouldn't have guessed it was the same car. Very time consuming and it looks great.

As a farther of a special needs child, them not following up with you is down right wrong. I am sad to hear that, somebody that has a passion for cars and supports autism awareness wouldn't follow up with you. Shame on them. They followed up - they just weren't interested in having my car connected with their organization.
texis30O
Gaps are tight. Better than factory that is for sure...... I would be paranoid about the buckets and fenders cracking over time....but that is just me.... Looks good.
Bartman
I spent a lot of time on the gaps and welded rod onto the leading edges of the doors to make them as tight as possible without interference when the door is opened and closed. The buckets are welded to the fenders, so I'm not too concerned about them cracking - I did this years ago before my last paint job without any signs of cracks so far. Vintage-TechZ
Looks great Bart! That attention to detail will always make it nicer than the rest when sitting next to one another at a show. I can visualize a stripe on the two-tone paint line in grey to pull in your wheel color nicely.

I actually painted in a thin lime green line between the blue and the silver, but it's hard to see in the pic's I posted. I am thinking of adding something to the wheels to bring it all together, maybe a thin lime green line aroung the perimeter. Bartman
Thanks Hans. I'm still working out some issues - but I'm really happy with the overall look and feel of the car.
jtmny1999
Good choice on the color scheme
texis30O
To tie it all in, Paint a pinstripe on the lip of the wheels. That should tie things in well. Maybe a little addition to the valve covers...... subtle touches.... Glad to hear they are welded and not poly-glassed.....
Bartman
Here is what she looks like now - I pretty much repainted everything again with a slightly different color because the blue was too purple and the flakes were too big.
